Eldridge (hamstring) has gone 1-for-9 with a walk and two RBI in three games for Triple-A Sacramento since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list Thursday.
Eldridge had been on the IL since June 24 due to a hamstring injury, but he was cleared to return to the Sacramento coming out of the All-Star break after he played in a pair of rehab games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League laat week. Since receiving a promotion from Double-A Richmond in early June, Eldridge is slashing .214/.269/.386 with three home runs in 19 games at the Triple-A level.

Eldridge started at first base in both contests and could be ready to return from Triple-A Sacramento's 7-day injured list when the affiliate opens up its post-All-Star-break schedule Friday. While the 20-year-old profiles as the Giants' first baseman of the future, he may not be in line for much more than a September call-up in 2025. Between stops at Double-A Richmond and at Sacramento prior to his rehab assignment, Eldridge slashed .263/.329/.484 with 10 home runs over 50 games.

Eldridge got a late start to the season while recovering from a wrist injury, but he earned a promotion to Sacramento after slashing .280/.350/.512 with seven home runs in 34 games at Double-A Richmond. While Eldridge is just 20 years old, he could push to debut for the Giants this season, as the club has a clear opening at first base.

Eldridge is in the midst of a four-game hitting streak and has notched at least one hit in 15 of his 19 appearances this month. The 20-year-old first baseman has been productive in May, slashing .338/.397/.577 with 12 RBI, nine runs scored, four homers and a 23.1 percent strikeout rate. The 16th overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Eldridge could soon make a case for a promotion to Triple-A Sacramento, where he finished the 2024 campaign.
Eldridge is slashing .316/.395/.474 with one home run, a 9.3 percent walk rate and a 34.9 percent strikeout rate in 10 games for Double-A Richmond.
He is in the midst of a seven-game hit streak. Eldridge spent the bulk of 2024 in the lower levels before getting nine games at Double-A and eight games at Triple-A to close the year. He was sent back to Double-A after dealing with a wrist injury for much of spring and made his season debut April 22. Eldridge will need to get his strikeout rate into a manageable range before getting the bump to Triple-A.

Eldridge missed some time in spring training with a sore left wrist, and while the fact that he's resumed playing in simulated games in camp suggests he's healthy again, the Giants still want to be cautious with the 20-year-old. As a result, the team may prefer to have the first baseman stockpile at-bats in a controlled setting for the time being. Eldridge saw action at four different minor-league levels in 2024, but the vast majority of his playing time came at Single-A San Jose and High-A Eugene, with whom he combined to hit 22 home runs over 444 plate appearances. Eldridge couldn't be stopped at High-A, slashing .333/.442/.615 with 12 home runs, 41 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases over 48 contests. The top prospect will close out the year with a taste of Double-A, which is where he is likely to begin in 2025. A strong campaign next year could position him for his major-league debut in the second half of 2025.
