  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Drawing start in left field

Kemp will start in left field and bat ninth Monday in Game 2 of the NLDS versus the Dodgers. With Harrison Bader (groin) out of the lineup, Brandon Marsh will shift to center field and Kemp will enter the fray in left field. It will be the postseason debut for Kemp, who slashed .234/.298/.411 with eight home runs in 62 regular-season contests for the Phillies.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Launches sixth homer in win

Kemp went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored in a 6-4 win over the Mets on Thursday. Kemp smashed his sixth homer of the year, tying a season high in RBI as well. As long as Alec Bohm (shoulder) remains on the injured list, Kemp should remain Philadelphia's primary third baseman. Through the first 158 at-bats of his career, Kemp is batting .241 with eight doubles, 22 RBI, 21 runs scored and two stolen bases.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Homers, steals bag

Kemp went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's win against the Mets. Kemp's solo shot in the second inning was his fifth of the year and first since July 27. He was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday and has since started two games at third base. Kemp is seemingly the everyday option at the hot corner while Alec Bohm (shoulder) is out. Kemp is slashing .233/.310/.380 with 12 extra-base hits through 48 MLB games.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Sent back to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Kemp to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday. The rookie had started just three of the last eight games, and since his playing-time outlook wasn't going to improve with Alec Bohm (rib) returning from the injured list Sunday, the Phillies opted to send Kemp back to the minors. After getting called up from Triple-A on June 7, the 25-year-old slashed .228/.298/.359 with four home runs, one stolen base, 17 RBI and 17 runs over 46 games.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Losing playing time at 3B

Kemp is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers. With Edmundo Sosa emerging as the Phillies' preferred option at third base in the absence of Alec Bohm (rib), Kemp will be on the bench for the second day in a row. Kemp has posted a respectable .740 OPS since the All-Star break but has struck out at a 30.9 percent clip.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Kemp is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Red Sox. Kemp had started each of the previous four contests at third base as an injury replacement for Alec Bohm (rib), but he will begin Wednesday's contest on the bench. Edmundo Sosa will handle the hot corner and bat eighth as the Phillies try to complete the sweep.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Benefiting from Bohm's absence

Kemp will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Red Sox. After going 3-for-7 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run while starting at the hot corner in both of the final two games of the Phillies' weekend series with the Angels, Kemp will remain in the lineup Monday. The rookie looks set to see the bulk of the playing time at third base while Alec Bohm is on the shelf due to a fractured left rib.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Odd man out in Harper's return

Kemp is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Padres, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Since being called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on June 7, Kemp had started in all but one of the Phillies' ensuing 20 games, but he'll likely find himself on the bench against right-handed pitching more frequently after Philadelphia reinstated Bryce Harper (wrist) from the injured list Monday. The right-handed-hitting Kemp should continue to see regular playing time against left-handed pitching, likely occupying the short side of a platoon in left field with the left-handed-hitting Max Kepler.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Belts first career long ball

Kemp went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Friday's 13-0 win over Atlanta. Kemp lifted his first career homer, and he's now logged at least one hit in five of his last eight games. The 25-year-old rookie is helping fill in at first base for the injured Bryce Harper (wrist), and Kemp is slashing .242/.329/.339 with three doubles, nine RBI, nine runs scored and one stolen base over 70 plate appearances. That said, Kemp will be at risk of being optioned back to the minor leagues once Harper is ready to return, which could come as soon as next week.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Delivers four hits

Kemp went 4-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over Toronto. Kemp singled four times Sunday, including a two-run base hit in the fourth inning. He picked up his first career steal and has produced three multi-hit performances over his last six games. Kemp was one of six Phillies with multiple hits in the victory. The 25-year-old rookie is slashing .345/.387/.379 through his first 31 plate appearances.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Makes second straight start at 3B

Kemp went 0-for-2 with a walk and was caught stealing in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Pirates. Kemp has started at third base in both of the Phillies' games since he was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, but he's still looking for his first MLB hit, having gone 0-for-5 with three strikeouts between those two contests. With Alec Bohm shifting over to first base after Bryce Harper (wrist) was placed on the injured list, Kemp could have an opportunity to play regularly while he's up with the big club, though he may have to fend off Edmundo Sosa for playing time in the infield. The 25-year-old Kemp posted a 1.010 OPS and 11 steals in 58 games for Lehigh Valley this season and had an .881 OPS in 123 games across four levels of the minors in 2024, though he's been old for his level throughout his minor-league career.

  • Phillies' Otto Kemp: Gets first big-league call-up

The Phillies selected Kemp's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Kemp has impressed at the Triple-A level this season, slashing .313/.416/.594 with 14 home runs, 19 doubles, 55 RBI, 49 runs and 11 stolen bases over 58 games. His versatility is also an asset, as Kemp has logged time at both corner-infield positions as well as at second base and in left field in the minors this season. His promotion comes as a corresponding move to Bryce Harper (wrist) landing on the injured list.
