Ward is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros. The Angels have been easing up Ward's workload while the season winds down, as he'll hit the bench for the second time in four games. Unless he ends up being used as a reserve Sunday, Ward will wrap up his eighth big-league campaign with a .228/.317/.476 slash line, 36 home runs, four stolen bases, 103 RBI and 86 runs in 156 games.

He's up to 34 long balls this season, nine more than he had in 2024. Ward went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 9-2 loss to Milwaukee. Wednesday represented Ward's fifth career multi-homer game and his second of the season. The two RBI gave the veteran outfielder the first 100-RBI season of his career, as well. Despite a subpar .225 average, Ward has set career highs across the board with 33 long balls, 31 doubles, 83 runs scored and 72 walks over 551 at-bats to remain a quality fantasy asset in 2025.

  • Angels' Taylor Ward: Smacks homer in loss

Ward went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Mariners. Ward had been in his longest power drought of the year -- he entered Saturday 16 games removed from his last homer. He connected in the ninth inning off Matt Brash, but it didn't spark a rally for the Angels. The outfielder is batting a paltry .179 (7-for-39) over 11 games in September. He's now at a .224/.315/.462 slash line with 31 homers, 98 RBI, 81 runs scored, four stolen bases, 31 doubles and two triples across 145 games in 2025. Despite the recent slump, he's still on the cusp of his first 100-RBI campaign.

Over his last 15 games, he's batting .333 (19-for-57) with eight extra-base hits and 10 RBI. The outfielder is up to a .230/.305/.480 slash line with 21 homers, 63 RBI, 52 runs scored, 20 doubles, two triples and two stolen bases over 91 contests this season.

  • Angels' Taylor Ward: Reaches 20-homer mark

Ward went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 15-9 loss to the Nationals. Ward hasn't logged a multi-hit effort since June 14 in Baltimore. Over his last 12 games, he's gone 8-for-44 (.182) with five extra-base hits and eight RBI. The outfielder is still one of 12 players to reach the 20-homer mark through Friday's action, and with this game being the midpoint of the Angels' season, he's on pace to push for 40 homers, which would smash his career high of 25 from last season. He's batting just .208 but has a .465 slugging percentage while adding 55 RBI, 44 runs scored, 16 doubles, one triple and a stolen base over 79 contests in a near-everyday role in left field.
