DeMar DeRozan: Waived by Kings
The Kings waived DeRozan (hamstring) on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
With the Kings unable to find a suitable trade, the two sides will simply move on. With this news, DeRozan suddenly becomes one of the most intriguing free agents on the open market. In 2025-26, DeRozan averaged 18.4 points, 4.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 31.2 minutes per game across 77 regular-season appearances.

Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Destination unsettled for 2026-27
DeRozan (hamstring) could be working with a new point guard in 2026-27 after Sacramento took Darius Acuff with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
DeRozan's stay with Sacramento is certainly not guaranteed, though. The expectation is that the Kings will waive the veteran forward if they're unable to find a suitor in trade talks, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. If DeRozan ends up sticking around with the Kings, he'll be trying to bounce back after averaging 18.4 points per game in 2024-25, his lowest total since 2012-13.

He will end the season with averages of 18.4 points, 4.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 31.2 minutes per game across 77 regular-season appearances.

Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Unavailable for Friday
DeRozan (hamstring) is out for Friday's game against the Warriors.
DeRozan has been ruled out for a second straight contest while dealing with a right hamstring issue. He'll have a chance to return for Sacramento's regular-season finale against the Trail Blazers, though there's no reason to rush him back into action at this point.

Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Ruled out Tuesday
DeRozan is out for Tuesday's game against the Warriors due to right hamstring soreness.
It's set to be a rare absence for the star forward, who's sidelined for just the third time all year. With DeRozan out of action Tuesday, Daeqwon Plowden figures to jump into the starting lineup at small forward while veterans Malik Monk and Doug McDermott likely see an uptick in playing time.

Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Iffy for Tuesday
DeRozan is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Warriors due to right hamstring soreness.
DeRozan was held to 10 minutes Sunday against the Clippers in an ugly loss, and his availability is now in jeopardy for Tuesday's matchup. Sacramento should have another update on his status closer to tipoff after observing him go through shootaround and warmups.

Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Scores 28 points vs. former team
DeRozan ended Wednesday's 123-115 win over the Raptors with 28 points (7-18 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 12-12 FT), one rebound and four assists over 35 minutes.
DeRozan, who was returning from a one-game absence due to a hamstring problem, had an excellent performance against his former team, and he was particularly active at the charity stripe after draining all 12 of his attempts. The Kings don't have anything to play for in the final days of the regular season, but it's worth noting that DeRozan remains a reliable scoring option for Sacramento. He's averaging 19.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game since the start of March.

DeRozan (hamstring) is listed as out for Sunday's game in Brooklyn.

Saturday marked the second game in a row that DeRozan led the Kings in scoring while connecting on 50.0 percent of his field-goal attempts. The veteran forward is averaging 18.5 points per game this season, which is his lowest mark since the 2012-13 season with the Raptors (18.1 points per game), though he's connecting on 49.5 percent of his field-goal attempts.

Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Limited impact in loss
DeRozan provided seven points (3-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), four rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 134-90 loss to the Hornets.
DeRozan was very underwhelming in this loss as the Kings dropped to 19-54 on the season. With nothing but lottery balls in play down the stretch, DeRozan could see his minutes and usage trend down.

DeRozan closed Thursday's 139-118 loss to the 76ers with 13 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and five assists over 23 minutes.
DeRozan's playing time continues to occasionally fall victim to Sacramento's youth movement. The star forward's numbers are still solid overall despite some recent volatility, with DeRozan averaging 22.3 points, 5.2 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 30.0 minutes per tilt in his last six games.
