Twins' Walker Jenkins: Nearing rehab assignment
Jenkins (shoulder) could start a rehab assignment with Single-A Fort Myers as soon as Saturday, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.
Jenkins, one of the Twins' top prospects, has been on Triple-A St. Paul's 7-day injured list since early May due to a Grade 2 AC join sprain in his left shoulder. He's on the cusp of embarking on a rehab assignment, and if that goes well, he could be back in Triple-A by late June. Prior to his injury, Jenkins was slashing .256/.396/.389 with five steals, two homers and nine RBI over 111 plate appearances with St. Paul.

Twins' Walker Jenkins: Hitting again
Jenkins (shoulder) recently resumed hitting against live pitching and could soon head out on a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.
One of the Twins' top prospects, Jenkins might have already made his MLB debut had multiple injuries over his first four seasons in the professional ranks not cost him development time. He's currently on the mend from a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, which forced him to Triple-A St. Paul's 7-day injured list May 5. Now that he's reached a major milestone in the recovery process by facing live pitching in addition to taking part in defensive work, Jenkins appears to be closing in on a return to game action. The 21-year-old outfielder had slashed .256/.396/.389 with two home runs and five stolen bases across 111 plate appearances for St. Paul before hitting the shelf.

Twins' Walker Jenkins: Nearing baseball activity
Twins manager Jeremy Zoll said Saturday that Jenkins (shoulder) is "reporting improvements daily" and could begin light baseball activity in about a week, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Jenkins slashed .256/.396/.389 with two home runs, five stolen bases and a 17.4 percent walk rate over 111 plate appearances at Triple-A St. Paul to begin the season before sustaining a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder May 3. Though the young outfielder seems to be making good progress in his recovery, Zoll said that Jenkins is about a month away from returning to game action. If Jenkins can return to action for St. Paul by late June, he should still have a chance at making his MLB debut at some point in the second half of the season.

Twins' Walker Jenkins: Out with Grade 2 shoulder sprain
Jenkins was diagnosed Monday with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder and will be re-evaluated in 10 days, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Jenkins sustained the injury after crashing into the center field wall while making a catch during Sunday's Triple-A contest. The 21-year-old outfielder will likely need a stint on the 7-day IL, and St. Paul should provide clarity on a recovery timeline once Jenkins' shoulder has had some time to heal. One of Minnesota's top prospects, Jenkins is slashing .256/.396/.389 with five steals and two home runs across 111 plate appearances with St. Paul this season.

Twins' Walker Jenkins: Suffers shoulder injury
Jenkins suffered a left shoulder injury and was removed from Sunday's contest with Triple-A St. Paul in the sixth inning, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.
Jenkins crashed into the center field wall while making a catch with two outs in the top of the sixth inning, and he was promptly removed from the contest while favoring his left shoulder. The 21-year-old is considered to be the Twins' No. 1 prospect and the No. 11 overall prospect in MLB Pipeline's Top 100, and he's produced a .256 average with two home runs, nine RBI, 15 runs scored and five stolen bases over 90 at-bats in 25 contests with St. Paul this season. More information on the outfielder's status will likely be provided in the near future.

Twins' Walker Jenkins: Being eased into action
Jenkins (hamstring) went 1-for-4 with a run scored Friday in Triple-A St. Paul's 4-2 win over Indianapolis. Jenkins will play only seven innings in games throughout the next week as part of his buildup from a hamstring strain, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
After sustaining a Grade 1 left hamstring strain early in spring training, Jenkins didn't see any Grapefruit League action after Feb. 28 but was able to avoid a stint on St. Paul's injured list to begin the season. Because he missed considerable time in spring training, Jenkins will be eased into action early in the season. Jenkins sat out Saturday and is expected to be limited to playing seven innings in games throughout the next week before being cleared for full nine-inning games beginning April 7, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic.
