Dodgers claim pitcher Brooks Brown
Pitcher Brooks Brown was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers on Wednesday.
A first-round pick in 2006, he struggled to a 4.91 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 36 appearances with Colorado in 2015, striking out only 20 batters while walking 16 in 33 innings. Brown did have far better numbers in 28 appearances in 2014 (2.77 ERA, 0.96 WHIP), and he could compete for one of the Dodgers' final bullpen spots in spring training if he maintains his position on the 40-man roster at the Rule 5 deadline.
