Rays' Bob Seymour: Out versus right-hander
Seymour is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cleveland, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Guardians right-handed starter Slade Cecconi has slight reverse splits, which helps explain why the left-handed-hitting Seymour will sit against a righty for the first time since he was promoted from Triple-A Durham earlier this month. Yandy Diaz will handle first base in Wednesday's rubber match.

Rays' Bob Seymour: Sitting against lefty
Seymour is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
With southpaw Matthew Liberatore on the hill for St. Louis, the left-handed-hitting Seymour will head to the bench while the Rays go with Yandy Diaz at first base and Christopher Morel at designated hitter in the series finale. Since being called up from Triple-A Durham on Aug. 15, Seymour has gone 4-for-24 (.167 average) with one home run and a 1:12 BB:K in seven games.

Rays' Bob Seymour: First big-league homer
Seymour went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI on Wednesday against the Yankees.
Seymour has started four of five games since having his contract selected by the Rays, only sitting against a left-handed pitcher. He recorded his first big-league home run in the eighth inning off Luke Weaver on Wednesday and later chipped in an RBI single. Seymour has gone only 3-for-16 with eight strikeouts to this point.

Rays' Bob Seymour: Staying in lineup vs. RHP
Seymour will start at first base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees.
He was on the bench for Tuesday's 13-3 loss while lefty Carlos Rodon took the hill for the Yankees, but the left-handed-hitting Seymour has otherwise started in all four of the Rays' matchups with right-handed pitchers since getting called up from Triple-A Durham on Friday. After slugging 30 home runs in 105 games for Durham this season, the 26-year-old has thus far looked overmatched against big-league pitching. He enters Wednesday's contest having gone 1-for-12 with a 1:6 BB:K through his first four MLB games.

Rays' Bob Seymour: Officially joins Tampa's roster
The Rays selected Seymour's contract from Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
The move is now official after Tampa Bay optioned Tristan Peters to Triple-A and released Logan Driscoll in order to make room for Seymour on the 40-man and 26-man rosters. Seymour is expected to see significant playing time at designated hitter for the Rays after smashing 30 home runs at Triple-A this season ahead of his promotion.

Rays' Bob Seymour: Headed to majors
The Rays are expected to select Seymour's contract from Triple-A Durham ahead of Friday's game against the Giants, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The 26-year-old Seymour will be making his MLB debut after being selected in the 13th round of the 2021 draft. Seymour has shown big power throughout his minor-league career and has slashed .263/.327/.553 with 30 home runs, 87 RBI, 70 runs scored, one stolen base and a 38:114 BB:K across 443 plate appearances at Triple-A this season. With Jonathan Aranda (wrist) still on the 10-day IL, Seymour could see regular playing time at first base or designated hitter.
