  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Four hits in return to lineup

Lee went 4-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Rockies.

Making his return from a minimum IL stay due to a mid-back strain, Lee recorded his second four-hit game of the season. After grounding out in his first plate appearance, Lee went 4-for-4 the rest of the night and smacked his 11th double in the eighth inning. Lee is slashing .283/.323/.402 with three homers, 17 RBI, 22 runs scored and a 10:22 BB:K across 198 trips to the plate this season. He hits for average and doesn't strike out but also doesn't possess much power or steal bases.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Back from injured list

The Giants activated Lee (back) from the 10-day injured list, and he will start in right field and bat sixth against the Rockies on Friday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Lee will end up spending the minimum amount of time on the 10-day IL after recovering from a back strain, and he'll be back in action for Friday's series opener. Prior to his injury, Lee was slashing .268/.311/.385 with three home runs, 17 RBI and 20 runs over 193 plate appearances.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Could be activated Friday

Lee (back) could be activated from the 10-day injured list this weekend, Kevin Borba of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Lee has been shelved since early last week with a back strain, but he resumed baseball activities Tuesday and could skip a rehab assignment. The Giants optioned Will Brennan to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday and did not announce a corresponding roster move, which could point to Lee being back in action Friday in Colorado on the first day he's eligible to be activated.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Moves to injured list

The Giants placed Lee on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Tuesday, with a mid-back strain.

Lee hasn't played since making an early exit from Monday's contest with what was initially labeled as back spasms. Upon further evaluation, the Giants determined the 27-year-old had suffered a strain, so they'll stash him away on the IL for at least a week. Will Brennan is a candidate to receive the bulk of starts in right field as long as Lee is sidelined, and Victor Bericoto will come up from Triple-A to replenish the big club's outfield depth.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Not yet ready to start

Lee (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

According to MLB.com, Lee has shown significant improvement since being lifted from Monday's 12-2 loss due to back spasms, but he'll miss out on a second straight start nonetheless. The Giants expect Lee to avoid a trip to the injured list, and he could be ready to return to the lineup Friday against the White Sox following Thursday's team off day.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Expected to sit Tuesday

Lee (back) will be held out of Tuesday's lineup against the Diamondbacks, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Lee was pulled from Monday's game after experiencing back spasms, and the team will give him at least one day to rest before putting him back on the field. Drew Gilbert or Will Brennan could draw the start in right field Tuesday in Lee's place.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Lifted with back spasms

Lee was removed from Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks due to back spasms, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Lee will likely be sent for further evaluation to determine whether he'll need a stint on the injured list. He can be considered day-to-day until the club has another update to share. Will Brennan took over in right field Monday in Lee's absence.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Getting rare day off

Lee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Lee has a .203/.239/.281 slash line through 15 games in May and will head to the bench after a run of 34 consecutive starts. Eric Haase, Harrison Bader and Drew Gilbert will start from left to right in the outfield in Sunday's series finale at Sacramento.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Logs inside-the-park homer

Lee went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Thursday.

Lee got some help on his inside-the-park job, as Dodgers left fielder Teoscar Hernandez appeared to assume Lee's blooper would bounce into the stands for a ground-rule double. Instead, the ball rolled to the outfield wall, and Lee was able to round the bases just ahead of a relay throw to home plate. It was Lee's first career inside-the-park homer and his 13th home run through 230 career regular-season games. He's been productive over his past seven games, going 9-for-32 (.281 average) with three extra-base hits, four RBI and three runs.

Lee went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a double in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Dodgers.

Lee hit a two-run double to right field in the seventh inning, driving in San Francisco's final pair of runs. He also added a single in the ninth, marking his third multi-hit performance over the last five games. The 27-year-old outfielder is now slashing .272/.316/.386 with 17 runs scored, 14 RBI, two home runs and zero steals across 171 plate appearances this season.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Tallies four hits in win

Lee went 4-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-3 victory over the Marlins.

Lee's hot stretch continued, as he has now recorded multiple hits in three consecutive games following Sunday's four-hit effort. After an extremely cold start to the season, the outfielder has stepped it up significantly of late, slashing .439/.467/.667 with two homers, five RBI and 10 runs over his past 15 games. Lee has primarily hit sixth this season but moved into the leadoff spot with Willy Adames getting the day off to close the series.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Pops second homer

Lee went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Marlins.

Lee has hit pretty well lately, going 19-for-49 (.388) over his last 13 contests, a span that includes both of his homers on the season. He started slowly, but he's up to a .275 average, .727 OPS, 10 RBI, 10 runs scored and six doubles through 26 contests. Lee has yet to attempt a stolen base, but his steady playing time and strong plate discipline make him a fantasy option as a rate-stat stabilizer.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: In lineup for Wednesday's contest

Lee (leg) is starting in right field and batting sixth against the Dodgers on Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Lee was removed from the sixth inning of Tuesday's game due an apparent left leg injury that he sustained on an awkward slide into home plate, but he's back in the starting nine a day later. Lee has six multi-hit games over his last 10 outings, and over that span he has gone 15-for-39 (.385) with one home run, four RBI, three doubles and three runs scored.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Exits with injury

Lee was removed from Tuesday's game against the Dodgers with an apparent leg injury, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Lee was slow to get up after sliding awkwardly on his left leg while getting thrown out at home plate in the sixth inning, and the Giants made to call to take him out of the game in the eighth. Manager Tony Vitello said after the game that Lee has been a bit banged up recently by a series of hard slides, so he was removed as a precaution, per Pavlovic. If he ends up having to miss a start, Will Brennan or Jerar Encarnacion would be next in line to start in right field.

  • Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Three-hit day in win

Lee went 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored during Thursday's 3-0 win over the Reds.

Lee notched his second three-hit game of the season and fourth multi-hit game over the last week. The 27-year-old clinched the latter of those two feats Thursday with an RBI single as part of the three-run seventh inning that accounted for the only offense of the game. Across the last six contests, Lee has gone 10-for-23 (.435 batting average) with three doubles, a home run and three RBI while striking out just twice.
