San Francisco designated Ramos for assignment Friday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Ramos was sent down to Triple-A Sacramento on June 5 after recording just two appearances with the big-league club. In two innings pitched, the 25-year-old gave up a combined five earned runs on five hits and four walks. The move was made in order to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Drew Cavanaugh.
