  • Rays' Adrian Houser: Stumbles late in seventh win

Houser (7-4) earned the win Friday against St. Louis, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks in 6.1 innings. He struck out two. Houser was working toward firing seven innings of two-run ball, but Nathan Church launched a two-run home run in the seventh frame to prevent the hurler from logging a quality start. The veteran right-hander was quite a pleasant surprise while posting a 1.56 ERA through his first nine starts in 2025, but he's staggered to a 5.18 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across his last six outings (33 innings). Houser will be aiming to right the ship in his next appearance, currently projected for next weekend against the last-place Nationals.

  • Rays' Adrian Houser: Best start yet for Tampa

Houser allowed four hits and struck out six without walking a batter over five scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Saturday. Houser took advantage of a favorable matchup, and while he didn't get in the win column, he left the Rays in a strong position. He's still given up nine runs over 15.2 innings since he was dealt from the White Sox, but Saturday's performance suggests he may be getting comfortable with his new team. On the year, he's maintained a 2.67 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 60:26 K:BB through 84.1 innings over 14 starts. The 32-year-old is tentatively lined up to make his next start at home versus the Cardinals.

  • Rays' Adrian Houser: Another rough start

Houser (6-4) took the loss Sunday against Seattle, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts across five innings. Houser's time in Tampa Bay has been rocky, as the veteran starter has allowed five and four runs, respectively, in his first two starts as a Ray. The 32-year-old has surrendered multiple walks in four of his last six starts. His two outings with Tampa Bay have ballooned Houser's ERA from 1.89 to 2.84. He'll look to get back on track next weekend in San Francisco.

  • Rays' Adrian Houser: Struggles in Rays debut

Houser (6-3) took the loss against the Angels on Monday, allowing five runs on 11 hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 5.2 innings. Houser made his first start with Tampa Bay after he was acquired in a trade with the White Sox at the trade deadline. The right-hander had put up an excellent 2.10 ERA during his 11 starts with Chicago, though he surrendered seven runs (six earned) over 11 innings across his final two outings with the club. Houser then posted arguably his worst start of the campaign in his first appearance with Tampa Bay -- both the 11 hits and five runs he allowed were season-worst marks. Houser's fantastic beginning to the campaign was always a bit hard to believe in given his previous career numbers, and it's fair to wonder if the run of success is coming to an end. Still, he'll have a chance to bounce back his next time out, which is scheduled to be a road matchup against Seattle this weekend.

  • Rays' Adrian Houser: Debuting Monday

Houser is slated to start Monday's game against the Angels in Anaheim. Houser will be making his Rays debut this week after he was acquired from the White Sox on Thursday in exchange for infielder Curtis Mead and right-handers Duncan Davitt and Ben Peoples. He'll essentially be taking over the rotation spot that previously belonged to right-hander Zack Littell, whom the Rays shipped to the Reds on Wednesday. Houser was a surprise standout in the White Sox rotation upon joining the big club in late May, logging a 2.10 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 47:22 K:BB in 68.2 innings over his 11 starts prior to being traded.

  • Rays' Adrian Houser: Shipped to Tampa Bay

The Rays acquired Houser from the White Sox on Thursday in exchange for infielder Curtis Mead, right-hander Duncan Davitt and right-hander Ben Peoples, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. A scrap-heap pickup for the White Sox in mid-May, Houser was extremely effective during his 11-start run with the White Sox, turning in a 2.10 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 68.2 innings. He'll now head to Tampa to round out the rotation, though he might be at risk of moving to the bullpen once Shane McClanahan (triceps) is cleared to return from the injured list.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Scratched from Wednesday's start

Houser was scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday against the Phillies, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. Houser is on the trade block, and while he has not be dealt anywhere at this point, the White Sox are holding the righty out in anticipation of moving him ahead of Thursday's deadline, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Lefty Tyler Alexander is now scheduled to start Wednesday in what will likely be a bullpen game for Chicago.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Quality start in sixth win

Houser (6-2) picked up the win Friday against the Cubs, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in 6.2 innings. He struck out three. With the White Sox putting up multiple runs in four of the first five innings, Houser was cruising along until the seventh inning. The veteran right-hander still managed to post his ninth quality start in 11 outings, and he continues to be a pleasant surprise since joining Chicago's rotation in late May. Houser holds a 2.10 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 47:22 K:BB across 68.2 innings, and his expiring contract makes him a logical trade candidate ahead of Thursday's deadline. He's currently projected to next take the hill at home in a tough spot versus the Phillies.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Hit around in no-decision

Houser did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Pirates, allowing four runs (three earned) on 10 hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 4.1 innings. Houser yielded a season-high 10 hits while generating only four swinging strikes and failing to complete five innings for the first time in 10 starts this year. It snapped a streak of four consecutive quality starts for the 32-year-old, though he's still allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his outings. He'll carry a 1.89 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 44:19 K:BB across 62 innings into a tough matchup with the Cubs next weekend.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Keeps rolling

