Hawks' Buddy Hield: Has salary fully guaranteed
Hield had his $9.66 million salary for the 2026-27 season fully guaranteed by the Hawks on Sunday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Hield began the 2025-26 campaign in Golden State before being traded to Atlanta ahead of the deadline. In seven regular-season games with the Hawks, he averaged a career-low 5.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists across 7.3 minutes while shooting 41.2 percent from deep. It's unknown what the future holds for Hield, but he will remain in Atlanta for now. However, there is always a chance other teams in need of a reliable shooter will come calling at some point moving ahead.

Hawks' Buddy Hield: Makes rare appearance
Hield supplied five points (2-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and two rebounds over nine minutes during Thursday's 140-89 loss to the Knicks in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
With the Hawks getting blown out of this contest, Hield was able to make his second appearance of the postseason. Following his move from Golden State, Hield wasn't able to carve out a role in Atlanta. He appeared in just seven regular-season contests for an average of 7.3 minutes per game. The veteran is under contract for two more seasons, though the second year is a player option.

Hawks' Buddy Hield: Nets 31 points with seven treys
Hield provided 31 points (12-18 FG, 7-11 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal across 21 minutes during Sunday's 143-117 loss to Miami.
With Atlanta resting most of its starters, Hield saw a massive spike in usage and took advantage of the increased opportunity. He set season highs in points and three-pointers made, and he finished with a pristine effective-field-goal percentage of 86.1.

Hawks' Buddy Hield: Rare appearance Friday
Hield had zero points (0-2 FG) over four minutes during Friday's 141-107 victory over the Nets.
Hield was back in the rotation, albeit during garbage time. Since arriving in Atlanta, Hield's role has been basically non-existent, suiting up on just six occasions. During his time on the floor, he has averaged 0.9 points and 0.9 rebounds. He can be safely ignored in all formats.

Hawks' Buddy Hield: Set to make debut with Atlanta
Hield (recently traded) is available for Saturday's game against the Hornets.
Hield and Jonathan Kuminga (knee) were traded by the Warriors on Wednesday in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles). With the trade finalized, Hield is ready to make his debut for the Hawks, though he'll be competing with fellow veterans CJ McCollum and Gabe Vincent for minutes off the bench behind backcourt starters Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Hield averaged 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.1 threes and 1.0 steals over 20.3 minutes per game over his last nine games with Golden State.

Hawks' Buddy Hield: Questionable for Saturday
Hield (recently traded) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Hornets.
With Wednesday's trade still pending, Hield is uncertain for his Hawks debut Saturday. If the veteran sharpshooter is out, Zaccharie Risacher and Corey Kispert should both see a considerable workload.

Hawks' Buddy Hield: Traded to Hawks
The Warriors traded Hield and Jonathan Kuminga (knee) to the Hawks on Wednesday in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis (illness), Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Hield joins the Hawks after two seasons in Golden State. The 33-year-old is averaging 8.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists across 17.5 minutes per game this season while shooting what would be a career-low 34.2 percent from three-point land. He'll have to compete with Corey Kispert and Luke Kennard for minutes off the bench in Atlanta. Hield likely won't be ready in time to face the Jazz on Thursday, making Saturday against Charlotte his next chance to make his Hawks debut.

Warriors' Buddy Hield: Usage bump looming
Hield produced 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 23 minutes during Monday's 135-112 victory over the Heat.
It's unclear how Steve Kerr will proceed without Jimmy Butler (knee), but Hield's minutes will probably jump somewhat. He's often served as a backcourt replacement, but his sharpshooting skills can also come in handy at the wing. He'll likely be a prime pivot along with De'Anthony Melton (knee) as the Warriors try to stay relevant in the Western Conference.

Warriors' Buddy Hield: Big defensive effort Saturday
Hield finished with 14 points (5-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two steals in 18 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 136-116 victory over Charlotte.
The 14 points were his best scoring effort since Dec. 4, while the five combined steals and blocks were a season high. Hield is still struggling to maintain a consistent spot in the rotation, but performances like this will bolster his case for regular minutes.
