  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Goes seven scoreless for 10th win

Bello (10-6) earned the win against the Yankees on Friday, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out five over seven scoreless innings. Bello managed just seven whiffs on 92 pitches but limited hard contact and outlasted Max Fried to notch his fourth win in his past five outings. Over that stretch, the 26-year-old has logged four quality starts, allowing only three earned runs across his victories while being tagged for five in his lone loss. He'll carry a 3.07 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 102:46 K:BB through 135 innings into a road matchup with the Orioles next week.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Delivers quality start in win

Bello (9-6) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks with two strikeouts over 6.1 innings. Bello was extremely efficient, throwing 52 of 78 pitches for strikes while limiting damage despite giving up 10 hard-hit balls. It was a solid rebound after surrendering five runs to San Diego last Sunday, and the 26-year-old has now gone at least five innings in 14 straight starts dating back to June 3. He'll take a 3.23 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 97:45 K:BB over 128 innings into a road matchup with the Yankees next weekend.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Struggles against SD

Bello (8-6) took the loss Sunday against San Diego, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out seven. Bello allowed more than three earned runs for the first time in 15 starts. The 26-year-old surrendered only six hits, but they often came in bunches, resulting in a handful of runs. On the bright side, Sunday's start was Bello's first with more than five strikeouts since July 8. On the year, Bello has a 3.25 ERA and a 95:45 K:BB across 121.2 innings. Bello is tentatively scheduled to face the Marlins in his next start.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Strong again in eighth win

Bello (8-5) earned the win against the Royals on Monday, allowing one unearned run on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts over six innings. Bello allowed a run after an error opened the fourth inning but was otherwise strong, throwing 68 of 102 pitches for strikes and working five scoreless frames. The 26-year-old has delivered 10 quality starts in his past 11 outings and has allowed more than three earned runs just once in 20 appearances (19 starts) this season. He'll take a 3.03 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 88:42 K:BB across 116 innings into a road matchup with the Padres this weekend.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Stuck with loss Friday

Bello (6-5) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-2 to the Dodgers, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out five. The right-hander didn't get much run support, but Bello didn't help his own cause in a shaky third inning that included a bases-loaded walk to Teoscar Hernandez after three straight singles. The outing snapped Bello's quality start streak at three, and it's only the second time in 10 trips to the mound since the beginning of June that he hasn't lasted six innings, a stretch in which he's delivered a 3.00 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB over 63 innings. Bello will look for a better result in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Minnesota.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Quality start in loss

Bello (6-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk over six innings in a 6-0 loss to the Cubs. He struck out four. The right-hander delivered his eighth quality start in his past nine outings Saturday, despite surrendering first-inning homers to Michael Busch and Kyle Tucker. Bello has put together a strong 2025 campaign, posting a 3.23 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over 97.2 innings across 17 appearances (16 starts).

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Continues excellent form Sunday

Bello (6-3) earned the win in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, yielding one run on six hits and no walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five. The only blemish on the Boston right-hander's performance came on a Josh Lowe sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, as he scattered one double and five singles. With this 105-pitch effort, during which he fired 73 strikes, Bello extended his recent stretch of solid pitching performances. Dating back to May 23, the 26-year-old has allowed fewer than three earned runs in 10 starts, a stretch where he's tallied seven quality starts and pitched to a 2.69 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB across 60.1 frames. Through 92.1 total innings, Bello sports a 3.14 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 70:34 K:BB.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Pitching in suspended game

Bello is scheduled to take the hill Wednesday when the Red Sox and Reds resume their game from Tuesday that was suspended in the top of the fourth inning, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports. Bello had been lined up to start the regularly scheduled game at 7:10 p.m. ET, but he'll instead pitch in the suspended game in what will mark his first appearance as a reliever since 2022. Because the game will resume in the fourth inning, Bello's workload will likely be more suppressed compared to a typical start, but he'll have an inside track at scooping up a win since he'll be taking the hill with the Red Sox holding a 2-1 lead. Bello has picked up just one win over his last 11 starts.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Extends streak of quality starts

Bello (3-3) took the loss Friday against the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on eight hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out one. While Bello's one punchout tied a season low, he was able to record his fifth quality start in a row and seventh of the year. The eight hits allowed were his second most of the season, but the 26-year-old right-hander will nonetheless wrap up a strong month of June with a 2.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB over his past four outings (31.1 frames). Bello is tentatively set to toe the slab next week versus the Reds.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Fans eight in victory

Bello (3-1) yielded three hits and three walks over seven shutout frames Sunday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Yankees. Bello delivered his best stuff in a huge matchup against Boston's rival to complete the weekend sweep. He gave up a leadoff double to Trent Grisham to begin the game, but only one other Yankee reached scoring position against him. Bello fired 72 of 114 pitches for strikes, including 13 whiffs. He's delivered three straight quality starts, and Sunday's performance was his longest outing of the year. Bello is sporting a 3.49 ERA with a 45:28 K:BB through 59.1 frames. He's projected to start in San Francisco next weekend.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Goes 6.1 frames in no-decision

