Henderson is on the 60-day injured list while recovering from a right flexor strain, an injury that occurred in early August. However, he's made progress in his recovery and the Brewers are hopeful that the rookie right-hander will be available at some point during the postseason.

The Brewers announced Wednesday that Henderson (elbow) has resumed playing catch out to 90 feet, MLB.com reports.
After being placed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 8 due to a right flexor tendon strain before being shifted to the 60-day IL a few weeks later, Henderson won't be eligible to return before the end of the regular season. However, the Brewers are leaving the door open for Henderson to be activated at some point during the postseason, though a return would be contingent on him avoiding any setbacks during the ramp-up process. Even if his throwing program proceeds smoothly, Henderson likely won't be able to get stretched out enough to handle a starting role in October, so the Brewers would presumably have him prepare for a multi-inning relief gig.

The Brewers transferred Henderson (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.
After being shelved Aug. 8 due to a right flexor tendon strain, Henderson had been cleared to initiate plyometric work earlier this week with the hope of beginning a throwing program in the near future and returning at the tail end of the regular season. However, his move to the 60-day IL suggests that Henderson didn't respond as well to the initial workouts as well as the Brewers had hoped, and he'll now be shut down for the remainder of the season. Before sustaining the injury, Henderson was magnificent over his five starts with Milwaukee, going 3-0 with a 1.78 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 33:8 K:BB in 25.1 innings. Assuming his flexor strain is of a low or moderate grade and doesn't require a procedure, Henderson should be back to full health for spring training and will get the chance to compete for a full-time rotation spot with Milwaukee in 2026.

Henderson (elbow), who was placed on the injured list earlier Friday, has been diagnosed with a right flexor strain, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Although the injury is significant enough to cause Henderson to miss his next turn through the rotation and land on the shelf, imaging revealed that the right-hander didn't suffer any damage to his UCL. Manager Pat Murphy said the diagnosis was better than what the team was expecting, adding that he doesn't expect the 23-year-old to be out for an extended period of time. Tobias Myers was recalled from Triple-A Nashville and will start Saturday's contest in place of Henderson, though that spot in the rotation will eventually fall to Jacob Misiorowski (tibia), who could return from the IL next week.

Henderson had been tasked with filling in for Jacob Misiorowski (tibia) and threw 4.1 innings in a start last Sunday versus the Nationals. Henderson was slated to make his second turn through the rotation Saturday versus the Mets, but he'll instead head to the IL due to the elbow issue. The Brewers haven't named a replacement in the rotation for the 23-year-old, but Tobias Myers was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move and would be a logical candidate to make a spot start. Considering Misiorowski is expected to be healthy by the time Henderson is eligible for reinstatement, Henderson could be optioned to Nashville once he's activated.

The rookie right-hander will make his second straight turn through the rotation in place of Jacob Misiorowski (tibia). After being recalled from Triple-A Nashville last weekend, Henderson took a no-decision in this past Sunday's win over the Nationals, covering 4.1 innings while striking out four and allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks. The Brewers seem optimistic that Misiorowski is on track to return from the IL when first eligible Aug. 15, so Henderson may not be in line for additional starts beyond Saturday.

Henderson will take over the rotation spot of Jacob Misiorowski, who was unexpectedly placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a left tibia contusion. Though Misiorowski has drawn far more buzz, Henderson was arguably just as impressive over his first four MLB starts, logging a 1.71 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB in 21 innings. Since returning to Nashville, Henderson's ratios haven't been quite as eye-popping (4.34 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 47:13 K:BB in 47.2 innings). He should be in line for at least two turns through the rotation, and maybe more if Misiorowski isn't ready to return from the IL when first eligible.
