Blue Jays' Ryan Feierabend: Clears waivers
Feierabend was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
The 33-year-old knuckleballer will stick in the organization after going unclaimed off waivers when the Blue Jays designated him for assignment earlier in the weekend. Feierabend was lit up for seven runs in 5.2 innings across two appearances with Toronto in what was his first MLB action since 2014.

Blue Jays' Ryan Feierabend: DFA'd by Toronto
Feierabend was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Friday.
Feierabend struggled in both outings with Toronto as he allowed seven runs on 11 hits over 5.2 innings after having his contract purchased from Triple-A Buffalo last week. The 33-year-old may rejoin Buffalo if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Blue Jays' Ryan Feierabend: May not start Thursday
The Blue Jays may not have Feierabend start the next time his turn comes up Thursday against the Red Sox with Clayton Richard (knee) trending toward a return from the 10-day injured list this week, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
When the Blue Jays required a new rotation member over the weekend against the White Sox, the journeyman knuckleballer was a surprise choice to make a spot start. As one might expect from a pitcher who hadn't appeared in the big leagues since 2014, Feierabend labored through his four innings, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk in a losing effort. It's apparent that Feierabend is merely keeping a seat warm for Richard, who tossed 48 pitches in his first rehab start Saturday for Triple-A Buffalo. Though Richard won't be ready to assume a normal starter's workload if deemed available Thursday, the Blue Jays may be comfortable with deploying him as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen. Feierabend would represent the most logical candidate to lose his roster spot whenever Toronto decides to activate Richard.

Blue Jays' Ryan Feierabend: Handed first loss
Feierabend (0-1) took the loss Saturday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out two over four innings against the White Sox.
Feierabend permitted a run in the first inning on a Leury Garcia homer, two tallies in the second on three hits, and a final run on three hits in the third. This was the 33-year-old's first start since 2008, and the performance left Feierabend with a 9.00 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP this year. The left-hander is lined up for a tough matchup in his next start Thursday at home against the Red Sox.

Blue Jays' Ryan Feierabend: Promoted, starting Saturday
Feierabend's contract was purchased from Triple-A Buffalo prior to his start Saturday against the White Sox.
A 33-year-old journeyman, Feierabend's last major-league appearance was in 2014 with the Rangers. He had a 2.70 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB in 16.2 innings with Buffalo, but his 5.54 FIP paints a less promising picture.

Blue Jays' Ryan Feierabend: Expected to start Saturday
Feierabend will likely be called up from Triple-A Buffalo to start Saturday's game against the White Sox, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Feierabend hasn't joined the active roster just yet, but it appears the Blue Jays are leaning towards bringing the knuckleballer aboard as a fifth starter until Clayton Richard (knee) is ready to return from the 10-day injured list. The southpaw hasn't surfaced in the big leagues since the 2014 season with Texas, though he's posted a decent 2.70 ERA and with 13 punchouts over 16.2 innings this year with Triple-A Buffalo.
