  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Secures 10th win

Ray (10-6) allowed three unearned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out six over 6.2 innings to earn the win over the Padres on Monday. Ray was nearly untouchable until the Padres found some success in the seventh inning. However, the Giants' four-run first inning was enough to help the southpaw secure his first win since July 3 versus the Diamondbacks. Ray has recorded quality starts in four of his last eight outings, adding a 41:18 K:BB over 47.1 innings in that span. For the season, he's at a 2.85 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 158:57 K:BB through 154.2 innings across 26 starts. Ray is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Brewers.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Takes sixth loss

Ray (9-6) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to take the loss versus the Padres on Tuesday. Ray allowed all four runs over the first four innings, including a two-run home run to the light-hitting Jose Iglesias in the second. The winless stretch is up to seven starts for Ray, but this marked just the second time in that span in which he allowed more than two runs. He's at a 2.98 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 152:56 K:BB through 148 innings over 25 starts this season. The veteran southpaw is projected for a rematch with the Padres in San Diego early next week.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Fans eight in no-decision

Ray did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Pirates, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over six innings. Ray settled in after allowing four baserunners and a run in the first inning, generating 15 whiffs on 104 pitches while limiting the Pirates to only one extra-base hit. Since giving up five earned runs in his first start after the All-Star break on July 20, the 33-year-old has yielded just five over his past three outings. He'll take a 2.85 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 148:55 K:BB across 142 innings into a home matchup with the Padres early next week.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Goes seven strong in no-decision

Ray did not factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Mets, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with six strikeouts over seven innings. Ray cruised through six scoreless frames before surrendering a solo homer in the seventh, leaving with a 3-1 lead that the Giants' bullpen couldn't hold in the eighth. While the veteran southpaw has just one win in his past 10 outings, he's yielded three earned runs or fewer in nine of them to go along with five quality starts. He'll carry a 2.85 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 140:53 K:BB across 136 innings into a road matchup with the Pirates next week.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Takes fifth loss

Ray (9-5) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over 5.2 innings against the Mets. He struck out three. The southpaw tossed 5.1 scoreless innings Saturday before a two-RBI double by Mark Vientos ended his outing, and a lack of run support from the Giants handed him the loss. Ray's overall numbers remain strong with a 2.93 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 129 innings in 22 starts, although the veteran's last five starts have more closely aligned with his 3.75 FIP on the season, as he's recorded a 3.52 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 30.2 innings during that stretch.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Stumbles vs. Jays

Ray (9-4) took the loss Sunday against Toronto, allowing five runs on five hits and five walks across 4.1 innings. He struck out three. It was a tough outing for Ray, who gave up a season-high five runs while matching another season high with five walks. The veteran left-hander had been pitching well prior to the All-Star break, working to a 2.02 ERA in his previous four starts (26.2 innings). Overall, Ray sports a 2.92 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP and 131 strikeouts through 21 starts (123.1 innings) this season. He'll look to get back on track his next time out, currently scheduled to come next week at home against the Mets.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Quality start in pitching duel

Ray allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Sunday. Ray was close to taking a hard-luck loss, but Luis Matos' game-tying homer in the ninth inning spared him. Ray was strong, only allowing an RBI double to Freddie Freeman and a solo home run to Miguel Rojas in terms of damage, but the southpaw wasn't quite as sharp as Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who pitched seven scoreless frames. Since the start of June, Ray has allowed just 19 runs (16 earned) over 48.2 innings, good for a 2.96 ERA. That's a little worse than his overall mark this year -- he's at a 2.65 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 128:44 K:BB through 119 innings over 20 starts. Ray was named an All-Star this year but won't pitch in Tuesday's game since he started Sunday.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Steady in no-decision

Ray allowed a run on four hits and three walks while striking out five over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Phillies on Tuesday. Ray came up an out short of a quality start, but he was pulled at 99 pitches (63 strikes). He wasn't scored upon until the sixth inning, when he gave up an RBI double to Otto Kemp, which ended his start. Ray has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) over his last 31.2 innings as he continues to give the Giants a chance to win every time he's on the mound. He's given up no more than four runs in any start, and he's surrendered that many just three times all season. The southpaw is at a 2.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 122:42 K:BB across 113 innings through 19 starts.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Takes tough-luck loss

Ray (8-3) allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings in a loss against the White Sox on Saturday. Ray fired five scoreless frames before surrendering a solo homer to Andrew Benintendi in the sixth. That ended up being the only run scored in the contest, resulting in Ray taking his second loss over his past three outings. In both of those defeats, Ray has also notched a quality start, and he hasn't give up more than three earned runs in an appearance since April 16, so he's not pitching terribly despite a so-so 3.54 ERA in five June starts. Ray still ranks among the top 15 qualified MLB starters with a 2.75 ERA and 110 punchouts on the season.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Fans seven in no-decision

Ray did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 9-5 win against Boston, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out seven. The San Francisco southpaw conceded a season-worst eight base knocks in this 88-pitch outing over which he fired 61 strikes. Ray allowed two long balls -- solo homers to Romy Gonzalez and Ceddanne Rafaela -- in a start for the first time since his first appearance of the season at Cincinnati on March 30. Despite this unsteady performance, Ray remains one of the elite starting pitchers in the game. He will carry a 2.83 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 104:36 K:BB across 92.1 innings into his next start against the White Sox in Chicago next weekend.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Handed second loss

