  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Ready to go Sunday

Turang (wrist) will start at second base and bat sixth Sunday against the Giants, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Turang sat out Saturday's 7-1 loss after being hit by a pitch on the wrist in Friday's series opener, but he's ready to rejoin the lineup after missing just one game. The second baseman has been one of the best hitters in baseball during August and has a 1.190 OPS with eight home runs, six doubles, 20 RBI, 16 runs and two steals in 20 games this month.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Not in lineup

Turang (wrist) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants. Turang was hit by a pitch Friday night and tested out the injury pregame to see if he'd be able to play Saturday. It seems as though his wrist didn't respond well, as he's not part of the starting nine. Caleb Durbin will slide over to second base while Anthony Seigler plays third base.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Good to go Wednesday

Turang (finger) will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates. Turang went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 14-0 win before being lifted in the bottom of the sixth inning for a pinch hitter while he tended to a pinkie injury. The Brewers held a 12-run lead at the time of Turang's departure, so the score may have played a factor in his early removal more so than the injury. The second baseman made enough progress in his recovery overnight to re-enter the lineup for a day game Wednesday as the Brewers look to extend their winning streak to 12.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Nursing finger injury

Turang was removed from Tuesday's game against the Pirates due to a pinky injury, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Manager Pat Murphy said after the game that Turang's finger was giving him trouble before Tuesday's contest. However, it seems the Platinum Glover's removal in the seventh inning had more to do with the fact that the Brewers were already leading 12-0 at that point. Because he was able to play through his injury Tuesday and hit a home run off Paul Skenes in the process -- Turang's fourth homer in five games -- the 25-year-old may be able to stick in the lineup when the Brewers go for the series sweep Wednesday.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Power surge continues in rout

Turang went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 7-1 win over Pittsburgh. Although Turang's seven-game hitting streak came to an end as a pinch hitter in Sunday's win over the Mets, he now has at least one knock in eight consecutive starts. The speedy second baseman is on a tear to begin August -- Turang is hitting .353 with five homers, three doubles, 11 RBI and two stolen bases over 34 at-bats so far this month.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting against southpaw

Turang is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets. Though Turang isn't a strict platoon player, he'll take a seat against Mets lefty Sean Manaea as the Brewers go for their ninth straight win Sunday. Andruw Monasterio will step in at second base.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Smacks 10th homer in win

Turang went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Mets. Turang tied the game with a 410-foot blast in the fourth inning and then singled and scored again in the seventh. The 25-year-old has been red hot to open August, hitting safely in seven straight games with seven extra-base hits, 10 RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases. For the season, he's slashing .278/.343/.399 with 10 homers, 54 RBI, 68 runs scored and 21 steals across 472 plate appearances.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Homers twice in win

Turang went 2-for-6 with a pair of two-run homers in Sunday's 14-3 win over the Nationals. Turang extended Milwaukee's lead to 3-0 in the second inning with a blast off Brad Lord before launching a second homer in the seventh off Ryan Loutos. The 26-year-old Turang is up to eight home runs this season, setting a new career high. He's swung the bat well in 13 games since the All-Star break, going 16-for-55 (.291) with an .831 OPS. Overall, Turang is slashing .276/.342/.386 with 65 runs scored, 49 RBI and 19 stolen bases across 452 plate appearances this season.

Turang is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers. Turang started the previous 11 games but will receive Sunday off after batting .190 (8-for-42) with just one extra-base hit during that stretch. Andruw Monasterio will take over at the keystone for the series finale in Los Angeles.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Launches three-run homer

Turang went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Twins. Turang launched a 412-foot blast off David Festa in the fifth inning, his fifth of the year, that would prove to be a difference maker in Milwaukee's eventual one-run victory. Turang's now hit safely in seven straight games, going 11-for-29 (.379) with a .992 OPS in that span. Overall, he's slashing .274/.352/.367 with 50 runs scored, 30 RBI and 16 stolen bases through 322 plate appearances this season.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Steals 16th bag in multi-hit game

