Washington Nationals@Nationals3H agoFINAL // Padres 7, Nationals 5 -
Mark Zuckerman@MarkZuckerman6H agoThe Nationals have now used an opener 11 times (Poulin 7, Lovelady 3, Schultz 1). They've collectively allowed 5 runs in 14 2/3 innings for a 3.07 ERA, but 3 of the 5 runs were allowed by Lovelady and Schultz in 4 games. Poulin has only allowed 2 runs in his 7 games. -
Mark Zuckerman@MarkZuckerman7H agoSeries opener is underway on a picture-perfect, 78-degree Friday evening at Nationals Park, where Padres manager Craig Stammen got a well-deserved welcome back video. Hopefully they acknowledge Bobby Henley, Randy Knorr and Steven Souza Jr. as well this weekend. -
Mark Zuckerman@MarkZuckerman11H agoNats RHP opener Schultz vs Padres RHP Giolito (6:45/Nationals TV/FOX 5/106.7 FM) https://t.co/i6ObNNeWxk -
Washington Nationals@Nationals14H agoRT @NationalsComms: The Nationals have returned Cole Henry from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 15-day Injured List. -
Mark Zuckerman@MarkZuckerman14H agoCole Henry has been activated off the 15-day IL and will be in the Nationals’ bullpen tonight, taking the spot previously held by PJ Poulin (who was optioned to AAA after Wednesday’s game). -
Mark Zuckerman@MarkZuckerman2D agoWhile the highest-scoring lineup in the majors is deservedly getting all the attention, the Nationals’ pitching staff has quietly turned itself around, ranking in the middle of the pack in all the important categories over the last month. https://t.co/HdAgd1Bcu4 -
Mark Zuckerman@MarkZuckerman2D agoNationals optioned PJ Poulin, who opened two of the three games in Cleveland, to Triple-A Rochester after today's game. So, they'll be adding another pitcher before Friday's game against the Padres. -
Mark Zuckerman@MarkZuckerman2D agoRT @spencernusbaum_: Andrew Alvarez will start for the Nationals on Friday (unless there is an opener, which, this year, you never know) -
Mark Zuckerman@MarkZuckerman2D agoA bit of a dud to end an otherwise excellent road trip. The Nationals went 4-2 at Atlanta and Cleveland and went 10-6 during their now-completed, 16-day stretch with an off day. They'll come home with a winning record. https://t.co/pBOGBz8IiV
