  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Taking seat Saturday

Duran isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. The Red Sox will use Saturday as a chance to rest many of their starters after securing a trip to the postseason Friday, which means Duran will retreat to the bench while Masataka Yoshida starts in left field and Rob Refsnyder serves as the DH.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Uses legs to score

Duran went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 6-3 win over Tampa Bay. After Duran helped win a game Friday with a two-run HR, he used his legs Saturday. He scored the game's first run in the third inning when he singled, stole second, then advanced to third and again to home on wild pitches by Rays starter Adrian Houser. The stolen base was Duran's 24th and the run scored his 84th of the season. Now that he's back in the leadoff spot, Duran could be good source of steals and runs over the final week of the regular season.

Duran went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 11-7 win over the Rays. Duran gave the Red Sox a lead they wouldn't relinquish with a two-run shot in the seventh inning. The 29-year-old has hit safely in eight of his past 10 games, tallying six extra-base hits, five RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base during that stretch. For the year, he's slashing .261/.335/.452 with 16 homers, 82 RBI, 83 runs scored and 23 steals across 663 plate appearances.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Resting Saturday

Duran isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports. Duran typically remains in the lineup against left-handed starters, but the Red Sox will use a matchup against southpaw Max Fried as an opportunity to get Duran a day off. Rob Refsnyder will take over in left field and bat fourth.

Duran went 2-for-5 with a double, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 7-0 win over the Athletics. This was Duran's first successful theft since Aug. 27 versus the Orioles. The speedy outfielder is up to 23 steals on 29 attempts this season, including five thefts over 33 contests since the beginning of August. Duran has added a .259/.334/.443 slash line with 14 home runs, 78 RBI, 78 runs scored, 37 doubles and 12 triples across 141 games.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Returns to leadoff against lefty

Duran batted leadoff and went 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's 10-5 loss to Arizona. This was the first time since June 8 that Duran batted leadoff against a left-handed starter. Since then, he was replaced atop the order against lefties and most righties by Roman Anthony (oblique), who landed on the injured list this week. Boston manager Alex Cora told Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com that he felt comfortable using Duran at leadoff against Arizona lefty Eduardo Rodriguez, and that Duran would most likely slip into the top spot in the order against all righties going forward.

Duran is not in Monday's lineup against the Guardians, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Duran sat out only two games in August, but he'll be out of the lineup against a lefty starter (Parker Messick) for the second straight matchup. With two outs and runners on the corners, Duran lined a ball between the center and right fielders that made its way to the warning track, resulting in an inside-the-park homer. • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Receiving series finale off

Duran is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports. More often than not, the left-handed-hitting Duran is typically included in the lineup when the Red Sox face left-handed starters, but the 28-year-old will retreat to the bench for Thursday's day game while southpaw Cade Povich toes the rubber for Baltimore. With Duran sitting, Jhostynxon Garcia will step in as the Red Sox's starting left fielder and will bat ninth.

The month of August has been a quiet one for the 28-year-old outfielder, who posted a potent 1.093 OPS through 23 games in July. Over his last 74 at-bats, Duran is hitting just .216 with five doubles, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored and three stolen bases.

Duran was responsible for three of Boston's five extra-base hits in the win, with his biggest knock being a two-run triple in the second inning. The speedy outfielder added another three-bagger in the sixth frame for the first multi-triple performance of his career. This was the first multi-hit game of any sort for Duran since July 9, as he had been slumping entering Saturday, batting just .161 with 13 strikeouts across 31 at-bats over his previous 10 contests.

Duran went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and three runs scored during Monday's 13-6 win over the Reds. Duran hit his second home run in June, and sixth on the season, to help pad the Red Sox lead after Cincinnati cut it down to three. He might have capped the month off well, but the 28-year-old has struggled at the plate in June, slashing .206/.287/.371 with season lows across the board for a single month this season. His .723 OPS for the season remains far off of his .834 mark in last year's All-Star campaign.

Duran went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Rays. It was the fifth round tripper of the campaign by Duran, who last homered back on May 24. Although the speedy outfielder has taken a bit of a step back in the power department so far -- he's slugging .428 this year after slugging .492 in 2024 -- he's been plenty productive despite the decrease in pop. Duran is batting .271 with 18 doubles, seven triples, 38 RBI, 38 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 299 at-bats, and he's tied for the American League lead in three-baggers.

  • Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Goes deep in twin bill

Duran went a combined 2-for-8 with a solo home run and a walk across Saturday's doubleheader split versus Baltimore. By failing to get aboard in Game 2, Duran's stretch of reaching base in 10 straight contests came to an end. He had batted .366 with a pair of homers and 12 RBI during the hot streak, and his season slash line now sits at .268/.319/.425 with four long balls, 33 RBI, 30 runs and 12 stolen bases through 248 plate appearances.

The outfielder has three multi-hit efforts over his past four games and is batting .368 (7-for-19) during that span. Duran is slashing a solid .262/.309/.406 on the campaign, but he has just three homers, and Saturday's long ball was his first since April 29 (a stretch of 15 games).
