Red Sox's Luis Guerrero: Shifts to 60-day IL
The Red Sox transferred Guerrero (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Guerrero landed on the injured list in late June with a strained right elbow, and his move to the IL will ensure he remains on the shelf until at least Aug. 27. He'll also cede his spot on the 40-man roster to Nick Burdi (hip), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday and optioned to Triple-A.

Red Sox's Luis Guerrero: Lands on IL with elbow strain
The Red Sox placed Guerrero on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a right elbow strain.
Guerrero allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out one batter over his last two outings, and his elbow injury may have played a part in his recent poor performance. He's eligible to be reinstated July 13, but a strained elbow to the throwing arm typically results in a longer-than-minimum stint on the IL. To bolster their bullpen, the Red Sox reinstated Chris Murphy (elbow) from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

Red Sox's Luis Guerrero: Returns to big leagues
The Red Sox recalled Guerrero from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.
He'll be joining the bullpen as a replacement for right-hander Justin Slaten (shoulder), who was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Guerrero had two stints with the big club earlier this season, making four relief appearances while logging a 1.69 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 5.1 innings. Expect the Red Sox to use him primarily in lower-leverage spots.

The Red Sox optioned Guerrero to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Guerrero was up with the big club for just one day and will be sent back to the minors after giving up an earned run on two hits and three walks over 1.1 innings in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. Right-hander Zack Kelly was recalled from Triple-A to take Guerrero's spot in the bullpen.

Red Sox's Luis Guerrero: Optioned to Triple-A
The Red Sox optioned Guerrero to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Guerrero struck out 10 over 5.2 innings this spring but also walked nine and surrendered six runs. The 24-year-old was terrific during a cup of coffee in the majors last season -- allowing just one unearned run over 10 innings -- and should get another opportunity in the big leagues sooner rather than later.

Red Sox's Luis Guerrero: Set for big-league debut
Guerrero's contract was selected from Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Sean McAdam of MassLive.com reports.
Guerrero is a 24-year-old righty reliever who will be making his big-league debut when he gets into a game. A 17th-round selection in 2021, Guerrero logged a 3.31 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 79:32 K:BB in 54.1 innings across 42 appearances at Triple-A. He has a plus fastball and solid secondaries, but his poor control may limit him to low-leverage work initially.
