  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Nabs save in Game 2

Munoz retired the side in order in the ninth inning against the Tigers on Sunday to earn the save in Game 2 of the American League Division Series. He struck out one batter. After the M's took the lead in the bottom of the eighth, Munoz nailed down the win -- the organization's first home playoff win since 2001. Munoz took a loss to the Dodgers during the final weekend of the regular season, ending a streak of nine consecutive scoreless appearances, but he's bounced back in a big way with three perfect innings so far in the ALDS, and he now has his first career postseason save. The 26-year-old right-hander has emerged as one of the game's top closers, posting a 1.73 ERA and 1.03 WHIP to go along with a career-high 38 saves during the regular season.

Munoz picked up the save Tuesday against the Rockies, striking out two over a perfect inning. Munoz carved through the Rockies in the ninth inning, notching two strikeouts to preserve a Mariners win and clinch a postseason berth. The hard-throwing righty has been dominant all season, logging a 1.47 ERA and 0.99 WHIP across 61.1 innings. His 38 saves rank third in the majors, behind only Robert Suarez and Carlos Estevez.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Collects three Ks in save

Munoz earned the save Thursday against the Royals, striking out three and allowing one hit in a scoreless ninth inning. Tasked with protecting a two-run lead, Munoz worked around a Vinnie Pasquantino double and a hit batter to lock down his 36th save of the season. It was just the second time this year that the right-hander has struck out three batters in an appearance. After a rocky stretch in which Munoz allowed runs in three of five outings, he's now strung together six consecutive scoreless appearances. The 26-year-old has been one of the league's top closers this season, ranking third in MLB in saves while carrying a 1.54 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 78:25 K:BB across 58.1 innings.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Locks down 33rd save

Munoz picked up the save in Monday's 4-2 win over the Cardinals. He allowed no hits and a walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning. The hard-throwing righty made quick work of St. Louis, issuing only a one-out walk to Ivan Herrera before striking out Alec Burleson and Nolan Gorman to secure his 33rd save of the season. It was Munoz's first outing since Aug. 31, as Seattle's schedule since then featured a four-game losing skid followed by back-to-back blowout wins over Atlanta that didn't require his services.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Hangs on for 31st save

Munoz earned the save in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Padres, allowing a run on two hits in the ninth inning. Munoz allowed a run on a pair of doubles in the ninth inning, though he managed to strand the tying run on third base to pick up his 31st save this year. While Munoz has converted 10 straight save chances, he's been a bit shaky of late, allowing a run in three of his last four appearances. Overall, the right-hander sports a 1.56 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 66:24 K:BB across 52 innings this season.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Sloppy in 30th save

Munoz allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out two over one inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Athletics. Munoz gave up three straight one-out singles to bring in a run, and then loaded the bases with a walk. He was able to get the last two outs, but this was far from a pretty effort from the Seattle closer. He's given up two runs on seven hits and six walks while striking out nine over eight innings in August, picking up six saves in his eight appearances. Munoz is at a 1.47 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 63:24 K:BB through 49 innings this season. He reached the 30-save mark for the first time in his career by closing out Friday's game.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Survives rough inning for save

Munoz earned a save against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing one run on one hit and two walks while striking out one batter over one inning. Munoz entered with a three-run cushion in the ninth frame, but the last-place White Sox certainly made him work for the save. Munoz's outing began with a solo homer by Michael Taylor, and the All-Star closer then walked the next two batters to put the tying runs on base with no outs. However, Munoz was able to right the ship, retiring the next three batters to escape the jam. Though his eight-game scoreless streak came to an end, he nabbed his 26th save of the campaign, tied for fourth most in the majors.

Munoz tallied the save in Sunday's 1-0 victory over the Pirates, striking out one in a clean inning. Munoz has now completed nine consecutive appearances without allowing an earned run, over which he's pitched to a 0.82 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB across 7.1 innings. The flamethrowing right-hander was deservedly named to his second All-Star team Sunday, as he's pitched to a 1.06 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 45:13 K:BB over 34 total innings.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Second blown save vs. Yankees

Munoz blew the save Tuesday against the Yankees after allowing one unearned run in the ninth inning. He struck out one. It was the second blown save of the year by Munoz, whose run allowed went unearned due to a throwing error by Dylan Moore as he tried to throw a runner out at home plate. As a result, Munoz is still without an earned run on his ledger in 2025, and he also sports a 0.79 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB over 19 innings. Despite Tuesday's blown save, Munoz still leads the American League with 13 saves this season as Seattle's clear-cut closer.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Takes blown save in 10th inning

Munoz allowed an unearned run on a hit and walk while striking out three over one inning to take a blown save in Monday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Athletics. Munoz's scoreless run to start the season ended on the first pitch of this appearance, as he allowed an RBI single by Jacob Wilson to knock in game-tying run to begin the 10th inning. Munoz then loaded the bases before striking out Lawrence Butler, Brent Rooker and Tyler Soderstrom in order to send the game to the 11th, where the Mariners ultimately lost on another Wilson hit. Since it was a ghost runner that scored, Munoz still has a sparkling 0.00 ERA to go with a 0.82 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB across 17 innings this season. However, he's now 12-for-13 in save chances, though this is shaping up to be the year he enters elite status among major-league closers.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Bounces back in second spring game

Munoz hurled a scoreless inning in Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Royals, giving up one hit while striking out two. Munoz appeared to be sharper Wednesday, considering he surrendered one run on two hits during his first appearance earlier this spring. The hard-throwing right-hander was a first-time All-Star in 2024 while operating as Seattle's primary closer, and the Mariners solidified his status this past offseason by letting Yimi Garcia go and not making any noteworthy additions to the bullpen. Munoz has dominant stuff, as evidenced by his 33.2 percent strikeout rate a year ago, but he may need to improve a bit on his 11.2 percent walk rate to avoid having his job security threatened atop the bullpen pecking order.

  • Mariners' Andres Munoz: Takes seventh loss

Munoz (3-7) allowed a run on two hits and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Sunday versus the Rangers. He entered Sunday on a five-inning scoreless streak before this hiccup. Munoz has maintained a 2.16 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 76:26 K:BB over 58.1 innings while adding 22 saves in 27 chances and six holds this season.