Houser (5-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Blue Jays, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out two. Houser picked up a third straight win and fourth consecutive quality start against a Blue Jays team that came into Wednesday on a 10-game hit streak. The 32-year-old Houser has been nothing short of remarkable since signing with the White Sox in late May. Through nine starts, his ERA is down to 1.56 with a 1.13 WHIP and 39:18 K:BB across 57.2 innings.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Brilliant again Friday

Houser (4-2) picked up the win in Friday's 3-2 victory over the Rockies, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and two walks over eight innings. He struck out six. While the 2025 edition of the Colorado offense doesn't present much of a challenge for pitchers, pitching at Coors Field carries its own risks, and Houser navigated them brilliantly. A throwing error by Josh Rojas in the fifth inning led to the only runs off the right-hander, as Houser generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 96 pitches (65 total strikes) en route to his third straight quality start and seventh in eight trips to the mound for the White Sox. He'll take a 1.60 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 37:16 K:BB through 50.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Blue Jays.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Tosses gem against Giants

Houser (3-2) earned the win over San Francisco on Saturday, allowing four hits and issuing one walk while striking out five batters over seven scoreless innings. Houser got one measly run of support, but that was all he needed, as the right-hander spun another impressive outing. The veteran hurler was efficient in tossing 88 pitches (62 strikes) across his seven frames, and he fired a first-pitch strike to 18 of the 25 batters he faced. Houser lowered his ERA to 1.90 on the campaign, and he's now recorded a quality start in six of his seven appearances. While he doesn't have a great track record and is not a big source of strikeouts -- he has 31 across 42.2 innings this year -- Houser has put himself on fantasy radars with his unexpected level of success to begin his White Sox tenure.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Another strong outing

Houser allowed two runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Blue Jays. He struck out four. Houser continues to impress early in his tenure with the White Sox. The right-hander has yet to allow more than three runs in a start while delivering a quality start in five of his first six outings. Houser's ERA sits at 2.27 through his first 35.2 innings with a 1.26 WHIP and 26:13 K:BB. Houser is tentatively scheduled to face the Giants at home in his next outing.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Reinstated for Sunday's start

Houser (personal) was activated from the paternity list and will start Sunday against the Blue Jays. The right-hander landed on the paternity list Thursday while he welcomed a new addition to his family, but he's back with Chicago to make his next turn through the rotation. Houser has pitched well through his first five MLB starts of 2025 with a 2.15 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB across 29.1 innings.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Goes on paternity list

The White Sox placed Houser on the paternity list Thursday. By rule, Houser will miss the next 1-to-3 games. According to Jack Ankony of SI.com, Houser is still expected to pitch this weekend in Toronto when his next turn through the rotation comes up, though it's not yet clear which day he'll start.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Extends streak of quality starts

Houser (2-1) earned the win over Kansas City on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out six batters over six innings. Houser gave up a second-inning solo homer to Vinnie Pasquantino but didn't allow any other runs or extra-base hits. The right-handed hurler tied his season high with six punchouts -- a mark he's tallied in each of his past three outings -- and has now notched a quality start in each of first four appearances this season. Houser hasn't finished a campaign with an ERA below 4.12 or a WHIP under 1.39 since 2021, so fantasy managers are justified in being skeptical about the red-hot start to his White Sox tenure. That being said, Houser now holds a sparkling 1.48 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with a 20:6 K:BB through 24.1 innings, so he's becoming hard to ignore on waiver wires.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Scoreless streak ends in loss

Houser (1-1) took the loss Sunday against the Orioles, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out six. While Houser saw his season-opening scoreless streak end at 14 innings, the right-hander did deliver a third straight quality start in the eventual 3-2 defeat. Through his first 18.1 innings with the White Sox, Houser has posted a 1.47 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB, solidifying his spot in the rotation. Houser is currently lined up to face the Royals at home in his next outing.

  • White Sox's Adrian Houser: Gets MLB deal from White Sox

The White Sox signed Houser to a one-year, $1.35 million contract Tuesday. Houser requested and was granted his release from a minor-league contract with the Rangers last week so that he could link up with the White Sox on a big-league deal. The veteran right-hander has posted a 5.03 ERA and 37:15 K:BB over 39.1 innings at Triple-A Round Rock this season. Houser will join Chicago's rotation and start Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

  • Adrian Houser: Released by Texas

Houser was granted his release by the Rangers on Thursday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. Houser signed a minor-league deal with the Rangers this winter and was having some success with Triple-A Round Rock, most notably maintaining a 1.15 WHIP with 37 strikeouts across 39.1 innings. Texas would reportedly like to re-sign him, though he may have another opportunity around the league lined up.

  • Rangers' Adrian Houser: Inks minors deal with Rangers

Houser signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Saturday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. After posting a career-worst 5.84 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 69.1 innings, Houser was cut by the Mets in late July. He spent time with the Orioles' and Cubs' Triple-A affiliates to finish off the regular season and will now head to Texas on his third minor-league contract in four months. Barring a significant turnaround, the 31-year-old righty will likely fill in as organizational depth at Triple-A Round Rock.
