  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Taking seat Saturday

Crawford isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers. Crawford will get a breather Saturday after going 3-for-14 with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored across his last five games. Leo Rivas will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Crawford's stead.

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Astros. Crawford is up to 12 homers on the year, including three over his last eight games. In that span, he's gone 10-for-29 (.345) while adding eight RBI. The shortstop has a .266/.353/.374 slash line with 58 RBI, 67 runs scored, 24 doubles and eight stolen bases through 152 contests overall.

Crawford went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Angels. Crawford connected in the fourth inning for his 10th homer of the season, though this was his first since Aug. 3 versus the Rangers. The shortstop has four multi-hit efforts over his last seven games, going 9-for-25 (.360) in that span. For the season, he's at a .264/.353/.362 slash line with 51 RBI, 64 runs scored, eight stolen bases and 22 doubles across 145 contests.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Drives in three

Crawford went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Angels. This was Crawford's third multi-hit effort in his last five games. The shortstop opened the scoring with a two-run double in the second inning and added an RBI single in the 11th to tie it at 5-5, keeping the game alive before the Mariners walked it off in the 12th. Prior to Thursday, Crawford had logged just one RBI and no extra-base hits over his previous 14 games and hadn't recorded a steal since Aug. 9 versus the Rays. On the season, he has a .263/.353/.355 slash line with nine home runs, eight steals, 50 RBI and 63 runs scored over 143 contests.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Out of lineup versus left-hander

Crawford is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Atlanta. It's a rare day off for the left-handed-hitting Crawford, who will begin the contest on the bench as Atlanta sends southpaw Chris Sale to the bump. Leo Rivas will cover shortstop and bat eighth.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Crosses plate twice in two-hit game

Crawford went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over Cleveland. It was the sixth multi-hit game of the month for Crawford, who also scored multiple runs for the second time in August. The 30-year-old shortstop had worked as Seattle's primary leadoff man from May through July, but he's since tumbled down the batting order and hit seventh or lower in 28 consecutive outings. Crawford is slashing an uninspiring .240/.305/.344 with two home runs, four doubles, seven RBI and two stolen bases over his last 106 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Goes deep again

Crawford went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 5-4 win over the Rangers. Crawford took Jacob deGrom yard in the fourth inning, marking the shortstop's ninth homer of the campaign. He's swatted a long ball in two of his last three games, and Crawford has now scored a run in four consecutive contests. However, he hasn't had a multi-hit game since July 20. Since then, he's gone 6-for-33 (.182) at the dish.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Comes up clutch Friday

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 4-3 win over the Rangers. Crawford has been in a significant slump since the All-Star break, going just 7-for-59 (.119) over his last 14 games. That didn't seem to weigh him down when he delivered a walk-off homer in the ninth inning for his first long ball since July 9 versus the Yankees. The rut has cost Crawford the leadoff spot versus right-handed pitchers -- Randy Arozarena has been atop the order for the Mariners in the last two games. Crawford still has a .265/.359/.364 slash line with eight homers, 42 RBI, 47 runs scored and five stolen bases over 107 games, but he doesn't often provide enough category coverage, which makes it tough to trust him in fantasy while he's hitting near the bottom of the lineup.

Crawford is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Athletics on Monday. Crawford will get a rest day while Dylan Moore starts at shortstop and bats eighth. • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Knocks in four runs

Crawford went 2-for-6 with a double and four RBI during Saturday's 15-7 win over the Tigers. Crawford has been red-hot at the plate as the first half comes to a close, knocking in four runs in a game for the third time this season. He is also the owner of a 13-game hit streak, which he extended Saturday with a third-inning single and followed up with a bases-clearing double in the ninth. The 30-year-old's hot streak has contributed to a quality slash line of .287/.388/.387 with one game to go before the All-Star break.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Pushes hit streak to seven games

Crawford went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Pirates. Crawford extended his hitting streak to seven games and has now registered at least one hit in eight of his last nine. The 30-year-old shortstop continues to offer the Mariners some stability at the leadoff spot while Victor Robles (shoulder) sits on the injured list. Crawford hasn't supplied much in the way of power -- he's slugging just .383 over his last 58 outings -- but he's batting .287 with 19 RBI, 23 runs scored, 32 walks and four stolen bases across his last 267 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Idle against lefty

Crawford is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox. The left-handed-hitting Crawford typically starts against opposing southpaws, but he'll take a seat for the day game after a night game while the Red Sox send ace lefty Garrett Crochet to the bump. Dylan Moore will fill in for Crawford at shortstop and bat leadoff.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Lifts grand slam Sunday

Crawford went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk in Sunday's 6-0 win over the Guardians. Crawford dominated this three-game set versus Cleveland, going 7-for-11 with two extra-base hits and three walks. The shortstop had the biggest hit of Sunday's contest when he went deep for a second-inning grand slam that gave the Mariners a 5-0 lead at the time. Crawford is now batting .296 with an .824 OPS, six homers, 29 RBI, 30 runs scored, 10 doubles and four stolen bases over 68 games. He's hit well since late May, so he's in little danger of losing the leadoff spot any time soon.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Racks up three hits in win

Crawford went 3-for-5 with a double and one RBI in Friday's 7-2 win over the Guardians. Crawford has six multi-hit efforts over his 11 games in June, going 16-for-43 (.372) so far this month. The double was his first extra-base hit in five contests. The shortstop continues to be steady atop the Mariners' order, and he's now at a .286/.399/.393 slash line with five home runs, 25 RBI, 28 runs scored, 10 doubles and three stolen bases over 66 games this season.

Crawford went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Twins. Crawford has gone 5-for-8 with two walks over the first two games of this weekend series versus the Twins. His seventh-inning blast Saturday gave the Mariners their first lead of the contest, and it was his first homer since May 16 versus the Padres. The shortstop is at a .267/.386/.377 slash line with five homers, 22 RBI, 27 runs scored, two stolen bases and six doubles over 55 games this season. Crawford continues to regularly hit out of the leadoff spot, where his on-base skills have been valuable despite a relative lack of speed.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Shines with bat, glove in win

Crawford went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 5-1 win over the Padres. The shortstop set the tone for the night when he crushed the first pitch he saw from Stephen Kolek down the right-field line for a leadoff homer. Crawford also played his usual dazzling defense, highlighted by a 6-3 double play in the fourth inning to squelch a San Diego rally. Through 41 games to begin the season, Crawford's slashing .278/.385/.389 with four homers, two steals, 19 runs and 19 RBI.

Crawford (shoulder) is starting at shortstop and batting out of the leadoff spot against the Padres on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Crawford has gone 12-for-50 with one stolen base, one home run and four RBI since the beginning of May.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Managing shoulder tightness

Crawford was scratched from the lineup before Wednesday's game against the Yankees due to shoulder tightness, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports. The severity of Crawford's injury remains unknown, but he can be considered day-to-day until the team provides reason to believe otherwise. Leo Rivas and Miles Mastrobuoni are the leading candidates to pick up playing time at shortstop if Crawford has to miss any additional time.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Gets aboard four times Monday

Crawford went 2-for-4 with two walks, one stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Athletics. Crawford continues to sizzle -- he's hit safely in his last 13 games, going 20-for-52 (.385) with an 8:9 BB:K in that span. The shortstop is up to a .294 batting average with an .820 OPS, three home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored, one stolen base and three doubles over 33 contests. His .417 on-base percentage ranks fourth among qualified hitters in the majors through Monday's games. While he doesn't have the speed of a typical leadoff hitter, he's taken over the role amid his recent surge after often hitting ninth to begin 2025.
