Clippers' Bradley Beal: Plans to return by Opening Night
Rotowire
Beal (knee) scrimmaged with the team Monday and expects to be healthy for the start of the regular season, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
It doesn't sound like there's any urgency for Beal to play during Los Angeles' preseason, as Linn notes Beal won't suit up for Thursday's preseason opener, but the guard's participation in Monday's session is encouraging. Given that the veteran guard could be restricted from exhibition action, the likes of Cam Christie, Trentyn Flowers and Jordan Miller could see extended run during the preseason.

Clippers' Bradley Beal: Absent from team scrimmage
Rotowire
Beal (knee) didn't participate in Thursday's team scrimmage work, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
This update isn't a huge surprise considering the team recently announced Beal would be limited to begin training camp. However, it certainly would be nice to see him get in on some 5-on-5 action sooner rather than later. It's currently unclear whether Beal will be available for the Clippers' first preseason game Oct. 9.

Clippers' Bradley Beal: Will start at shooting guard
Rotowire
Beal (knee) will be the Clippers starting shooting guard, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
As expected, Beal will start in the backcourt alongside James Harden. The forward positions aren't exactly clear, though, as coach Tyronn Lue told reporters he "can't remember" if John Collins will start. Beal is limited to begin training camp due to a knee scope from May.

Clippers' Bradley Beal: Limited to start training camp
Rotowire
Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank said Monday that Beal (knee) will be a limited participant to start training camp, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Frank shared that Beal underwent a knee scope in May and will likely be eased into camp with his workload monitored, though he didn't express concern about his regular-season availability. The veteran guard signed a two-year deal with the Clippers this offseason after being waived by the Suns. He averaged 17.0 points, 3.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals across 53 regular-season appearances last year.

Clippers' Bradley Beal: To join Clippers after buyout
Rotowire
Beal and the Suns agreed to a contract buyout Wednesday, setting the guard up to join the Clippers, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
Once Beal's buyout is completed, he will be joining the Clippers on a two-year deal worth $11 million. That contract will include a player option for the second season, Charania adds. The Clippers were always believed to be the favorites to land Beal, and he'll give the team a scoring punch on the wings to fill the void left by Norman Powell. Beal may not have a high usage rate, however, as James Harden is the primary playmaker and the bulk of the offense runs through Kawhi Leonard.

Suns' Bradley Beal: Phoenix negotiating buyout
Rotowire
The Suns are negotiating a possible buyout with Beal, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Beal has two years and $110 million left on his contract, but the Suns are open to ending that deal, and that move would make the veteran guard a free agent. Beal should generate heavy interest if he were to hit the open market, as he'd be free to sign any team he chooses -- and for any salary. Beal was limited to only 53 regular-season appearances (38 starts) in 2024-25, averaging 17.0 points, 3.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. That was his worst scoring output since the 2014-15 campaign.

Suns' Bradley Beal: Won't play Sunday
Rotowire
Beal is out for Sunday's game against the Kings due to rest.
The final game of the season for the Suns won't have any of the members of their Big Three, as Devin Booker (calf) and Kevin Durant (ankle) are also out for this contest. Beal had a rough season in 2024-25, and there's already talk of him leaving the franchise in the offseason. He was limited to only 38 starts and 53 appearances, averaging 17.0 points, 3.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. That was his worst scoring output since the 2014-15 campaign.

Suns' Bradley Beal: Drops 21 points in victory
Rotowire
Beal racked up 21 points (8-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt), four rebounds and six assists over 28 minutes during Friday's 117-98 win over the Spurs.
Beal delivered in the decisive win, and the chances of Beal's return next year are likely due to his no-trade clause. The Suns are carrying a lot of cash with their star-studded lineup, and some heads are bound to roll after the dramatic eight-game skid that dashed the team's playoff hopes. Only time will tell if Beal elects to find another suitor, but injury issues harm his value.

Suns' Bradley Beal: Leads team with 25 points
Rotowire
Beal supplied 25 points (8-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), one rebound, four assists and one steal in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 125-112 loss to the Thunder.
Although Beal did his best to turn the tide, their eighth consecutive loss eliminated the Suns from playoff contention. Beal's season has been a mixed bag after appearing in only 52 games, and he's currently logging the second-worst seasonal scoring average of his 13-year career. Someone will have to answer for this disappointing result, and while coach Mike Budenholzer might lose his job, players like Beal could also be on the move.
Beal closed with 16 points (8-19 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists, two blocks and four steals in 34 minutes during Sunday's 112-98 loss to New York.
Devin Booker carried the Suns on offense, and while the Suns need Beal to be at his best, the veteran guard struggled once again and delivered a subpar showing. Not only was Beal disappointing from an efficiency perspective, as he needed 19 shots to score 16 points, but he also failed to make a meaningful impact in other categories. It's been only two games since Beal's return to action, but the early numbers aren't encouraging. In those two games, he's gone 8-for-26 from the field, 0-for-8 from three-point range and posted a 7:2 assist-to-turnover rate.

Suns' Bradley Beal: Struggles mightily in return
Rotowire
Beal (hamstring) finished with one point (0-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five assists, four rebounds, three steals and one block across 30 minutes Friday in the Suns' 123-103 loss to the Celtics.
Cleared to play after missing the last eight games due to a left hamstring strain, Beal took back a spot in the starting five and wasn't under any obvious restrictions, as he finished third on the Suns in playing time behind Devin Booker (38 minutes) and Oso Ighodaro (32 minutes). Though Beal came through with some unusually strong contributions in the defensive categories, he didn't provide much support for Booker, as he failed to make a shot while finishing a team-worst minus-23 during his time on the court. Better days are ahead for Beal, but some inconsistency in his performance should be expected over the next few games as he settles back in following the injury.

Beal will miss his eighth straight game due to a strained left hamstring, and his next chance to play will come Friday against Boston. Suns' Bradley Beal: Progressing to 5-on-5 drills
Rotowire
Head coach Mike Budenholzer said Sunday that Beal (hamstring) has progressed to 5-on-5 work, though there still isn't a clear timetable for his return to game action, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Beal is slated to miss his seventh consecutive contest on Sunday against the Rockets due to a strained left hamstring. However, the veteran guard's progression to 5-on-5 work bodes well for his eventual return this season, and his next chance to play will come Tuesday against Milwaukee. Collin Gillespie will likely continue to receive an uptick in playing time due to Beal being sidelined.
