  • Rangers' Dylan Moore: Nabs steal in loss

Moore went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Astros. Moore is now 6-for-19 with two home runs and two steals over 12 games with the Rangers. He continues to occupy a part-time role as a utility player in a reserve role. For the season, he's logged 14 steals, 11 homers, 25 RBI, 34 runs scored and a .204/.266/.384 slash line across 100 games between Texas and Seattle.

  • Rangers' Dylan Moore: Hits first homer with new team

Moore went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Athletics. Moore didn't start Saturday, but he came in off the bench as a pinch hitter. His blast came in his second at-bat, as he took Osvaldo Bido deep in the ninth inning. Moore is an option to provide coverage all around an ailing infield -- the Rangers are missing Marcus Semien (foot), Corey Seager (appendectomy) and Jake Burger (wrist) among their usual starters. Moore will likely get most of his starts versus left-handed pitchers, but his defensive versatility will make him a frequent late-game replacement. Between Texas and Seattle, he has a .199/.267/.378 slash line with 10 homers, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored and 12 stolen bases over 217 plate appearances.

  • Rangers' Dylan Moore: Starts at first base

Moore started at first base and went 1-for-2 with an RBI in Friday's 5-2 win over the Athletics. The injury-riddled Rangers are getting by with unexpected names in the infield. Moore, whose contract was selected Friday, filled in for the injured Jake Burger (wrist). There are other opportunities for Moore with two middle-infield starters -- shortstop Corey Seager (appendectomy) and second baseman Marcus Semien (foot) -- currently on the shelf.

  • Rangers' Dylan Moore: Officially promoted

The Rangers selected Moore's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday. With Corey Seager (abdomen) expected to miss the vast majority, if not the remainder of the regular season, Moore will come up from the minors to round out the Rangers' infield depth. Josh Smith is expected to take over as Texas' primary shortstop going forward; however, Moore's ability to play virtually every position could allow him to play on a somewhat consistent basis.

  • Rangers' Dylan Moore: Joining big club

The Rangers are expected to select Moore's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. The Rangers are going to be without Corey Seager (appendectomy) for an extended period of time, so the team will turn to Moore to provide additional infield depth. Although he owns just a .622 OPS through 213 plate appearances from his time with the Mariners this year, Moore could be in line for regular playing time with the Rangers, and his extreme defensive versatility will only help his chances of sticking in the lineup.

  • Rangers' Dylan Moore: Nets MiLB pact from Rangers

The Rangers signed Moore to a minor-league contract Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Moore was released by the Mariners on Sunday and has latched on with another American League West organization. The 33-year-old has slashed just .193/.263/.359 with a 35.7 percent strikeout rate over 213 plate appearances this season, but his versatility is attractive in a reserve role. The Rangers could give Moore another chance in the majors sooner rather than later.

  • Dylan Moore: Reaches open market

The Mariners granted Moore his unconditional release Sunday. After Moore went unclaimed off waivers upon being designated for assignment Saturday, the Mariners decided to eat the money remaining on his $3.91 million salary for 2025, allowing the 33-year-old utility player to test free agency. Moore produced a lowly .193/.263/.359 slash line over 213 plate appearances for Seattle this season, but his speed (12 steals in 16 attempts) and defensive versatility could entice another team to bring him aboard as a bench bat.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Picking up second straight start

Moore will start in right field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Phillies. With Dominic Canzone tending to a bruised arm, Moore will draw a second straight start in right field, after he went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 loss. The Mariners have faced left-handed starters Tuesday and Wednesday, so the right-handed-hitting Moore may have been included in the lineup more so for matchup reasons than due to any major concern about the health of the left-handed-hitting Canzone, who should see the bulk of the starts in right field versus right-handed pitching.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Logs 10th steal

Moore went 0-for-1 with one RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Astros. Moore's playing time remains sparse, and rightfully so given his woeful work at the plate in limited opportunities. He's gone 2-for-44 over 27 games since the start of June -- his RBI in Saturday's contest was on a groundout that tied the game in the bottom of the 10th inning. A strong start to the year gave him regular playing time into May, but he's since settled in as a utility player with no clear path into the lineup. Moore is slashing just .208/.268/.387 with 10 steals, nine home runs, 19 RBI and 27 runs scored over 190 plate appearances this season.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Goes deep in rare start

