Blake Trahan: Opts to retire
Trahan has retired from baseball, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Reds' Blake Trahan: Sent to Triple-A
Trahan was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.
No team was willing to claim Trahan after he was designated for assignment by the Reds earlier in the week, so he'll remain in Cincinnati's organization. Prior to being removed from the team's 40-man roster, the 25-year-old Trahan compiled a lackluster .230/.280/.324 slash line with five home runs and two steals in 83 games for Louisville.

Reds' Blake Trahan: Removed from 40-man roster
Trahan was designated for assignment by the Reds on Monday.
The Reds needed to free up a 40-man spot for Brian O'Grady, whose contract was purchased ahead of Monday's series opener against the Angels, and Trahan was the roster casualty. The 25-year-old Trahan has spent most of the season with Triple-A Louisville, slashing just .230/.280/.324 with five home runs and two steals in 83 games.

Reds' Blake Trahan: Returned to minors
Trahan was reassigned to minor-league camp Friday.
As expected, Trahan will report to Triple-A Louisville to begin the year, as there's simply no room on the big-league roster for the infielder following the signing of Jose Iglesias. The 25-year-old hit .238/.319/.262 with a pair of stolen bases in 19 spring appearances.

Reds' Blake Trahan: Likely in Louisville
Trahan is likely to be sent to Triple-A Louisville to begin the season, following the Reds' signing of Jose Iglesias.
For what it's worth, Trahan is hitting .250/.318/.275 in 40 spring training at-bats, but as long as everyone above him is healthy, there's no room on the roster for him to make the team.

Reds' Blake Trahan: Joining Reds for MLB debut
Trahan will be called up by the Reds on Saturday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic Cincinnati reports.
Trahan looks like a future utility infielder and will likely play that role for the Reds down the stretch. The 24-year-old hit just .245/.327/.302 with just two homers and six steals in 129 games for Triple-A Louisville this season.
