  • Mariners' Jonny Farmelo: Returns from IL

Farmelo (rib) has gone 2-for-10 with two doubles, two RBI and one run in two games since being reinstated from High-A Everett's 7-day injured list Saturday. Farmelo missed nearly two and a half months of action due to a stress reaction in his rib before making his return to the Everett lineup. Over 78 plate appearances with the High-A club this season, Farmelo has slashed .286/.346/.629 with six home runs.

  • Mariners' Jonny Farmelo: Out with rib injury

High-A Everett placed Farmelo on its 7-day injured list June 1 due to a stress reaction in his rib, Cameron Van Til of SeattleSports.com reports. Farmelo last appeared in a game May 23 before being placed on the shelf just over a week later. Mariners general manager Justin Hollander announced last Friday that Farmelo is facing a 4-to-6-week recovery timeline, so the 20-year-old outfield prospect looks like he'll be on the shelf at least through the All-Star break. Farmelo got off to a delayed start to the 2025 campaign while completing his recovery from the torn ACL in his right knee that he suffered last June, but he had been productive at the plate prior to suffering the rib injury, slashing .300/.368/.667 over 16 games. However, after swiping 18 bags in 45 games at Single-A Modesto in 2024, Farmelo had been conservative on the basepaths coming off the knee surgery, as he has yet to even attempt a steal in 2025.

  • Mariners' Jonny Farmelo: Ready for season debut

Farmelo (knee) was added to the High-A Everett roster Tuesday. Farmelo is coming back from a torn ACL in his right knee suffered last June and a previous report indicated he wouldn't be ready to make his season debut until midseason. However, it appears he's ready to go now. The 20-year-old boasts exciting dynasty league potential, having slashed .264/.398/.421 with four homers and 18 stolen bases in 45 games with Single-A Modesto in 2024 before getting hurt.

  • Mariners' Jonny Farmelo: Expected to miss half of 2025

Farmelo (knee) is not expected to be able to play until midseason in 2025, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. Farmelo suffered a torn ACL in his right knee in June and it'll apparently keep him sidelined for a chunk of the 2025 campaign. The 20-year-old produced a .264 average with four home runs, 25 RBI, 38 runs scored and 18 stolen bases over 178 at-bats in 45 games with Single-A Modesto before sustaining the injury in 2024.

  • Mariners' Jonny Farmelo: Suffers torn ACL

Single-A Modesto placed Farmelo on its 7-day injured list Friday after he was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. Farmelo, one of the Mariners' top prospects, suffered the injury Tuesday and is slated to undergo season-ending surgery in the coming days. He was off to a strong start to the season with Modesto, slashing .264/.398/.421 slash line with 18 steals in 221 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' Jonny Farmelo: Heating up for Modesto

Farmelo is hitting .368 with a .500 OBP, three doubles, four steals and an 11:9 K:BB in his last 10 games for Single-A Modesto. The athletic center fielder has a 133 wRC+, 17.2 percent walk rate and a 24.6 percent strikeout rate in 28 games after failing to make his pro debut last year after getting drafted with the 29th overall pick. Farmelo turns 20 in September, and it would make sense for him to get a bump to High-A Everett in the coming weeks.
