  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Three hits, two steals in loss

Arraez went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two stolen bases in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers. Arraez had been a little quiet at the plate recently, going just 2-for-19 over his previous five games. The pair of steals were his first thefts since July 21 versus the Marlins. Arraez is at a .291/.327/.399 slash line with six home runs, seven steals, 46 RBI, 52 runs scored, 26 doubles and four triples through 118 contests. He remains on pace to exceed 30 two-baggers for the fourth year in a row.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Clubs rare homer

Arraez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 7-6 win against the Mets on Monday. Arraez struck a ball off the right-field foul pole in the fifth inning for San Diego's lone long ball of the game. It was just the sixth homer this season for the contact-focused hitter, whose career high is 10 home runs set over 147 regular-season games with Miami in 2023. Arraez's two knocks Monday extended his hitting streak to 11 games, a span in which he's batting .391 (18-for-46) with just one strikeout.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Provides lone run in win

Arraez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks. Arraez broke the deadlock with a solo shot off Merrill Kelly in the seventh inning. Arraez is up to five homers on the year, including two over his last 10 games, a span in which he's gone 14-for-39 (.359). Overall, he's batting .293 with a .736 OPS, 35 RBI, 39 runs scored, four stolen bases, 17 doubles and four triples across 85 games.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Launches rare homer Saturday

Arraez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Saturday in a 6-4 win against Cincinnati. Arraez put the Padres on the board in the fifth inning with a solo shot to right field. The long ball was his first since April 18 and just his fourth overall this season. Of course, fantasy managers who roster Arraez don't expect much power from him, as he's never hit more than 10 home runs in a single MLB campaign. The three-time batting champion has been somewhat disappointing in other areas this season, though, as he's batting a mortal .283 -- well below his career average.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Settling into leadoff spot

Arraez is batting leadoff and starting at first base against the Reds on Saturday. This is the third straight game in which Arraez has batted leadoff, while Fernando Tatis -- who had previously spent much of the campaign in the leadoff role -- has shifted into the cleanup spot. Arraez is having a subpar season by his standards with a .705 OPS (on pace the for the lowest mark of his career), but he has plenty of experience atop the order after having hit in that spot for most of his career. Arraez collected three hits Wednesday upon moving back to batting leadoff before going 0-for-4 on Friday.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Extends streak with three hits

Arraez went 3-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Nationals. Arraez was responsible for half of the Padres' six hits Wednesday, including a two-out RBI single in the second inning that provided the lone run in the game. Arraez extended his hitting streak to 12 games -- he's gone 19-for-53 (.358) in that span. Overall, the former batting champ is slashing .288/.317/.397 with three homers, 30 RBI, 37 runs scored and three steals across 323 plate appearances this season.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Racks up three hits in loss

Arraez went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 8-6 loss to the Dodgers. Arraez is 10-for-31 (.323) over his last seven games, a span that has seen him rack up three doubles, three RBI and five runs scored. The infielder is up to a .280/.312/.396 slash line with three homers, 27 RBI, 32 runs scored, three stolen bases, 16 doubles and three triples over 66 contests. Arraez continues to provide steady contact with a tiny 1.7 percent strikeout rate -- he hasn't struck out since May 25 versus Atlanta.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Two doubles in three-hit game

Arraez went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and four runs scored in Tuesday's 11-1 win over the Dodgers. Arraez hasn't found any over-the-fence power in June, but he's gone 11-for-42 (.262) with five doubles across 10 games this month. He did his part to get on base frequently Tuesday, and Manny Machado benefited, knocking in Arraez three times in a five-RBI effort. Arraez is at a .281/.314/.405 slash line with three home runs, 15 doubles, three triples, 25 RBI, 31 runs scored and three stolen bases over 60 games this season. He continues to switch between first base and designated hitter, sharing both positions with Gavin Sheets.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Comes through with clutch hit

Arraez went 1-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Brewers. San Diego trailed by two runs with two outs in the ninth inning before Arraez tied the score with a two-run double. The big hit wasn't quite enough to send San Diego home with a victory, however, as Caleb Durbin swatted a walk-off homer for the Brewers in the bottom of the frame. Arraez has reached base safely in each of his first six games in June, though he's batting just .250 (7-for-28) during that span. Arraez's batting average sits at a fine .281 on the campaign, but that's well below his career mark as his three-year streak of winning a batting title looks to be in peril.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Returning to lineup

Arraez (knee) will serve as the designated hitter and bat second against Milwaukee on Friday. Padres manager Mike Shildt told reporters Thursday that Arraez is working through posterior knee soreness. The 28-year-old is considered day-to-day, but he could see more work as the Padres' DH while Gavin Sheets shifts to first base. Arraez has gone 10-for-35 with five RBI over his last nine games.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Breaks slump with three-hit game

