  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Struggles continue during loss

Pallante (6-11) took the loss against the Marlins on Wednesday, surrendering five runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four over 5.1 innings. Pallante was tagged for at least one run in four of the six frames he worked and was lifted immediately after serving up a homer to Maximo Acosta in the sixth. It marked the sixth time in his last eight outings that the right-hander has allowed at least four earned runs, a stretch in which he's posted a 7.71 ERA and a 29:16 K:BB across 39.2 innings. Pallante will have a decent chance to right the ship in his next scheduled turn against the Pirates.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Salvages poor showing with eight Ks

Pallante (6-10) took the loss Friday against the Yankees, giving up four runs on six hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out eight. The eight strikeouts were a season high for Pallante, but it was not an encouraging showing overall. The right-hander has now yielded at least four runs on five occasions over his last seven outings, posting an unsightly 7.60 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB over his last 34.1 innings. Pallante has a lone quality start during that stretch, so he doesn't project as a recommended streamer next week in Miami.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Chased early Saturday

Pallante (6-9) allowed six runs on seven hits and one walk while failing to record a strikeout over 1.2 innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Cubs. Pallante gave up two runs in the first inning and four more in the second before making his early exit in this contest. He's operated at the extremes lately -- over his last nine starts, he's allowed two or fewer runs five times, but he's allowed at least five runs in the other four starts in that span. On the season, Pallante has an uninspiring 4.95 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 80:41 K:BB across 123.2 innings through 23 starts. His next start is expected to be at home versus the Yankees.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Yields two runs in loss

Pallante (6-8) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Padres. Pallante posted seven innings of one-hit ball in his last start, but he wasn't able to replicate it Sunday. It was a decent outing, aside from the two-run home run Jake Cronenworth hit in the fourth inning to open the scoring. Pallante is now at a 4.57 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 80:40 K:BB through 122 innings over 22 starts this season. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Cubs.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Delivers seven shutout innings

Pallante (6-7) earned the win Monday, allowing a hit and a walk over seven scoreless innings against the Marlins. He struck out four. Pallante was stellar Monday, allowing just two Marlins to reach base while cruising to his sixth win of the season. It was a much-needed rebound for the right-hander, who came into the outing with a 9.77 ERA and 1.91 WHIP over 15.2 innings in his previous three starts. On the year, he now holds a 4.62 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 117 innings in 21 starts. While Pallante is capable of intermittent stretches of success, improving on his modest 5.8 K/9 will likely be key to him following up Monday's outing with a stretch of strong showings.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Knocked around in fifth loss

Pallante (5-5) took the loss Wednesday against the Nationals, giving up seven runs on eight hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out one. Pallante was knocked around, matching a season high in runs allowed and falling one hit allowed short of his season worst. The 26-year-old right-hander tends to pitch to contact, as he entered Wednesday with a 64.6 percent groundball rate in 2025, and that got him into trouble while tying a season low with one strikeout against Washington. Pallante will carry an ordinary 4.49 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 64:32 K:BB over 100.1 innings into the All-Star break, and he'll likely primarily remain a matchup-based streamer for fantasy purposes.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Strikes out seven in no-decision

Pallante did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Brewers, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over 4.1 innings. Pallante opened with three scoreless frames before allowing four runs across the fourth and fifth. The 26-year-old induced 12 whiffs on 82 pitches while limiting hard contact, but he's now failed to complete five innings in two of his last three outings. He'll take a 4.83 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 54:26 K:BB across 76.1 innings into a home matchup with the Reds next weekend.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Struggles continue in poor outing

Pallante didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Royals after giving up seven runs on seven hits and no walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out two. The seven runs allowed marked a season worst for Pallante, who tends to keep the ball on the ground but fell victim to the long ball Tuesday. Bobby Witt tagged him for a two-run blast in the opening inning, and Nick Loftin added a solo shot in the fifth frame. Pallante posted a 3.22 ERA through his first four starts, but he has a 5.77 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 29:16 K:BB over his subsequent eight. With a tall task against the Dodgers awaiting him in his next scheduled outing, the 26-year-old right-hander won't be a recommended fantasy option in that matchup.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Fans seven in no-decision

Pallante did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's win over Baltimore. He allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out seven over 5.2 innings. Pallante worked through three scoreless frames before the Orioles scored an unearned run in the fourth inning. He then served up a three-run shot to Ryan O'Hearn in the fifth. Pallante tied his season high with seven punchouts while generating 12 whiffs on 91 total pitches. He's thrown exactly 5.2 innings in his last two appearances after completing seven frames in each of his previous two starts. Pallante's ERA sits at 4.23 with a lackluster 42:23 K:BB through 61.2 frames. He's lined up for a home start against the Royals next week.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Falls to Detroit

Pallante (4-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Tigers, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out three. After going 14.1 innings without allowing a walk in his previous two starts, Pallante issued four free passes Wednesday, matching a season high. Through 10 starts (56 innings) this year, the right-hander has pitched to a 4.18 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 35:20 K:BB. Pallante is currently lined up to face the Orioles on the road in his next outing.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Continues to pile up groundouts

