Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Double-doubles with two stocks
Towns recorded 22 points (8-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block over 33 minutes in Sunday's 111-102 loss to the Magic.
Towns has looked great to open the 2026-27 season, scoring efficiently while racking up three straight double-doubles, but that hasn't translated to wins for the defending champs. The Knicks are 0-3 to begin the year, and they'll have their work cut out for them Tuesday against Detroit.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Turns in big double-double
Towns registered 22 points (9-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Friday's 107-103 loss to Boston.
That's now back-to-back double-doubles to begin the campaign for the star big man, who led the Knicks in scoring. After getting into foul trouble during Tuesday's Opening Night loss to the 76ers, it was encouraging to see Towns be able to stay on the floor more consistently Friday.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Overcomes foul trouble Tuesday
Towns ended with 19 points (6-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks over 24 minutes in Tuesday's 106-100 loss to Philadelphia.
Towns found himself in early foul trouble on Opening Night. As a result, he would finish the first half with just five points in six minutes of work. It was a different story in the second half, with the 30-year-old veteran amassing 14 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter. It wasn't a perfect game from Towns, who could be entering his final year as a Knick. Still, he began the year with a double-double, and while he also had issues taking care of the ball, it was a good start to the 2026-27 campaign.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Sniffs triple-double in preseason finale
Towns tallied 13 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 15 rebounds and nine assists across 29 minutes in Thursday's 122-120 preseason win over the Raptors.
Towns returned to action Thursday after sitting out the second leg of a back-to-back set Tuesday. The star big man turned in an efficient shooting performance and was one of five Knicks players to score in double figures. He also led all players in rebounds and assists while finishing one dime short of a triple-double.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: To see increased burn Thursday
Head coach Mike Brown said Towns (rest) and the rest of New York's starters will see increased playing time in Thursday's preseason game against Toronto, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Towns was held out of Tuesday's loss to the Raptors due to rest purposes, though he'll be back in action for New York's preseason finale. The big man's return figures to result in James Wiseman heading back to the bench.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Scores 11 in loss, won't play Tuesday
Towns ended with 11 points (3-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four assists, two rebounds and one steal over 22 minutes in Monday's 122-104 preseason loss to Minnesota. He won't play Tuesday against Toronto for rest purposes, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports.
Towns was solid, if unspectacular, as New York fell to 0-3 in preseason play. The standout center has played in each of the first three contests but will take a seat for the second half of the back-to-back set Tuesday at Toronto. Towns' next chance to suit up will come Thursday at home against the Raptors.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Limited to five points
Towns contributed five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists across 15 minutes in Monday's 120-97 preseason loss to the 76ers.
Towns, who's reportedly frustrated by the lack of contract talks before the start of the 2026-27 regular season, joined the projected regular New York starters but saw limited involvement and production in a brief 15-minute cameo. There's little to take away from such a light preseason workload, and Towns remains positioned to operate as one of New York's primary offensive options once the regular season gets underway -- even if he's frustrated by off-court, contract-related issues.

Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Frustrated by contract talks
Towns expressed frustration Sunday regarding his ongoing contract negotiations with the Knicks, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
"Simply put, I want to do something that can keep the team together, and that can work with the Knicks and also values me," Towns said. "And, I mean, none of those things have come close to happening." Towns is eligible for a four-year extension worth roughly $277 million and has indicated a willingness to take less than the maximum to help New York retain its championship core, but the Knicks have reportedly offered around $200 million. The 30-year-old remains under contract for 2026-27 and holds a $61 million player option for 2027-28, so the stalled negotiations don't create an immediate availability concern.