Arraez went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday's 8-6 win over the Marlins. Arraez supplied the game-tying and go-ahead hits, knocking in a run with a single in each of the fourth and fifth innings. This ended his 0-for-14 drought at the plate, which was enough to earn him a partial rest day Monday before he appeared off the bench. Prior to that slump, he had hit safely in 11 of 12 games, batting .358 (19-for-53) in that span. Overall, the contact-hitting infielder is at a .289/.322/.416 slash line with three home runs, nine doubles, three triples, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and two stolen bases across 47 contests.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Three hits in Friday's loss

Arraez went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Mariners. The Padres managed only eight hits in total, while the three batters behind Arraez in the order went a combined 0-for-11, so the 28-year-old's knocks didn't lead to any offense. Arraez is finding his groove in May, recording four three-hit performances in 13 games while producing a .298/.333/.368 slash line with six RBI and nine runs.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Records three RBI in rout

Arraez went 3-for-7 with a triple, two runs and three RBI in Saturday's 21-0 win against the Rockies. Arraez got in on the action during a massive day for San Diego's offense, singling in a run in the second inning and adding a two-run triple in the fourth. The veteran infielder has racked up three hits in two straight games, lifting his season batting average to .298. Arraez currently sits at 10th in the National League in that category as he seeks his fourth straight batting title.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Plates three in victory

Arraez went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and three RBI in Friday's 9-4 win over the Pirates. Arraez gave the Padres a 3-2 lead with his run-scoring single in the fifth and added a two-run single in the eighth. Since returning from a stint on the 7-day concussion IL on April 29, the veteran infielder has collected at least one hit and at least one RBI in each of his three games. Arraez started slowly this season but is now batting a robust .313 -- ninth best in the National League -- as he pursues a fourth consecutive batting title.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Hitting well since return

Arraez went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run and an RBI in a 5-3 win against San Francisco on Wednesday. Arraez was activated from the 7-day concussion injured list Tuesday and went 1-for-3 with an RBI in his return to action that day. The veteran infielder added another two hits Wednesday, with his sixth-inning triple plating a run. Arraez has shown a bit more pop than usual with three homers, three doubles, a triple and an overall .149 ISO thus far in 2025, and he's recovered from a slow start at the plate to push his batting average up to .298 through 104 plate appearances.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Activated from IL

The Padres reinstated Arraez (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Tuesday. A collision with Mauricio Dubon sent Arraez to the 7-day concussion IL last week, but he's now been given the green light to return to competitive action. Jason Heyward (knee) will come off the IL alongside Arraez to replace Mason McCoy (finger) and Yuli Gurriel.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Set for stint on 7-day IL

Arraez (concussion) is expected to be placed on the 7-day injured list prior to Monday's game against the Tigers, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Arraez is dealing with concussion symptoms after colliding with the Astros' Mauricio Dubon on Sunday. The infielder was taken off the field on a stretcher following the concussion and was sent to a local hospital for further evaluation. He's since posted on social media that he's feeling fine physically, but Arraez will be out for at least one week while he waits for his concussion symptoms to subside. Connor Joe, Yuli Gurriel and Gavin Sheets will be the main candidates to see playing time at first base in Arraez's absence.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Pops third homer

Arraez went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Padres. The 28-year-old contact king lofted a Bryan King fastball at the top of the zone down the right-field line in the seventh inning, accounting for the Padres' final offense of the night. Arraez has hit safely in six straight games, batting .357 (10-for-28) over that stretch to boost his slash line on the season to .294/.322/.435, but he's also flashing more power than usual to kick off 2025. Arraez has homered three times in 20 games, after leaving the yard only four times in 150 regular-season contests last year.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Goes deep in victory

Arraez went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs against the Cubs in a 10-4 win Monday. Arraez hit the second of back-to-back homers with Fernando Tatis in the eighth inning as the Padres pulled away for their 11th straight home victory. The veteran infielder has all but wiped out memories of his slow start to the season -- after going 0-for-13 over his first four games, Arraez has since boosted his average up to .282. That mark is likely to come up even further given that Arraez has never batted less than .294 over a full season, and with two homers so far, he's already halfway to the four long balls he hit across 150 regular-season games last year.

  • Padres' Luis Arraez: Collects three hits in spring game

Arraez went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a stolen base in Friday's Cactus League win over Texas. Arraez is swinging a hot bat this spring, batting .433 over 30 at-bats. He did a couple things Friday that are out of the norm for him, as he both hit a homer and stole a base. Arraez had just four long balls and nine thefts over 672 regular-season plate appearances last year, which are reasons why he's often taken outside of the top 150 in fantasy drafts. That said, Arraez is as dependable as it gets when it comes to providing elite batting average, as evidenced by his run of three consecutive batting titles.
