Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Three punchouts in win
Gausman picked up the win in Game 1 of the ALDS against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters across 5.2 innings.
Gausman had allowed just two men to reach base over the first five innings before loading the bases with nobody out in the sixth. He then struck out Aaron Judge, walked Cody Bellinger to bring home the Yankees' lone run of the evening and induced a pop-up before turning the game over to Louis Varland to secure the final out of the frame. Gausman will likely be available to make his next start Friday in Game 5 if the series gets to that point.

Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Tapped for ALDS Game 1 start
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Friday that Gausman will start Saturday in Game 1 of the ALDS against the Yankees, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Gausman started the team's regular-season finale Sunday and will come back on five days' rest to take the ball in the Blue Jays' first postseason contest. The right-hander held a 3.59 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 189:50 K:BB over 193 innings this season, and he was particularly good in the second half with a 2.81 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 85:16 K:BB across 83.1 frames. The Yankees have yet to announce their Game 1 starter, but it could be Luis Gil after he was left off the wild-card roster.

Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Stumbles in finale
Gausman did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Rays, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks across 3.2 innings. He struck out five.
It was a rocky finish to the regular season for Gausman, who allowed eight runs on 17 hits across 9.1 innings in his last two outings -- he had given up just three runs over 30 innings in his previous four outings. The 34-year-old Gausman will wrap up the campaign at 10-11 with a 3.59 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 189 strikeouts across 32 starts (193 innings).

Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Fans seven in Tuesday's loss
Gausman (11-10) took the loss Tuesday, giving up four runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.2 innings as the Blue Jays fell 4-1 to the Red Sox. He struck out seven.
The veteran righty held Boston to one run through five innings before fading in the sixth, giving up three straight one-out hits before a final Carlos Narvaez double knocked him from the game. It's the first time since Aug. 18 that Gausman has failed to complete six innings, and just the second time in his last nine starts that he's allowed more than two runs -- a stretch in which he's produced a 2.37 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 57:11 K:BB over 60.2 innings. With the Jays trying to hold onto the AL East lead over a surging Yankees squad, Gausman could be needed for one more start in the regular season, at home the final day of the schedule against the Rays.

Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Continues to dominate vs. Rays
Gausman didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Rays, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings.
Gausman gave up an early run in the first inning but quickly settled in, retiring 18 of the next 22 batters while blanking Tampa Bay the rest of the way. Coming off a complete-game shutout against Houston in which he allowed just two hits, the right-hander continued his dominant form Wednesday, though Toronto's lack of run support left him with a no-decision. Gausman has now given up only three runs across his last four starts (30 innings), posting a 0.90 ERA and 28:4 K:BB during that span. The veteran is slated to face the Red Sox early next week in his next start.

Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Stellar in shutout
Gausman (10-10) earned the win in a complete-game shutout of the Astros on Thursday, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out nine.
It was a spectacular performance from Gausman, who held the Astros to a pair of singles while throwing exactly 100 pitches in his first complete game since July of 2024. The 34-year-old Gausman has been rolling of late, giving up just two runs over 24 innings in his last three starts, posting a 24:2 K:BB in that span. His ERA is down to 3.44 on the year with a 1.00 WHIP and 171 strikeouts through 29 starts (177.2 innings). Gausman is currently lined up to face the Rays on the road in his next outing.

Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Snags ninth win
Gausman (9-10) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over eight innings in a 7-1 victory over the Yankees. He struck out five.
A solo shot by Giancarlo Stanton in the second inning was the only blemish on Gausman's line as he fired 105 pitches (68 strikes) en route to his 14th quality start of the season. The veteran righty has given up two runs or fewer in five of his last six outings, posting a 2.48 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB through 40 innings over that stretch to help lead the Blue Jays' playoff push. Gausman lines up to make his next start at home next week against the Astros.
