  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Tallies two hits in win

Suzuki went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Pirates. Suzuki got off to a slow start coming out of the All-Star break, but he's been back in form lately. Over his last 10 games, the outfielder is slashing .281/.385/.438 with a home run, four RBI and four runs scored. Overall, Suzuki is tied with Pete Crow-Armstrong for the team lead in home runs with 27. Suzuki also leads the Cubs with 86 RBI this year.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Taking seat Thursday

Suzuki is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Toronto. Suzuki is sporting just a .182/.312/.286 batting line with two home runs in 22 contests since the All-Star break. Owen Caissie is in the designated-hitter spot in his major-league debut Thursday, and while it's unlikely Caissie will displace Suzuki in the lineup on a regular basis, he could eat into the latter's playing time a bit as the Cubs look to jumpstart a sluggish offense.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Snaps slump with big afternoon

Suzuki went 2-for-2 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Reds. After getting a breather Tuesday, Suzuki returned for the Wednesday afternoon series finale and promptly mashed his 27th home run of the season, which ties him with Pete Crow-Armstrong for the team lead. Suzuki had been scuffling before Wednesday with just a .143/.284/.214 slash line in 16 games since the All-Star break, but perhaps the day off helped him get back on track.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Receiving rare day off

Suzuki is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds. Suzuki started the previous 86 games for the Cubs, so it's a well-deserved day off for the 30-year-old. He's struggled to a .143/.284/.214 slash line in 16 games since the All-Star break, and he'll take a day to reset Tuesday. Kyle Tucker is receiving a turn at designated hitter while Willi Castro is manning right field.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Reaches twice, steals base in win

Suzuki went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Royals. He also stole a base. Suzuki has been a slugger all season, but he displayed some uncommon wheels in Tuesday's win. The outfielder is now up to three stolen stolen bases in five attempts. Suzuki swiped 16 bases last year, but fantasy managers are likely OK swapping speed for power. The 30-year-old is tied for sixth in the majors with 26 home runs and is fourth in MLB with 81 RBI.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Hits key home run Friday

Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox. Suzuki's 26th home run of the season with two runners on in the first inning ended up being the difference in the game. The outfielder has already set a new career high in long balls, and he's now up to sixth in the majors this year. Suzuki's 80 RBI, which are also a new career best, are good for third in MLB, trailing only sluggers Cal Raleigh with 82 and Aaron Judge with 81. Now in his fourth season since coming over from Japan, Suzuki is really taking off as an offensive force for the Cubs.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Goes deep in rout

Suzuki went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 11-3 win over the Cardinals. Suzuki was overshadowed a bit by Pete Crow-Armstrong, who had two home runs in the game, as well as Michael Busch, who went deep three times. However, the former still managed to provide some fireworks of his own, and he's now up to 24 long balls, which leads the team and is good for sixth in the majors. Suzuki has gone deep six times over his last 12 games, during which time he also has a robust 1.115 OPS.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Blasts 23rd home run

Suzuki went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Guardians. Suzuki has been in a nice power groove recently, as he now has five home runs in his last nine games. For the season, the slugging outfielder has 23 long balls, which is a new career best, surpassing the 21 he hit in 2024. Suzuki is now sixth in the majors in home runs, while he's also second in the majors with 70 RBI. The 30-year-old remains a productive and consistent fantasy asset, reaching the 20-homer plateau the last three years.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Homers, triples in big victory

Suzuki went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a triple against the Astros in a 12-3 win Saturday. Suzuki tripled and scored in the fourth inning and added a two-run homer in the eighth. The 30-year-old outfielder has been racking up extra-base hits this season -- among his 83 total knocks, 44 have gone for extra bases. Suzuki set a career high with his 22nd homer Saturday, and with 69 RBI he's very close to the career-best mark of 74 that he established in 2023.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Homers twice in loss

Suzuki went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Sunday's 14-6 loss to the Mariners. Suzuki registered his fourth multi-homer game of the season and second already this month, but it wasn't enough as Chicago's pitching staff struggled badly Sunday. The outfielder is now up to 20 long balls this year, which is the third straight season he's reached that plateau. Suzuki's power surge also has him in the top 10 in the majors in home runs, giving him plenty of fantasy appeal so far in 2025.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Blasts 17th home run