Pallante (4-2) earned the win Friday against the Royals after allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks in seven innings. He struck out four. Pallante entered Friday with an MLB-high 75 groundball outs, and he continued to keep the opposition off balance against Kansas City. The right-hander induced 13 more groundouts, also working at least six frames for the fifth time in his last seven outings. Pallante has an ordinary 4.11 ERA and 1.33 WHIP while fanning more than four just twice over his nine appearances (50.1 innings) this season, so his lack of strikeout upside should continue to limit his fantasy appeal in a tough matchup versus the Tigers in his next scheduled start.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Stifles Nats for third win

Pallante (3-2) picked up the win Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits over 7.1 innings in a 4-2 victory over the Nationals. He struck out seven without walking a batter. In his longest outing of the season, Pallante took a shutout into the eighth inning before Dylan Crews connected on a two-run homer. The right-hander fired 61 of 91 pitches for strikes in his first win in nearly a month, and he'll take a 4.36 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 28:16 K:BB through 43.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Kansas City.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Struggles with command

Pallante allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out a batter in 4.1 innings Tuesday against Atlanta. He did not factor into the decision. Pallante was able to blank Atlanta through three innings despite allowing traffic on the bases in each frame. His good fortune ran out from there as he surrendered four runs while only recording four more outs in the game. Tuesday's outing was tied for Pallante's shortest of the year, and he's now allowed four runs in consecutive starts after allowing just four runs total over his first three starts combined. Pallante possesses a 4.05 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 16:10 K:BB in 26.2 innings. He lines up to make another start on the road next week against the Reds.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Knocked around in second inning

Pallante (2-1) took the loss Thursday against the Mets after allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out two. Each of Pallante's four runs allowed came during the second inning, when the Mets knocked him around with five hits. A whopping 12 of Pallante's 18 outs came on groundouts, so he was able to keep the New York bats in check to an extent. It was the first time through four starts this season that the right-hander surrendered more than two runs. Pallante will take a respectable 3.22 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB over 22.1 innings into his next scheduled start, which is tentatively set for next week in Atlanta.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Yields two runs

Pallante did not factor in the decision during a loss to Boston in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader. He allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings while striking out six. Pallante rolled through three shutout frames before David Hamilton put Boston on the board with an RBI single in the fourth inning. Rafael Devers followed that up with a solo shot in the fifth. Pallante threw 53 of 92 pitches for strikes and generated 12 whiffs. He owns a 3.86 ERA with a 9:5 K:BB through 9.1 innings. Pallante's next start is lined up to be a home matchup with the Phillies.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Saturday's start postponed

Pallante won't pitch against the Red Sox as scheduled Saturday, as the contest has been postponed due to inclement weather. Pallante was slated to take the mound for his second start of the season, but he'll have to wait another day to toe the rubber. Saturday's contest has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader Sunday, and Pallante is slated to start the first game of the twin bill, per Katie Woo of The Athletic.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Three scoreless, but velo down

Pallante permitted one hit and struck out a pair over three scoreless frames in Tuesday's Grapefruit League outing against the Mets. The bottom line was much improved from Pallante's first spring start when he allowed four runs and walked two in an inning of work. However, Pallante has yet to find the pep on his fastball this spring, with the velocity on his four-seamer down 1.7 mph from last year and the velocity on his sinker down 2.4 mph. It's not overly worrisome yet in early March, but it's something to keep an eye on.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Outduels Skenes in win

Pallante (7-8) got the win Monday against the Pirates, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings. Pallante was stellar on Monday as he shut down the Pirates over seven innings -- his second career start of seven or more shutout innings. Pallante also recorded a career-high nine strikeouts in the process. The 25-year-old has been a serviceable option for the Cardinals since being inserted into the rotation May 29. He's pitched to a 3.62 ERA in 99.1 innings as a starter this season.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Takes no-decision Wednesday

Pallante allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Wednesday. Pallante has not allowed more than two runs in any of his last four starts. In that span, he's given up seven runs (six earned) with a 17:10 K:BB across 25.1 innings. He's been effective as a starter this year, pitching to a 3.50 ERA over 82.1 innings across his 14 starts. Overall, he has a 3.80 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 68:35 K:BB through 92.1 innings. Steven Matz (back) may be an option for the Cardinals' rotation next week, but the team has considered moving to a six-man rotation in September, so Pallante may still be used as a starter to finish the campaign.

  • Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Sharp in sixth win

Pallante (6-6) picked up the win in Friday's 6-1 victory over the Twins, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out five. It looked like it might be a short night for Pallante when four of the first five Minnesota batters reached base in the second inning, but the right-hander put out the fire and then didn't let another runner get into scoring position, retiring the last 13 batters he faced. Pallante has a 3.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB through 35.1 innings since the All-Star break, but with Lance Lynn (knee) closing in on a return from the IL, his time in the rotation could be drawing to a close. If he gets another turn, Pallante lines up to face the Padres at home next week.
