  • Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Swipes bag No. 10

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Blue Jays.

The 23-year-old backstop swiped his 10th bag in 105 big-league games, and between the majors and Triple-A this season, Ramirez is 15-for-17 on steal attempts. The speed offers an extra element to his fantasy appeal, but he's also slugged 18 homers with 57 RBI in his first taste of the Show, and his .232/.288/.430 slash line is significantly below his expected numbers based on the underlying metrics -- his bat speed is in the 89th percentile, while his average exit velocity (75th percentile) and hard-hit rate (73rd percentile) are strong as well. Ramirez seems poised to emerge as one of the league's top offensive catchers as soon as 2026.

  • Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Homers in loss

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Red Sox.

Ramirez came alive late, smacking a solo homer in the seventh inning before singling and scoring again in the ninth. It marked his first long ball since Aug. 2, though he's hit safely in five of his past six games with four RBI and five runs scored in that span. On the year, the rookie is slashing .237/.286/.443 with 18 homers, 56 RBI, 53 runs scored and seven steals across 423 plate appearances.

  • Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Receiving rare day off

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Atlanta.

The 23-year-old rookie will get a much-deserved breather after he had started at either catcher or designated hitter in 41 straight games. With Ramirez resting, Liam Hicks will fill in behind the plate and Kyle Stowers will serve as Miami's DH.

  • Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Swipes two bags in win

Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases in Wednesday's win over the Astros.

The rookie backstop is heating up again. Ramirez is batting .290 (9-for-31) over the last eight games, but he's doing more damage with his legs than his bat, swiping five of his seven bags on the season during that span while adding two homers, three runs and five RBI. The 23-year-old showed speed as well as power in the minors, including a 17-for-18 performance on the basepaths over 97 games between Double-A and Triple-A in 2024. Despite not getting called up by the Marlins until late April, Ramirez is on track for a 20-10 campaign in his MLB debut.

  • Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Powers offense with two homers

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs Saturday in a 2-0 win against the Yankees.

Ramirez provided all the offense in the contest, smashing a solo homer in the first and fourth frames. The first-year backstop is making a serious case for Rookie of the Year consideration, slashing .244/.289/.471 with 17 home runs, 48 runs, 50 RBI and five stolen bases through 85 games. Among major-league rookies, only Nick Kurtz has more homers (23) or RBI (50) than Ramirez.

  • Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Collects two steals in win

Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a walk, two stolen bases, two RBI and one run in Friday's 13-12 win over the Yankees.

After pilfering a bag in his MLB debut April 21, Ramirez went without a steal for 76 straight games before recently increasing his involvement in the running game. In his last seven starts, Ramirez has now gone 4-for-4 on stolen-base attempts while also chipping in three extra-base hits (one home run, two doubles) during that span. The 23-year-old continues to occupy a prominent spot in the Miami lineup, and his ability to contribute both as a power hitter and occasionally on the basepaths should make him a must-roster option even in one-catcher leagues for the rest of the season.

The rookie catcher wraps up an impressive first half by scoring multiple runs for the third time in the last seven games, a stretch in which he's batting .250 (7-for-28) with five doubles and a homer. Ramirez had provided some big-time power to the Marlins' lineup since his promotion in late April, and through his first 71 big-league contests he boasts a .242/.289/.470 slash line with 35 extra-base hits, including 14 home runs.

While the rookie catcher doesn't reach base at a high clip, carrying a .299 OBP with a 6.2 percent walk rate, his power has been a clear strength. Ramirez has racked up 15 doubles and 12 home runs over 57 games for a .478 SLG.

He's added 12 homers, 30 RBI, 28 runs scored, 12 doubles and one stolen base through his first 55 MLB contests.
