Malcolm Brogdon: Announces retirement
Brogdon announced his retirement from the NBA on Thursday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Charania notes that Brogdon was set to make New York's final roster. However, the veteran guard has chosen to move on to the next chapter of his life, and the Knicks officially waived him Thursday night. Brogdon was the 2016-17 Rookie of the Year with the Bucks and the 2022-23 Sixth Man of the Year with the Celtics. He'll wrap up his nine-year NBA career with averages of 15.3 points, 4.7 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 three-pointers per game through 463 regular-season contests.

Knicks' Malcolm Brogdon: Quiet in starting lineup
Brogdon logged four points (2-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three assists, two rebounds and one steal in 18 minutes of Monday's 120-103 preseason loss to Washington.
Brogdon drew a start Monday with the Knicks sitting their usual starters. Brogdon has made four preseason appearances so far, and the results have left a lot to be desired with averages of 4.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 13.0 minutes on 29.4 percent shooting from the field.

Brogdon will start Monday's preseason game against the Wizards, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
With the Knicks resting their usual starters, Brogdon will start alongside Miles McBride, Jordan Clarkson, Pacome Dadiet and Guerschon Yabusele. Brogdon is currently on the team via a training camp deal, but he's expected to make the Opening Night roster.

Knicks' Malcolm Brogdon: Muted performance in win
Brogdon finished with three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), one rebound, two assists, one steal and one block across 12 minutes during Thursday's 99-84 preseason win over the 76ers.
Brogdon's preseason debut with his new squad didn't go as well as he may have planned, though he played only limited minutes off the bench. The veteran guard checked a few boxes during his short time on the floor, but questions still surround what role he'll play in New York if he makes the final roster, as expected.

Knicks' Malcolm Brogdon: Expected to make final roster
Brogdon is expected to play a "key bench role" for the Knicks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Brogdon signed an Exhibit 9 contract with New York on Sept. 16, which was surprising, considering he'll have to earn a spot on the team's roster. However, Charania makes it clear what the team's intentions are with the veteran guard, as he might already have that spot wrapped up. Landry Shamet is also in the same situation in New York.

Knicks' Malcolm Brogdon: Signs deal with New York
Brogdon signed an Exhibit 9 contract with the Knicks on Tuesday.
This deal is for one year and offers financial protection in the event of an injury. The contract is not guaranteed, so Brogdon will have to earn his spot during training camp. Previous reports have indicated that the Knicks view him as a rotation player, so he'll likely have a good chance of making the final roster.

Knicks' Malcolm Brogdon: Inks deal with New York
The Knicks signed Brogdon (ankle) to a one-year contract Friday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Brogdon is on the move yet again, with the veteran point guard set to play for a sixth team during his NBA career. The 31-year-old journeyman has bounced around the league quite a bit over the last few years. He started his professional career with the Bucks and has since played for the Pacers, Celtics, Trail Blazers and Wizards. It is uncertain what his role will be in New York, as he joins a crowded backcourt that includes Jalen Brunson, Miles McBride, Tyler Kolek, Jordan Clarkson and Landry Shamet. Brogdon played in 24 regular-season games with Washington during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 43.3 percent from the floor and 28.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Brogdon (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Heat.
Brogdon will end up missing the final 28 games of the regular season due to a left ankle sprain. Brogdon enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent and should garner interest from teams looking to add a veteran guard to their rotation.

Wizards' Malcolm Brogdon: Won't return Tuesday
Brogdon (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Pacers.
Tuesday will be the 25th straight game that Brogdon will miss due to a left ankle sprain. Given his lengthy absence and the lack of an update from the team on his injury timeline, it's unlikely Brogdon makes his return Wednesday against the 76ers.