Ray (8-2) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Guardians. Gabriel Arias' solo home run in the sixth inning ended up being the deciding run. Ray had produced eight straight quality starts between April 26 and June 5, and he was back at that level Tuesday after a four-inning effort in Colorado last week. Ray continues to successfully overcome a fairly high walk rate (3.6 BB/9), as he has a 2.68 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 97:35 K:BB over 87.1 innings through 15 starts. His next outing is projected to be at home versus the Red Sox this weekend.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Earns eighth win

Ray (8-1) earned the win Thursday over the Padres, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out nine. Ray gave up a two-run homer to Manny Machado in the third inning, but he'd stop the damage there, blanking San Diego over his final four frames en route to his eighth win, tying Hunter Brown and Carlos Rodon for the MLB lead. Ray has been a revelation in San Francisco so far this year -- the southpaw has gone seven innings in three of his last four outings, lowering his ERA to 2.44 with a 1.07 WHIP and 87:31 K:BB across 13 starts (77.1 innings). Ray is currently slated to face the Rockies on the road in his next start.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Saddled with tough-luck first loss

Ray (7-1) tossed seven innings Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and three walks while striking out nine batters in a loss to Miami. Ray was excellent in the outing, racking up 19 whiffs and nine punchouts while throwing 65 of 98 pitches for strikes. However, the Marlins squeezed out a run against him on two walks and a single in the second inning, and that tally held up to hand the southpaw his first lost of the campaign. Despite the defeat, Ray managed to extend his streak of quality starts to seven, and he lowered his season ERA to an impressive 2.43. The veteran hurler is also tied for 10th in MLB with 78 punchouts, and Ray remains in the early conversation for NL Cy Young consideration with his standout start to the campaign.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Improves to 7-0

Ray (7-0) earned the win Sunday over the Nationals, allowing one run on three hits across six innings. He struck out seven. It was another strong outing from Ray, who's now delivered six straight quality starts. The veteran southpaw has held opponents to three runs or fewer in all but one of his 11 starts this year -- his ERA is down to 2.56 with a 1.15 WHIP and 69:27 K:BB across 63.1 innings. Ray will look to stay unbeaten in his next outing, currently lined up for next week in Miami.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Strong outing in no-decision

Ray allowed six hits and a walk while striking out seven over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Royals on Monday. Ray earned his fifth straight quality start with this effort, which was also his second scoreless outing of the season. However, the Giants didn't generate any runs to support him while he was in the game and they ultimately lost 3-1. Ray has a 37:9 K:BB over his last 33 innings, and he's at a 2.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 62:27 K:BB through 57.1 innings over 10 starts this season. The veteran southpaw's next start is projected to be on the road versus the Nationals.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Overcomes shaky first inning

Ray (6-0) allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out nine over six innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Ray gave up all three runs in the first inning. While he didn't completely shut things down after that, he kept Arizona at bay, allowing the Giants to build an insurmountable lead. This was Ray's fourth straight quality start as well as his third consecutive win. The southpaw is now at a 3.04 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB across 50.1 innings over nine starts. After two campaigns riddled by injuries (Tommy John surgery and a hamstring injury), Ray is healthy and pitching effectively, despite a troublesome 4.6 BB/9. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Royals.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Improves to 5-0

Ray (5-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Cubs, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five. Ray was sharp again Wednesday, delivering a third straight quality start -- the veteran southpaw has posted a stellar 1.80 ERA over his last four outings (25 innings). Overall, Ray's ERA is down to 2.84 on the season with a 1.20 WHIP and 46:23 K:BB through eight starts (44.1 innings). He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently lined up for next week against the Diamondbacks.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Dazzles against Rox for fourth win

Ray (4-0) picked up the win Friday, scattering two hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings in a 4-0 victory over the Rockies. He struck out eight. The veteran southpaw may be regaining the form that led him to an AL Cy Young Award in 2021 with the Blue Jays. Ray has lasted seven innings in back-to-back starts, allowing only two runs on seven hits with a 16:3 K:BB as he takes advantage of pitching at Oracle Park. Thanks to that surge, he sports a 3.05 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 41:21 K:BB through 38.1 innings on the season. Ray will head out on the road for his next outing, however, which is scheduled to come next week against the Cubs.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Seven strong innings Saturday

Ray allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Saturday. Both runs allowed came on sacrifice flies by Jake Burger over the first three innings. Ray was able to have his longest start of the year thanks to an efficient performance, which saw him throw 69 of 97 pitches for strikes. The one walk matched his season low, while the eight strikeouts equaled his season high. He's taken three straight no-decisions but still doesn't have a loss through six starts (3-0) in 2025. Ray is at a 3.73 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 33:19 K:BB over 31.1 innings. He'll look to build on this strong outing in his next start, which is projected to be at home versus the Rockies.

  • Giants' Robbie Ray: Goes five frames in no-decision

Ray allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four batters over five innings in a no-decision against Milwaukee on Monday. Both of the runs Ray allowed came on a second-inning Caleb Durbin homer. While the veteran hurler otherwise kept the Brewers out of the scoring column, he again struggled with his efficiency, needed 92 pitches (55 of which were strikes) to get through five frames. Ray completed just four innings in each of his two previous appearances, and he exceeded 90 pitches in each of those outings as well. He's been okay so far this season with a 3-0 record and 4.07 ERA, but his 1.56 WHIP is far from ideal. Ray's biggest issue has been walks -- with the three free passes Monday, he's now issued a league-high 18 walks in just 24.1 frames on the campaign.
