  • Dodgers' Mike Sirota: Goes deep in first spring at-bat

Sirota (knee) swatted a solo home run in his only at-bat during Saturday's Cactus League loss to Texas.

Sirota entered as a pinch runner in the sixth inning and remained in the game in right field. He got one plate appearance and took full advantage of the opportunity, belting a solo homer to left field off minor-league lefty Dalton Pence in the eighth frame. Sirota ended last season on the minor-league 60-day IL due to a knee injury, but he appears to be past the issue. The 22-year-old is one of the Dodgers' top prospects after posting a .333/.452/.616 slash line with 13 homers, 54 RBI, 48 runs, five stolen bases and a 48:59 BB:K over 59 games between Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and High-A Great Lakes last year. He figures to progress to the upper levels of the minors this season and could be a fixture on the big-league squad as soon as 2027.

  • Dodgers' Mike Sirota: On 60-day IL

High-A Great Lakes transferred Sirota from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day IL on July 13 after he suffered an apparent right knee injury while sliding into a base July 5, Bruce Kuntz of DodgersDigest.com reports.

Though it's not clear if Sirota will require surgery, his 2025 season is likely over, unless he makes it back for the Arizona Fall League. He may have been promoted to Double-A Tulsa at some point this summer if he hadn't suffered the injury, as he was slashing .316/.458/.556 with six home runs and four steals in 35 games for Great Lakes.

  • Dodgers' Mike Sirota: Forces promotion to High-A

Sirota is hitting .636 with two home runs and a 15.4 percent strikeout rate in three games since getting promoted from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga to High-A Great Lakes last week.

All told, Sirota is slashing .382/.469/.745 with nine home runs, one steal, a 13.3 percent walk rate and a 21.1 percent strikeout rate in 27 games, primarily at Single-A. Sirota, whom the Dodgers acquired from the Reds this offseason before he played a pro game as part of the return for Gavin Lux, is a little old for the lower levels, as he'll turn 22 in June. He's also been fortunate with a .446 BABIP. However, he's been one of the hottest hitter in the minors and his one steal undersells his potential in that category.
