  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Starting Game 2

Gilbert will draw the start on the mound for Game 2 of the ALCS on Monday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports. Gilbert will make his second start of the postseason and third appearance overall in Game 2. The right-hander has given up one run on seven hits and a walk while striking out nine batters over eight innings so far in the postseason. Gilbert made one start against Toronto in the regular season, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out nine over 4.2 innings April 19.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Delivers quality start in Game 3

Gilbert earned the win during Game 3 of the ALDS versus Detroit on Tuesday after allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out seven batters across six innings. He did not issue a walk. A three-hour rain delay didn't seem to faze Gilbert at all, as he was able to generate 16 whiffs on 85 pitches and finished his outing without dishing out a free pass. A fielder's choice allowed the Tigers to plate a run against the right-hander in the fourth inning, but an eight-run performance from the Mariners' offense ensured that Gilbert was never in serious jeopardy of leaving the ballpark Tuesday without a win. If Seattle advances to the ALCS, the 28-year-old would likely be in the conversation to start one of the first two games of the series.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Takes no-decision Saturday

Gilbert allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Saturday. Gilbert gave up a two-run home run to Dalton Rushing in the fifth inning. This was a somewhat limited start for Gilbert, who threw 48 of 75 pitches for strikes. The Mariners are locked into the No. 2 seed in the American League, so they had no need to push the right-hander. He'll finish the regular season at a 3.44 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 173:31 K:BB across 131 innings through 25 starts, and it's expected Gilbert will be part of the rotation for the ALDS.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Earns fifth win

Gilbert (5-6) earned the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings against the Royals. He struck out five. Gilbert was handed plenty of run support from the Mariners' offense and took advantage by attacking the zone to secure the win. After being tagged for six runs in two innings against the Phillies on Aug. 18, the right-hander has largely settled back in, posting a 2.54 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with a 12.4 K/9 across 28.1 innings over his last five starts.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Fans eight in short start

Gilbert allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against St. Louis on Wednesday. Gilbert's line was pretty solid overall, especially his eight punchouts and 18 whiffs. However, the right-hander was pulled with two outs in the fifth inning after hitting his second batter of the game on his 95th pitch. The truncated outing snapped a three-game streak of quality starts by Gilbert, though he still allowed exactly one run for the third time across his past four appearances. Gilbert lowered his season ERA to 3.54 ahead of what's projected to be matchup in Kansas City for his next start.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Logs quality start in no-decision

Gilbert did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 6.1 innings. Gilbert cruised through six scoreless innings before recording just one out and allowing two runs in the seventh. Despite the late stumble, the 28-year-old generated seven whiffs on his slider and needed only 79 pitches to log his third quality start in his past five outings. He'll carry a 3.31 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 124:23 K:BB across 89.2 innings into a road matchup with the Phillies early next week.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Goes five innings in no-decision

Gilbert did not factor into the decision Thursday against the White Sox, allowing a run on two hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six. Gilbert held the White Sox scoreless through four innings before ultimately allowing a lone run on a Michael Taylor solo homer in the fifth. It's been an up-and-down year overall for the 28-year-old Gilbert, though he's now held opponents to three runs or fewer in four of his last five starts. Gilbert's ERA now sits at 3.35 with a 0.98 WHIP and 118 strikeouts through 16 starts (83.1 innings). He's tentatively lined up to face the Orioles on the road in his next outing.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Turns in quality start

Gilbert allowed three runs on five hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Friday. This was Gilbert's fifth outing of the year in which he issued zero walks. He had a rough third inning but was otherwise steady, throwing 63 of 88 pitches for strikes in his second quality start over his last three appearances. Gilbert is now at a 3.45 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 112:18 K:BB through 78.1 innings across 15 starts this season. The right-hander is projected for a favorable home start versus the White Sox next week.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Roughed up in fifth inning

Gilbert (3-4) allowed four runs on three hits and three walks while striking out seven over five innings to take the loss versus the Angels on Sunday. Gilbert got through four innings with little trouble, but the Angels put together a four-run rally in the fifth capped by a Mike Trout home run. Gilbert wasn't at his best with control -- in addition to matching his season high with three walks, he also unleashed two wild pitches. The right-hander allowed 12 runs (nine earned) over 26.2 innings while posting a 38:10 K:BB in five July starts. He's now at a 3.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 105:18 K:BB through 72.1 innings over 14 starts this season. Gilbert's next start is projected to be at home versus the Rangers.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Dazzles in third win

