Jose Lopez: Let go by Cincinnati
The Reds released Lopez on Monday, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports.
Dumped from the Reds' 40-man roster almost exactly one year earlier, Lopez now finds himself out of the organization entirely after Cincinnati included him among its list of 48 minor-league cuts this week. He spent most of his time with Triple-A Louisville in 2019, covering 50 innings in 11 appearances (10 starts) and posting a 6.84 ERA and 1.78 WHIP.

Reds' Jose Lopez: Removed from 40-man roster
Lopez cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
Lopez was apparently designated for assignment earlier in the week but will remain in the organization after going unclaimed on waivers. The 25-year-old has struggled at Louisville with a 6.98 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 42:26 K:BB through 49 innings.

Reds' Jose Lopez: Claimed by Reds
Lopez was claimed off waivers by the Reds and optioned to Triple-A Louisville.
Lopez was designated for assignment by the Reds back in February, but over a month later it seems they'd prefer to have him back in the system than retain Brandon Finnegan, who was designated for assignment Thursday in a corresponding move. Lopez should serve as organizational depth at Triple-A.

Giants' Jose Lopez: DFA'd by San Fran
Lopez was designated for assignment by the Giants on Sunday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Lopez was claimed off waivers by the Giants in February but will return to the waiver wire as the team needed space on the 40-man roster for the acquisition of veteran catcher Erik Kratz. The 25-year-old posted a 4.47 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 117:41 K:BB across 141 innings (26 starts) at Triple-A last season.

Reds' Jose Lopez: Removed from 40-man roster
Lopez was designated for assignment by the Reds on Monday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Lopez was dropped from Cincinnati's 40-man roster in order to free up a spot for reliever Zach Duke, who was officially signed to a one-year contract Monday. The 25-year-old Lopez reached Triple-A for the first time in his career in 2018, posting a combined 4.47 ERA and 117:41 K:BB across 26 starts (141 innings) for the Louisville Bats.

Giants' Jose Lopez: Scooped by Giants
Lopez was claimed off waivers by the Giants on Tuesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Lopez will trade 40-man spots with Josh Osich, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. The right-hander compiled a 4.47 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 26 starts with Triple-A Louisville in 2018. Lopez will likely open the year on San Francisco's farm.
