Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Getting breather Saturday
Ramirez is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.
Ramirez will get the afternoon off Saturday after making 14 consecutive starts. He went 15-for-57 (.263) with a pair of home runs and four stolen bases during that stretch. Liam Hicks will draw the start behind the plate while Troy Johnston slots in at DH.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Swipes two bags in win
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Friday's 6-2 win over the Mets.
The rookie catcher has showed off his speed during the second half of the season -- he now has five multi-steal games since the start of August. Ramirez has still cooled down considerably at the dish after a torrid start to his major-league career, as he has a .639 OPS since the beginning of July, but he still looks like Miami's backstop for the future. Through 531 at-bats, Ramirez is batting .232 with 21 homers, 33 doubles, 67 RBI and 16 stolen bases.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Clubs homer in victory
Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 8-4 win against the Rockies.
Ramirez's first RBI came on a sacrifice fly that snapped a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning. Two frames later, he provided a pair of insurance runs with a two-run blast to left-center field. Ramirez extended his hitting streak to eight games with the homer, and he's batting an even .300 (9-for-30) with two long balls and six RBI during that stretch. He's been a valuable contributor at the catcher position for fantasy managers, posting a .231/.289/.420 slash line with 21 home runs, 29 doubles, 67 runs, 66 RBI and 12 stolen bases over 126 games as a rookie.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Reaches 20 homers
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Friday's 8-2 win over the Tigers.
Ramirez put the Marlins in front early Friday by taking Tarik Skubal (side) deep in the first inning, giving the 24-year-old backstop 20 home runs in his rookie campaign. Ramirez has also amassed 63 RBI, 64 runs scored and 12 steals this season while slashing .228/.286/.415 across 525 plate appearances.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Rare day off Wednesday
Ramirez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
It seems like a good time for a breather for Ramirez, who is just 4-for-31 with zero extra-base hits so far this month. Liam Hicks will do the catching and Heriberto Hernandez will be the designated hitter for the Marlins.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Goes deep in win
Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's win against the Mets.
Ramirez snapped a 12-game homerless drought with his two-run blast in the third inning Sunday. He's up to 19 on the year, though just two of those have come in his last 26 appearances. Ramirez was stuck in a 4-for-33 (.121) skid over nine contests before collecting multiple hits in back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday. He's now slashing .233/.290/.430 with 48 extra-base hits and 60 RBI through 482 plate appearances.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Swipes bag in win
Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-8 win over the Mets.
Ramirez sparked the offense late, singling and scoring in the seventh inning before adding a double, swiping a bag and crossing the plate again in the ninth. He's hit just .208 over 27 August games but has made his mark on the bases with eight steals in that span, trailing only Cal Raleigh among backstops with 11 on the season. It's been a strong rookie campaign overall for Ramirez, who's slashing .231/.287/.422 with 18 homers, 58 RBI and 59 runs scored across 477 plate appearances.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Rare day off Wednesday
Ramirez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Since getting the call to the big leagues April 21, Ramirez has shouldered one of the heavier workloads among all backstops in baseball, as he's often served as the designated hitter on his non-catching days. The Marlins will give Ramirez a rare day off from both playing defense and hitting, as he'll take a seat after starting in each of the last 14 games. Liam Hicks will step in behind the plate Wednesday, and Heriberto Hernandez will get the nod at DH.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Swipes bag No. 10
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Blue Jays.
The 23-year-old backstop swiped his 10th bag in 105 big-league games, and between the majors and Triple-A this season, Ramirez is 15-for-17 on steal attempts. The speed offers an extra element to his fantasy appeal, but he's also slugged 18 homers with 57 RBI in his first taste of the Show, and his .232/.288/.430 slash line is significantly below his expected numbers based on the underlying metrics -- his bat speed is in the 89th percentile, while his average exit velocity (75th percentile) and hard-hit rate (73rd percentile) are strong as well. Ramirez seems poised to emerge as one of the league's top offensive catchers as soon as 2026.
