The Nuggets are signing DeRozan (hamstring) on Friday, per Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com.
The Nuggets may have lost Peyton Watson to the Cavaliers earlier this week, but they've quickly made a move to upgrade their roster. DeRozan, a six-time All-Star, should assume a significant role with Denver after averaging 18.4 points, 4.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 31.2 minutes per game across 77 regular-season appearances for the Kings in 2025-26. The veteran forward is in line for a usage decrease playing alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, and it remains to be seen if he'll unseat either Christian Braun or Cameron Johnson for a starting position in 2026-27.

DeRozan (hamstring) could be working with a new point guard in 2026-27 after Sacramento took Darius Acuff with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
DeRozan's stay with Sacramento is certainly not guaranteed, though. DeRozan ended Wednesday's 123-115 win over the Raptors with 28 points (7-18 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 12-12 FT), one rebound and four assists over 35 minutes.
DeRozan, who was returning from a one-game absence due to a hamstring problem, had an excellent performance against his former team, and he was particularly active at the charity stripe after draining all 12 of his attempts.
