  • Marlins' Adrian Santana: Flipped to Miami

    The Marlins acquired Santana, infielder Brayden Taylor and right-hander Jacob Kisting from the Rays on Monday in exchange for catcher Liam Hicks, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

    The 21-year-old Santana has hit .316/.381/.400 with three home runs, 23 stolen bases and a 19:23 BB:K over 51 contests with High-A Bowling Green this season. Santana was a first-round pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft and has been used mainly at shortstop in pro ball, though he's also gotten some work at second base.

  • Rays' Adrian Santana: Hits ground running in IL return

    Santana (hamstring) went 3-for-6 with a double, two steals and two runs Saturday after being reinstated from High-A Bowling Green's 7-day injured list.

    Santana was on the shelf for just over seven weeks while recovering from a hamstring strain. The switch-hitting shortstop has produced at a high level when available for Bowling Green this season, slashing .313/.381/.400 with three home runs and 23 stolen bases in 47 games.

    Santana (hamstring) began a rehab assignment Friday with the Florida Complex League Rays, Ian Cundall of Baseball America reports.

    High-A Bowling Green placed Santana on the 7-day injured list June 6 with a hamstring strain. Known for his slick defense at shortstop, the switch-hitting Santana slashed .309/.379/.393 with a career-high three home runs and career-best 10.3 percent strikeout rate while notching 21 steals in 47 games prior to the injury.
