  • Twins' Jhonny Pereda: Back to Triple-A

Pereda was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday. Pereda got called up Friday to fill Christian Vazquez's (shoulder) spot on the 26-man roster after Vazquez was placed on the injured list. However, Pereda will return to St. Paul now that Matt Wallner is off the paternity list. Pereda didn't appear in a game during this MLB stint.

  • Twins' Jhonny Pereda: Joining active roster

The Twins recalled Pereda from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday. The Twins claimed Pereda off waivers from the Athletics on Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. The Twins are swapping out one catcher (Jair Camargo) for another on their 40-man roster. He's fared better in the minors with an .840 OPS for Triple-A Las Vegas, but the A's needed to clear a 40-man roster spot for pitcher Ken Waldichuk (elbow), who was activated off the 60-day IL and optioned to Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

  • Marlins' Jhonny Pereda: Removed from 40-man roster

The Marlins designated Pereda for assignment Tuesday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports. The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for waiver claim Connor Gillispie.
