Cardinals' Ian Bedell: Returns from IL
High-A Peoria activated Bedell (elbow) from its 7-day injured list Monday and assigned him to the Cardinals' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate.
Bedell, who underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2021, made his season debut in the FCL on Aug. 12. Before being officially activated from the IL, Bedell proceeded to make six appearances between the rookie-ball club and Single-A Palm Beach, accruing a 3.18 ERA and 11 strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Cardinals' Ian Bedell: Beginning rehab assignment
Bedell (elbow) is ready to begin a rehab assignment with the Cardinals' Florida Complex League team.
Bedell underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in May of 2021, but it appears he's ready for game action. Given the long layoff, he'll likely receive a handful of appearances in rookie ball before eventually working his way back to High-A Peoria.

Cardinals' Ian Bedell: Placed on injured list
Bedell (elbow) was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list Saturday.
Bedell's placement on the injured list isn't surprising as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery that he underwent in May of 2021. He'll attempt to return to the mound at some point this season.

Cardinals' Ian Bedell: Undergoes Tommy John surgery
Bedell underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
The 21-year-old appeared in two games for High-A Peoria before landing on the minor-league injured list May 13, and he'll now miss the rest of the season and a good chunk of 2022. Bedell made his professional debut with Peoria this season after being selected during the fourth round of the first-year player draft last year.
