Orioles' Ike Irish: Suffers season-ending knee injury

Irish was placed on the 7-day injured list at High-A Frederick on Friday with a torn left meniscus, Steve Melewski of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Irish suffered the unfortunate injury on a slide into second base earlier this week. It concludes what was a terrific first full pro season for Irish, who slashed .286/.388/.528 with 16 home runs, 20 stolen bases and a 43:75 BB:K over 76 games with Frederick. Irish will likely move up to Double-A to start next season.

Irish (wrist) went 1-for-5 with one RBI, one walk and one run scored in Sunday's doubleheader against High-A Greenville.
Irish missed nearly a week of action after picking up a bruised wrist, but he appeared in both games Sunday. He's had a tough month of May for Frederick, posting a .157/.267/.294 slash line with two home runs, seven RBI, two stolen bases and 11 runs scored in 15 games.

Irish will be out of High-A Frederick's lineup for the next few days due to a right wrist bruise, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
The 22-year-old suffered the injury during Sunday's game against Hudson Valley when he was hit by a pitch, but it appears he's avoided a serious injury. Irish is one of Baltimore's top prospects and has enjoyed a strong start to the 2026 campaign with seven homers, nine steals and an .874 OPS in his first 33 games at the High-A level.