Suzuki went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Pirates. Suzuki hit his 17th home run of the season in the sixth inning, and he remains one behind Pete Crow-Armstrong for the team lead, as the latter hit 18th long ball of the year in the contest as well. Suzuki's career best in home runs is 21, which he recorded last year, and he seems well on his way to surpassing that figure if he stays healthy the rest of the way.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Scores, drives in run Saturday

Suzuki went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Mets. Suzuki had been scuffling a bit before the two-hit effort, going 0-for-13 with four strikeouts over his previous three games. The veteran outfielder usually doesn't slump for too long, however, as he batted .283 or better each of the last two seasons. Suzuki is batting .250 at the moment, and he will likely push that figure up over the summer based on his MLB track record.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Scratched with wrist issue

Suzuki was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers due to right wrist discomfort, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports. The 30-year-old started the previous five contests after sitting out three games due to the same issue last week, but he presumably aggravated the injury during Tuesday's win while going 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run. Justin Turner will step into the lineup at designated hitter while Suzuki is considered day-to-day.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Returns to lineup Wednesday

Suzuki (wrist) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Wednesday's game versus the Padres. Suzuki missed three starts with right wrist soreness but is feeling well enough to give it a go in Wednesday's series finale. The 30-year-old is sporting a .292/.390/.538 batting line with four home runs in his first 17 contests this season.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Not starting Sunday

Suzuki (wrist) is not in the Cubs' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Sunday. Suzuki left in the fifth inning of Saturday's contest after experiencing pain in his right wrist, which he originally injured against the Rangers this past Monday. Justin Turner will serve as the designated hitter and bat third against Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow in the series finale.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Considered day-to-day

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said after Saturday's win over the Dodgers that Suzuki (wrist) is considered day-to-day, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports. Suzuki was lifted from Saturday's contest in the top of the fifth inning due to right wrist pain. Counsell said Suzuki initially injured the wrist Monday against the Rangers. If Suzuki is unable to play in Sunday's series finale against Los Angeles, Justin Turner would be the most logical candidate to fill in as the designated hitter.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Leaves game with wrist issue

Suzuki was removed from Saturday's game against the Dodgers due to right wrist pain, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports. Miguel Amaya pinch hit for Suzuki in the top of the fifth inning. Suzuki initially dealt with wrist discomfort earlier this month when the Cubs were in Sacramento facing the Athletics. Before leaving Saturday, Suzuki was 0-for-2 at the plate. He entered the day slashing .302/.400/.556 with four home runs, 15 RBI, 11 runs scored, one stolen base, 11 walks and a league-high 23 strikeouts.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Contributes to easy win Monday

Suzuki went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 7-0 win over the Rangers. He also stole a base. Suzuki had a good all-around effort Monday, which included his first stolen base of the season. The outfielder isn't a huge speed threat, though he did have a career-high 16 steals a season ago. If Suzuki gets a little more aggressive on the bases in 2025, he could be poised for his first campaign with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases. He reached the 20-homer plateau in each of the last two years.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Drills two homers Wednesday

Suzuki went 3-for-5 with one walk, two home runs and five RBI in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Athletics. Suzuki gave the Cubs a 4-0 lead in the second inning when he took Jeffrey Springs deep for a three-run homer. Suzuki smacked a solo home run in the fourth frame before knocking in his fifth run of the day in the seventh on an RBI single. The 30-year-old struggled to open the season with just two hits in his first five games, but over his last four outings he's gone 9-for-19 with three walks, four home runs and 11 RBI.

  • Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Expected to be primary DH

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Saturday at the Cubs Convention fan event that Suzuki will be the team's designated hitter "a lot" this season, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports. Suzuki has said that he prefers to play the outfield, but with Ian Happ, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker slated for everyday roles in that capacity this coming season, Suzuki's path to regular playing time is at DH. Counsell noted he spoke to Suzuki about the plan last week and the 30-year-old is on board. While he will be the Cubs' primary DH in 2025, Suzuki should still see enough action in the outfield to retain eligibility there for fantasy in 2026.