Bello allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against Tampa Bay on Monday. Bello got through three scoreless frames before giving up a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth. One of those runs was unearned, so even though the right-hander was charged with one more run in the seventh, he still was credited with his second straight quality start. Despite allowing a fair amount of traffic on the basepaths, Bello was relatively efficient in tossing 82 pitches (55 strikes), and he logged his second-longest start of the campaign with 6.1 frames. Bello holds a 3.96 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 37:25 K:BB through 52.1 innings this season, and he's lined up to make his next start at home against the rival Yankees.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Doesn't last five frames again

Bello came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Brewers, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out two. It was another abbreviated outing for Bello, who got the hook after 77 pitches (46 strikes). The right-hander has gone five straight starts without being able to complete the fifth inning, posting a 4.84 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 17:15 K:BB over 22.1 innings during that stretch, and his inability to provide any length or last long enough to quality for a win is making him increasingly difficult to roster even in deep fantasy formats. Bello will try to find some efficiency in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Angels.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Struggles with command in loss

Bello (2-1) took the loss against Atlanta on Sunday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and five walks with three strikeouts over 4.1 innings Bello dealt with constant traffic on the basepaths and managed just 52 strikes on 92 pitches, generating only four whiffs. After allowing only seven earned runs over his first five starts, the 26-year-old has now failed to complete five innings in three consecutive outings. He'll carry a 4.02 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 20:19 K:BB across 31.1 innings into a home matchup with the Orioles next weekend.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Goes 4.2 innings vs. Texas

Bello did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Rangers, allowing four hits and five walks across 4.2 scoreless innings. He struck out one. Bello managed to hold the Rangers scoreless despite issuing a season-high five walks. However, he would leave the game in the fifth inning, one out shy of qualifying for the win, after throwing 83 pitches. Overall, Bello is 2-0 with an impressive 2.01 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 13:12 K:BB through his first four outings (22.1 innings) after missing the start of the season due to a shoulder strain. He's currently lined up to face the Tigers on the road in his next start.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Works into seventh inning Friday

Bello didn't factor into the decision Friday against Minnesota after allowing one run on four hits and one walk in 6.2 innings. He struck out five. After beginning the season on the injured list with a shoulder strain, Bello was able to reach the 100-pitch plateau for the first time in three starts this year. The right-hander also worked into the seventh inning for the first time, yielding a season-low one walk in the process. However, Bello did concede a home run, a third-inning solo shot to Ryan Jeffers, in his third straight outing. Bello will try to reduce the hard contact when he takes a 2.55 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB across 17.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance versus the Rangers, who entered Friday ranked 29th in the majors in runs scored (103).

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Logs quality start in win

Bello (2-0) earned the win against the Guardians on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts over six innings. Bello was given an early lead and ran with it before surrendering a three-run homer in the sixth inning. The 25-year-old threw 61 of 99 pitches for strikes while generating 10 whiffs, turning in his second straight solid effort since returning from the injured list. He owns a 3.27 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 7:6 K:BB across 11 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Twins next weekend.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Slated for season debut Tuesday

Bello (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the injured list early next week and start against Seattle on Tuesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports. This falls in line with recent comments by Red Sox manager Alex Cora that Bello's Double-A start this past Wednesday would be his last. Over four starts during his minor-league rehab assignment, Bello pitched to a poor 7.07 ERA and 1.57 WHIP, but he posted an excellent 21:4 K:BB over 14 innings and worked up to 71 pitches in his most recent appearance. Bello could be on a pitch count of some sort in his season debut, as he didn't log any game action during spring training.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Reaches fifth inning in rehab start

Bello (shoulder) struck out seven and allowed four earned runs on six hits and one walk across 4.1 innings Wednesday in his rehab start with Double-A Portland on Wednesday. He also hit a batter and was charged with a pitch-clock violation. Bello got off to a rocky start in his fourth minor-league rehab appearance in allowing a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning, but he settled down a bit over the following three-plus innings and concluded his night with three straight strikeouts. He spotted 51 of his 71 pitches for strikes and flashed a fastball that hovered in the 94 to 96 mile-per-hour range, roughly in line with his average velocity from the 2024 season (95.7 mph). According to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com, Red Sox manager Alex Cora said earlier in the week that Wednesday's outing would likely be Bello's last on the farm, so the right-hander appears on track to return from the 15-day injured list early next week. With the Red Sox having confirmed their starters through Monday, Bello tentatively lines up to make his 2025 debut Tuesday at home versus the Mariners.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Works four innings Friday

Bello (shoulder) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits while striking out five over four innings for Triple-A Worcester on Friday. There were several positives to Bello's third rehab start, including 45 strikes among his 64 pitches. The right-hander reached 97.8 mph on his sinker (95.8 mph average), induced 12 swinging strikes and retired the final eight batters faced. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said prior to the outing that he'd like to see Bello get up to five innings before he's activated, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Friday's results along with the manager's comments suggest at least one more rehab start for Bello.

  • Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Next rehab outing set for Friday

Bello (shoulder) will make a third rehab start Friday for Triple-A Worcester, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Bello threw 56 pitches over 3.1 innings for Worcester over the weekend and will look to increase his workload Friday. The Red Sox will evaluate the right-hander following the rehab start, but manager Alex Cora suggested that Bello could require another outing in the minors after that before being ready to return from the 15-day injured list. Bello has been pitching on a four-day rest schedule between starts, so a fourth rehab outing would put him on track to come off the IL as soon as April 21.
