  • Rockies' Chad Stevens: Promoted, starting Thursday

Stevens had his contract selected from Triple-A Albuquerque and is starting Thursday's contest at second base against the Diamondbacks. Stevens will join the big-league club after posting an impressive .362 average with three home runs, 25 RBI, 31 runs scored and six stolen bases in 40 contests with Triple-A Albuquerque this season. The 27-year-old will make his Rockies debut at second base, batting ninth in the series opener at Arizona. In order to make room on the 40-man roster for Stevens, left-handed pitcher Carson Palmquist was designated for assignment, and Brenton Doyle (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list.

  • Rockies' Chad Stevens: Fails to make cut

The Rockies reassigned Stevens to minor-league camp Sunday. Stevens is expected to open the season at Triple-A Albuquerque after he was unable to win a bench role with the Rockies coming out of spring training. The 27-year-old made his big-league debut with the Angels in 2025, appearing in five games while going 2-for-13 at the dish.

  • Rockies' Chad Stevens: Latches on with Rockies

The Rockies signed Stevens to a minor-league contract Dec. 9. Stevens reached the big leagues for the first time in 2025, going 2-for-13 at the plate during a five-game cup of coffee with the Angels. Slated to turn 27 in February, Stevens had a strong .290/.375/.480 batting line at Triple-A Salt Lake in 2025 and is capable of playing all four infield positions as well as the outfield corners.

  • Angels' Chad Stevens: DFA'd by Halos

The Angels designated Stevens for assignment Sunday. The infielder received his first taste of the majors earlier this season and went 2-for-13 with seven strikeouts in five games before being sent back to Triple-A Salt Lake on July 8. Stevens has an .858 OPS with 18 home runs and 20 steals in 116 games with Salt Lake this season, but the Angels didn't deem the 26-year-old worthy of retaining a spot on the 40-man roster.