Turang went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Cubs. Turang notched his 16th steal of the year, and the multi-hit game was his third in his past five outings. The speedy middle infielder hasn't left the yard since May 20, as it's been an extended cold spell at the plate overall for about a month now. Over his last 106 plate appearances (25 games), Turang is slashing a weak .220/.321/.275 with five doubles, seven RBI, 11 runs scored and just three thefts.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Pilfers 15th bag Friday

Turang went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Padres. The steal was Turang's 15th of the year, and he's now posted at least one hit in six of his last seven games. Over his last 11 outings, the speedy second baseman is batting .306 (11-for-36) with four doubles, four RBI, eight runs scored and two stolen bases. Turang ranks seventh in the National League in stolen bases thus far, but he has just one home run since April 9 and just four on the season.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting against Crochet

Turang is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox. The Brewers are stacking their lineup with eight right-handed bats along with the switch-hitting Isaac Collins to counter Boston lefty Garrett Crochet. Turang, who is batting just .195/.295/.273 so far this month, gives way to Andruw Monasterio at second base.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Busy on basepaths in loss

Turang went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases in Friday's 3-0 loss to the Twins. The second baseman very nearly manufactured a run by himself in the first inning, slapping a single to left field and then swiping second and third base, but the Brewers couldn't bring Turang home and never got another runner that close to scoring again. The 25-year-old is up to 11 steals on the year in 14 attempts while slashing .288/.365/.365 with three homers, 16 RBI and 32 runs in 42 games.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Back in Milwaukee lineup

Turang (illness) will start at second base and bat leadoff in Thursday's contest against the White Sox. Turang was scratched from the lineup ahead of Wednesday's 6-4 win and was sent back to the team hotel while he battled a stomach bug, but he's ready to roll for Thursday's series finale. The second baseman is slashing .317/.368/.408 with three home runs and eight stolen bases in his first 30 games for the Brewers this season.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Piles up three more hits vs. Giants

Turang went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Giants. After going 4-for-4 in Tuesday's win over San Francisco, Turang piled up three more knocks Wednesday for his fourth game of the year with at least a trio of hits. The 25-year-old infielder is batting a scalding .350 with three home runs, 14 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 100 at-bats. Among qualifiers, Turang ranks fifth in the major leagues in batting average thus far.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Scores three times Friday

Turang went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and three runs scored in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics. Turang bounced back from an 0-for-4 effort Wednesday versus the Tigers, which was just his second hitless effort of the year. The speedy second baseman has swiped three bags over his last five games. He's up to a .313/.349/.438 slash line with five steals, three home runs, 10 RBI and 20 runs scored over 20 contests as the Brewers' main leadoff hitter.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Launches loud homer Friday

Turang went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Reds. A number of middle infielders classified as light-hitting have been displaying surprising power early in 2025, a group led by the Dodgers' Tommy Edman (five homers in nine games), but Turang has put himself among that group with some loud contact of his own. The 25-year-old absolutely smoked a Nick Martinez cutter in the fifth inning Friday, depositing it 418 feet away over the right-center-field fence for what proved to be the winning runs. Turang had seven homers in 155 regular-season games last year with an average exit velocity in the 14th percentile, and a hard-hit rate in the ninth percentile. Through his first eight games of 2025 he's already gone yard twice, and while the sample size is very small, he boasts an AEV in the 84th percentile and a hard-hit rate in the 60th percentile.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Staying at second base

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Turang (shoulder) will open the season as the club's primary second baseman, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Milwaukee was seriously considering shifting Turang to shortstop this season, but the idea was scuttled once the infielder developed some shoulder soreness. The shoulder issue is not expected to affect his availability for Opening Day. Turang is the reigning Platinum Glove winner in the National League for his defensive work at second base.

  • Brewers' Brice Turang: Injury deemed not serious

Manager Pat Murphy told reporters Saturday that his decision to take Turang (shoulder) out of the lineup against the Athletics was done as a precaution, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Medical staff had cleared Turang to play Saturday, but Murphy wanted to give the 25-year-old some additional time to recover from right shoulder fatigue. It remains to be seen whether Turang will play in Sunday's spring game against Cleveland, but he doesn't appear to be in serious jeopardy of missing Opening Day.
