Angels' Luke Murphy: Officially added to roster

The Angels selected Murphy's contract from Double-A Rocket City on Friday. Murphy has turned in a dominant 0.71 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 47:10 K:BB over 38 innings with Rocket City this season. Presuming he gets into a game, it would be the 26-year-old's major-league debut.

Angels' Luke Murphy: Slated for big-league promotion

The Angels are expected to promote Murphy from Double-A Rocket City before this weekend's series against the Brewers, Taylor Blake Ward of TheSportingTribune.com reports. Murphy is old for the Southern League at 26, but he's nonetheless had a dominant season with a 0.71 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 47:10 K:BB over 38 innings. The right-handed reliever will need to be added to the 40-man roster in addition to the 26-man active roster.
