  • Marlins' Griffin Conine: Goes yard in return to lineup

Conine went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-innings win over the Phillies.

Seeing his first game action since Apr. 19 due to shoulder surgery, Conine got the start in left field and batted eighth, and it was his long ball off David Robertson in the eighth inning that got the Marlins on the board and kicked off a rally from a 3-0 deficit. Conine will likely see consistent at-bats over the final week as Miami evaluates how he might fit into their 2026 roster plans, and through 76 plate appearances on the season the second-generation Marlin is slashing .275/.342/.464 with two homers, eight RBI and 12 runs.

  • Marlins' Griffin Conine: Returns from 60-day IL

The Marlins activated Conine (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Conine underwent surgery back in late April to repair a dislocated left shoulder, but he's managed to work his way back to participate in the final week of the regular season. The 28-year-old looked sharp during a nine-game rehab stint with Triple-A Jacksonville, slashing .292/.514/.583 with two home runs and an 11:9 BB:K. The left-handed-hitting Conine should see some playing time versus righties in the final week, though the Marlins are tentatively scheduled to face four lefties in their six games.

  • Marlins' Griffin Conine: Could return for final week

Manager Clayton McCullough said that the Marlins were set to decide Sunday whether Conine (shoulder) would be activated from the 60-day injured list for the final week of the regular season, MLB.com reports.

McCullough didn't tip his hand regarding the Marlins' plans for Conine, but the 28-year-old did his best during his recent minor-league rehab assignment to demonstrate that he had made a full recovery from the surgery he required in late April to address a dislocated left shoulder. Over nine games at Triple-A Jacksonville, Conine slashed .292/.514/.583 with two home runs and an 11:9 BB:K. He saw three starts in left field, three in right field and three as a designated hitter during his rehab assignment.

  • Marlins' Griffin Conine: Ready for rehab assignment

Conine (shoulder) is expected to join one of the Marlins' affiliates later this week to begin a rehab assignment, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

After undergoing surgery April 29 to address a dislocated left shoulder, Conine was presumed to be shut down for the season, but he's apparently progressed more rapidly than expected and is on the cusp of being cleared for game action. Given how much time he's missed, Conine is expected to need at least a week's worth of at-bats in the minors to find his swing and get comfortable playing the outfield again before the Marlins bring him back from the injured list. Before getting shut down with the shoulder injury, Conine had gotten off to a solid start to the season for Miami, slashing .281/.352/.438 with one home run and seven RBI over 20 games.

  • Marlins' Griffin Conine: Expected to miss rest of season

Conine is expected to miss the remainder of the 2025 season after undergoing surgery Tuesday to repair a dislocated left shoulder, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Conine suffered the injury earlier this month while sliding into second base. He is expected to be ready for spring training and should compete for a job in the Miami outfield in 2026.

Conine will meet with Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday before his operation, and afterward we may know more about the 27-year-old's chances of returning at some point this season. He had been slashing .281/.352/.438 through 71 plate appearances but was placed directly on the 60-day injured list Sunday after dislocating his shoulder.

  • Marlins' Griffin Conine: Placed on 60-day IL

The Marlins placed Conine on the 60-day injured list Sunday with a dislocated left shoulder.

The 27-year-old was enjoying a solid start to the campaign with a .790 OPS in 71 plate appearances, but he'll be out for at least the next two months after suffering a dislocated shoulder on a slide into second base Saturday. • Marlins' Griffin Conine: Exits Saturday's game

Conine left in the sixth inning of Saturday's game against the Phillies due to a left arm injury, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.

Conine drove in a two-run double in the sixth inning, but he appeared to injure his left arm while sliding into second base. He looked to be in serious pain after the slide and a trainer was holding his left arm while he walked off the field. Given the initial reaction, it wouldn't be surprising if Conine requires a trip to the injured list. The Marlins should update his status in the near future.

  • Marlins' Griffin Conine: Three-hit effort Wednesday

Conine went 3-for-6 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's extra-innings loss to the Mets.

Conine and Kyle Stowers are likely battling for one starting corner outfield spot once Sanchez gets healthy, and as yet neither has a clear advantage -- while Conine has made more consistent contact, Stowers has drawn six walks and boasts a .462 OBP in his six appearances.