Moore went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-0 win over the Pirates. The Mariners gave the lefty-hitting Dominic Canzone the day off versus southpaw Bailey Falter, enabling Moore to draw a rare start in right field and belt his first homer since May 22. Moore had briefly handled nearly an everyday role when Ryan Bliss (triceps) and Victor Robles (shoulder) went down earlier this year, but he's fallen into a utility role off the bench since Canzone and Cole Young joined the big-league club. Moore has taken just 39 at-bats over his last 25 games, going 2-for-39 with one steal during that span.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Sitting for third straight game

Moore is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins. For the third straight game, Moore is on the bench against a right-handed pitcher, a sign that he's lost hold of his spot in the Mariners' everyday lineup. Cole Young will pick up his second consecutive start at the keystone following his call-up from Triple-A Tacoma and looks as though he'll be prioritized ahead of Moore, who could end up filling the short side of a platoon at second base with the rookie.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Not in Friday's lineup

Moore is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Twins on Friday. Moore will begin the Mariners' weekend series on the bench while Miles Mastrobuoni starts at second base and bats eighth. Moore has slashed .241/.297/.397 with three steals, two home runs and seven RBI over 64 plate appearances since returning from the 10-day injured list in early May.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Taking seat Wednesday

Moore isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals. Moore will get a day to rest after going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored during Tuesday's contest. His absence will allow Miles Mastrobuoni to start bat second base and at eighth.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Clubs homer in loss

Moore went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 9-2 loss to the Astros. This was Moore's first multi-hit effort since May 7, his second game back from a mild hip injury. Over the previous 11 contests, he went just 6-for-29 (.207) with a home run, four RBI and a 4:15 BB:K. The utility player still gets in the lineup a majority of the time, but his recent struggles at the plate could see his role reduced slightly until he turns things around. Moore has a .279/.339/.514 slash line with eight homers, 16 RBI, 20 runs scored, eight stolen bases and two doubles across 124 plate appearances. While the hitting has been decent overall, he's had some struggles defensively -- his five errors this season already match his totals from each of the previous two years.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Out of Sunday's lineup

Moore is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres. Moore will sit for the third time in Seattle's past four games despite having a .778 OPS in nine contests since coming off the injured list May 6. Leo Rivas will cover the keystone and bat ninth in the series finale in San Diego.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Receiving afternoon off

Moore is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees. Moore will get a breather for the day game after he had started in each of Seattle's last three contests while going 3-for-8 with a home run, a walk and two RBI. Miles Mastrobuoni will spell Moore at second base.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Homers for lone run in loss

Moore went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-1 loss to the Blue Jays. Moore is 4-for-15 with a homer, two stolen bases and three RBI over four games since he returned from a hip strain. The utility player has been one of the Mariners' strongest hitters so far this season, racking up seven homers, 12 RBI, 18 runs scored, seven steals and a .282/.330/.553 slash line through 27 contests. He's already over halfway to matching his career high in homers, which was in 2021 when he slugged 12 long balls in 126 games.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Sitting Saturday

Moore is not in Seattle's starting lineup against Toronto on Saturday. Moore started in the Mariners' previous three games since returning from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. He'll begin Saturday's contest in the dugout while Miles Mastrobuoni starts at third base and bats eighth.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Records steal in return

Moore went 1-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Athletics. Moore missed the minimum 10 days on the injured list due to a mild hip strain. The utility player played the full game in right field, though it's expected he'll move around the lineup going forward. Second base and right field are his best bets for playing time to help cover the absences of Ryan Bliss (biceps) and Luke Raley (oblique). Moore is batting .284 with an .878 OPS, six home runs, 10 RBI, 16 runs scored and six steals over 24 contests this season. That kind of production, as well as multi-position eligibility, makes him a useful player to roster in all fantasy formats.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Expects minimum IL stay

Moore (hip) said Tuesday that he expects to return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible May 7, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. He first tweaked his hip/adductor last week and was given an MRI over the weekend, which showed that the injury is "not even a Grade 1 strain," per Moore. However, the Mariners decided to exercise caution and put the super-utility player on the IL. It's unclear whether Moore will need a rehab assignment.
