  • Astros' Ramon Urias: Sitting after five straight starts

Urias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. Urias had started the last five games while going 6-for-20 with one home run, one double, three RBI and two runs, but he'll hit the bench as Jose Altuve covers the keystone. Altuve has been serving as Houston's primary designated hitter of late, but he'll need to shift back to second base once Yordan Alvarez (hand) is activated from the injured list later this month, leaving no path to regular playing time for Urias.

  • Astros' Ramon Urias: Big offensive output in win

Urias went 3-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's victory over the Red Sox. Urias played a key role in Monday's win, collecting a pair of extra-base hits. Since joining the Astros, the infielder has slashed .333/.400/.611 over seven games with two doubles, a homer and three RBI. He has started three of the last seven games and makes for a nice option in deeper daily leagues, especially when he's at home, as he is well-suited to take advantage of the Crawford Boxes in left field.

  • Astros' Ramon Urias: Moved to Houston

The Astros acquired Urias from the Orioles on Wednesday in exchange for right-handed pitcher Twine Palmer, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports. With Isaac Paredes (hamstring) likely to miss the remainder of the season, the Astros will bring in Urias to replenish their depth in the infield. The 31-year-old is batting .248 with a .688 OPS on the season -- both of which are the lowest marks of his career -- but his ability to fill in at third or second base could help him crack the starting nine on a somewhat consistent basis while Houston navigates a plethora of injuries.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Heading to bench Wednesday

Urias is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays. Urias will hit the bench for the final game of the series after he picked up starts in both halves of Tuesday's doubleheader. Though the Orioles should continue to make room for Urias in the lineup against left-handed pitching on a regular basis, he'll likely have to settle for more of a part-time role in the infield against righties now that Baltimore has all of its key position players available with the exception of Ryan Mountcastle (hamstring), who will likely return from the injured list next week.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Powers rout in Tuesday's matinee

Urias went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in a 16-4 win over the Blue Jays in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader. The veteran infielder went yard in the sixth and seventh innings as the Orioles broke open what had been a tight game to that point. Urias followed up his performance in the matinee by going 1-for-4 with an RBI in the nightcap, a 3-2 victory that completed the sweep. Urias started at third base in both contests with Toronto sending lefties Easton Lucas and Eric Lauer to the mound, and he should remain effective in a short-side platoon role given his .278/.338/.403 slash line against southpaws this season. However, six of his eight homers on the year have come against righties, including both of Tuesday's blasts.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Getting fifth start in six games

Urias will start at third base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Rockies. Urias will stick in the starting nine for the fifth time in six games, going 5-for-18 with three doubles, three walks, one RBI and one run to begin the second half of the season. Four of those five starts have come against left-handed pitching, so Urias may still be viewed as more of a part-time player against righties.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Struggling for playing time

Urias went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Cleveland. Urias tallied his 16th multi-hit game of the season. With Baltimore's infield trio of Gunnar Henderson, Jackson Holliday and Jordan Westburg all healthy, Urias has been the odd man out lately when it comes to playing time. Urias has made just nine appearances in July, during which he's batting only .148 with two extra-base hits and zero RBI.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Records three hits as substitute

Urias went 3-for-4 with a two-run single, a steal and three runs scored in Friday's 22-8 win over the Rays. Urias replaced Jordan Westburg in the second inning after the latter aggravated a left index finger injury while sliding into second base. Urias took advantage of the opportunity, smacking a two-run single in the same frame to cut the deficit to two runs before coming across to score three times, his most since May 5, 2024. Urias could be in line for some starts at the keystone if Westburg is sidelined.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Back on bench in Westburg's return

Urias is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers. Urias had started at third base in each of the Orioles' last six games and went 3-for-22 with two home runs, one walk and three RBI, but he'll likely move into more of a part-time role moving forward with Jordan Westburg (finger) rejoining the lineup after a three-game absence. The Orioles still have an everyday lineup spot available while Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) is on the injured list, but interim manager Tony Mansolino will likely mix and match with Urias, Dylan Carlson and Coby Mayo rather than committing to one player to fill the opening.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Drawing fourth straight start

