Pirates' Will Robertson: Claimed off waivers by Pirates
The Pirates claimed Robertson off waivers from the White Sox on Monday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
Robertson went just 9-for-70 with a 2:27 BB:K over 75 plate appearances between the Blue Jays and White Sox in 2025 in his first action at the big-league level. However, the 27-year-old slashed .289/.387/.571 with 20 homers at the Triple-A level this season and can play all three outfield spots, so the Pirates will hope he can nail down a job as a reserve outfielder.

White Sox's Will Robertson: Finishes season as bench player
Robertson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
After making five straight starts, Robertson will close out the season on the bench for four of the final five contests. Since being summoned from Triple-A Charlotte on Aug. 27, Robertson has put together a weak .148/.175/.167 batting line.

White Sox's Will Robertson: Drawing fourth straight start
Robertson will start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Padres.
Robertson will make his fourth consecutive start -- all against right-handed pitchers -- despite mustering just two hits in 10 at-bats over the previous three contests. The 58-97 White Sox are seemingly in evaluation mode at this stage of the season and are giving Robertson an opportunity to prove he belongs in the big leagues, even though Andrew Benintendi is likely viewed as the team's primary option in left field heading into 2026.

White Sox's Will Robertson: Sitting after four straight starts
Robertson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.
Robertson had started in each of the last four games but did little with the opportunity, going 2-for-11 with three strikeouts. He'll likely handle a part-time role in the Chicago outfield for the remainder of the season and could see his opportunities dwindle further once Brooks Baldwin (hip) is cleared to rejoin the lineup.

White Sox's Will Robertson: Drives in two Tuesday
Robertson went 1-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 12-3 win over the Twins.
Robertson was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Aug. 27 after Luis Robert (hamstring) was placed on the injured list. He's gone just 2-for-15 since being recalled and is hitting .097 across 31 at-bats on the season.

White Sox's Will Robertson: Sent back to Triple-A
The White Sox optioned Robertson to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
It will be a short stint in the majors for Robertson, who was recalled by the White Sox on Wednesday. He has appeared in eight games for Charlotte since being traded by the Blue Jays in early July and has gone 11-for-34 (.324) with four doubles, one triple, three home runs and six RBI. The move makes room on the White Sox's 26-man roster for Corey Julks.

White Sox's Will Robertson: Brought up from minors
The White Sox recalled Robertson from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for outfielder Austin Slater, who was traded to the Yankees. Robertson went hitless in six plate appearances during a previous stint with the White Sox earlier this season. He could see more action in the final two months, especially if Chicago makes additional trades of their position players leading up to Thursday's deadline.

White Sox's Will Robertson: Heads back to minors
The White Sox optioned Robertson to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.
Robertson was acquired in a trade with Toronto on July 9 and was recalled from the minors by Chicago two days later. During his brief stint with the White Sox, he went 0-for-6 with one run and four strikeouts, and he's gone 1-for-16 with 11 punchouts overall this season (including a three-game stint with the Blue Jays in June). Robertson's demotion Saturday made room on the 26-man roster for the activation of Brooks Baldwin (back) from the injured list.

Just two days after being acquired from Toronto, Robertson will make his White Sox debut in left field during the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader versus Cleveland. The 27-year-old rookie is 1-for-10 with seven strikeouts in his MLB career, though he's slashed .292/.403/.578 in Triple-A this season. White Sox's Will Robertson: Headed to Windy City
The White Sox acquired Robertson from the Blue Jays on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Toronto designated Robertson for assignment Sunday, but he'll reclaim a 40-man roster spot upon joining a new organization. The 27-year-old outfielder went just 1-for-10 at the plate during his three games in the majors with Toronto, but he's slashed an impressive .292/.403/.578 with 14 homers and 44 RBI over 233 plate appearances at Triple-A Buffalo. The White Sox will likely assign him to Triple-A Charlotte to begin his time in the organization.

Robertson will cede his spot on Toronto's 40-man roster to right-hander Ryan Burr (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Sunday. Before he was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on June 20, Robertson saw action in three games for Toronto and went 1-for-10 with a walk and an RBI.

After getting his first big-league call-up June 11, Robertson slashed .100/.250/.100 across 12 plate appearances before returning to Triple-A. He'll give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to fellow outfielder Nathan Lukes (concussion), who was activated from the 7-day injured list.

Blue Jays' Will Robertson: Contract selected
The Blue Jays selected Robertson's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.
The left-handed-hitting Robertson will receive his first big-league promotion after breaking through with a .288/.408/.583 batting line and 12 home runs in 52 games this season with Buffalo. The 27-year-old is capable of handling all three outfield spots, and with Anthony Santander (shoulder), Daulton Varsho (hamstring) and Nathan Lukes (concussion) all on the shelf, he could see some starts versus righties.