Gilbert (3-3) allowed two hits and struck out 10 without walking a batter over 6.1 shutout innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Brewers. Gilbert opened with four perfect innings and then retired another seven in a row after Jackson Chourio's fifth-inning single. This was arguably Gilbert's best start of the season and his first quality start since Opening Day versus the Athletics. He's still served as a quality fantasy asset, albeit in shorter outings than usual, pitching to a 3.07 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 98:15 K:BB through 67.1 innings across 13 starts this season. His next start is projected to be on the road versus the Angels this weekend.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Rebounds against Tigers

Gilbert didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Detroit, allowing two unearned runs on six hits and two walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out nine. Gilbert had allowed four earned runs in three of his last four starts, but he managed to slow down a strong Tigers offense Sunday. Both runs scored while Gilbert was on the mound came after an error in the first inning. Dillon Dingler delivered the blow with a two-RBI double. Since returning from the injured list June 16, Gilbert has a 4.40 ERA and a 44:9 K:BB across 30.2 innings.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Works to no-decision

Gilbert settled for the no-decision after throwing 5.1 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out seven in Friday's 7-6 win over the Rangers. Since his opening start of the year when he went seven strong, Gilbert has failed to pitch into the seventh inning in nine starts since. Along with the inability to work deep into ballgames, keeping the ball in the ballpark has been a struggle for the 28-year-old as well as he's allowed a home run in four straight outings. The right-hander is lined up to face the Royals in his next start.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Activated ahead of Monday's start

The Mariners activated Gilbert (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Monday. He's set to make his long-awaited return to the Mariners' rotation Monday versus the Red Sox after missing nearly two months of action with a flexor strain. Gilbert threw 72 pitches across five scoreless innings during his final rehab start, so he should face only minor workload restrictions in his first outing back with the big club.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Dialed in during third rehab start

Gilbert (elbow) struck out six batters and gave up one hit and one walk over six scoreless innings in his rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Tacoma. In what was expected to be his third and final rehab start with Tacoma before he returns from the 15-day injured list, Gilbert aced the test with flying colors. He pushed his pitch count up to 72 (43 strikes) in Tuesday's outing and retired 13 consecutive batters at one point during the contest. He also made full use of his arsenal, including incorporating a few splitters, an offering that's often difficult for pitchers to reliably depend on coming back from a flexor strain. Gilbert has been on a five-day rest schedule during his rehab assignment, so the assumption is that he'll return from the IL next Monday to start the first game of the Mariners' home series versus Boston.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Builds up to 60 pitches Wednesday

Gilbert (elbow) gave up two earned runs on five hits and one walk with two strikeouts in three innings during Wednesday's rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Working his way back from a right elbow flexor strain, Gilbert was able to get up to 60 pitches in his second minor-league outing. The Mariners have not yet determined whether the right-hander will need another rehab appearance before rejoining the rotation, but a return early next week in Arizona against the Diamondbacks remains a possibility. Once Gilbert is ready to be activated from the injured list, Emerson Hancock stands out as the most likely candidate to be optioned to the minors to make room on the roster.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Begins rehab assignment

Gilbert (elbow) threw 1.2 innings, allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out three during a rehab appearance with Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports. This marked Gilbert's first rehab appearance, and the results were mixed. His surface stats were poor, but he managed to build up to 45 pitches while also hitting 96.8 mph with his fastball. He'll likely need at least one more rehab outing or two before being activated from the 15-day injred list.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Successful bullpen session Tuesday

Gilbert (elbow) threw roughly 25 pitches in Tuesday's bullpen session, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports. Gilbert was able to ramp up the intensity for his final few throws of the day, exceeding 94 mph on multiple occasions. Most importantly, the right-hander didn't experience any discomfort in his elbow following the session. Gilbert will likely begin a rehab assignment in the near future, presumably one consisting of multiple starts before he returns to the major-league roster.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Tossing side session Tuesday

Gilbert (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. This will mark Gilbert's first official bullpen since being placed on the 15-day injured list with an elbow injury at the end of April, though he reportedly threw off a mound Sunday to a standing catcher. The team has yet to reveal a concrete timetable for Gilbert's return. However, the right-hander will likely need to make at least one or two appearances in the minors before being activated.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Could return before end of month

Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto said Friday on MLB Network that he's "hopeful" Gilbert (elbow) will rejoin the rotation before the end of May, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports. Gilbert is on the 15-day injured list with a Grade 1 flexor strain in his pitching arm. He's about a week into a two-week shutdown period, so more should be known about a potential timeline for the right-hander late next week. It's not clear whether the Mariners will ask Gilbert to make a rehab start before returning.

  • Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Lands on IL with elbow strain

The Mariners placed Gilbert on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a right elbow flexor strain. Gilbert underwent an MRI on Saturday which revealed a Grade 1 flexor strain, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com. The good news is that the injury strain isn't more severe, but Gilbert will not throw for the next two weeks before being re-evaluated to determine the next steps in his recovery program.