Urias will start at third base and bat second in Sunday's game against the Yankees. Urias will pick up his fourth consecutive start, but after slotting anywhere from fourth to ninth in the batting order the previous three contests, he'll move into the two hole with Jordan Westburg (finger) out of the lineup. Westburg is expected to be out of action for a few days after spraining his index finger Saturday, so Urias will most likely remain in the starting nine at third base for Monday's series opener versus the Rangers.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Sitting in second straight

Urias is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays. Urias will take a seat for the second game in a row and looks to be moving into more of a part-time role now with Jordan Westburg having taken back over as the Orioles' primary third baseman following his return from the injured list last Tuesday. The Orioles should still be able to find room in the lineup for Urias against left-handed pitching, but his opportunities to play against righties could become more sporadic.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Maintaining steady role

Urias will start at third base and bat second in Sunday's game against the Angels. Jordan Westburg's return from the injured list Tuesday hasn't cut into Urias' playing time, as the veteran infielder will pick up his fourth start in five contests Sunday. Urias has turned in a respectable .740 OPS so far in June, and he should be in store for semi-regular starts at least until Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) is back from the injured list.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Hitting bench Wednesday

Urias is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports. Though he still looks to be the Orioles' preferred option at third base while Jordan Westburg (hamstring) remains on the shelf, Urias will give way to Emmanuel Rivera at the hot corner Wednesday after starting in the first two games of the series in Milwaukee. Since being activated from the 10-day injured list a week ago, Urias has gone 3-for-17 with a double, three walks, four runs and three RBI in five games.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Resting up Thursday

Urias is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins. After a week-and-a-half-long absence due to a hamstring strain, Urias made his return from the injured list Wednesday. He started at third base and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored during Baltimore's 6-3 loss in the first game of a doubleheader, then sat out a 8-6 loss in the second game. Emmanuel Rivera will receive a second straight start at the hot corner Thursday as the Orioles wrap up their series with the Twins, but Urias could see the bulk of the starts at the position once he's further removed from the hamstring injury.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Returns from IL

The Orioles activated Urias (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Urias required just a minimum 10-day absence while recovering from a right hamstring strain. With Jordan Westburg (hamstring) still out, Urias should handle the bulk of the reps at third base for Baltimore.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Placed on injured list

The Orioles placed Urias on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a right hamstring strain, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Urias' hamstring has prevented him from playing since Friday, and now that he's on the IL, it will continue to keep him on the sidelines until at least May 13. Coby Mayo was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move and will presumably get regular work at third base until Urias or Jordan Westburg (hamstring) returns.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Remaining out Saturday

Urias (hamstring) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals. Urias was a late scratch from Friday's lineup due to hamstring tightness, and he'll miss a second consecutive game Saturday while Emmanuel Rivera starts at third base. Baltimore hasn't provided any updates on Urias' status, but it seems likely that he's headed for the injured list with Coby Mayo set to come up from Triple-A Norfolk.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Scratched Friday

Urias was scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's game against Kansas City due to right hamstring tightness, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports. It remains unknown if Urias' injury will lead to a trip to the injured list, but the O's should provide more details in the near future. Emmanuel Rivera steps into the lineup to start at third base, batting ninth.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Smacks solo shot

Urias went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Yankees. Urias gave the Orioles a one-run lead in the second inning when he took Carlos Carrasco deep to left-center field for a solo homer. It was Urias' sixth multi-hit game and second home run of the season (both coming in his last six games). He's started the season slashing .292/.354/.403 with five runs scored and nine RBI over 82 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Ramon Urias: Stuck in part-time role

Urias singled in his lone at-bat Saturday against the Blue Jays. Urias came off the bench as a pinch hitter for Ryan O'Hearn in the eighth inning and singled on a groundball before being replaced by Jorge Mateo as a pinch runner. While Urias is batting .343 with one double, five RBI and four walks over 39 plate appearances so far this season, he remains likely to struggle for at-bats while Gunnar Henderson, Jordan Westburg and Jackson Holliday are all healthy in the Orioles' infield.
