  • Red Wings' Viktor Arvidsson: Nets first goal with Red Wings

Arvidsson tallied a power-play goal, placed three shots on net and picked up two PIM in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Winnipeg.

Arvidsson tallied his first goal in Detroit on a power-play late in the second period. The 33-year-old winger is fresh off signing a two-year, $10 million contract with the Red Wings in the offseason following his stellar bounce-back campaign. In 69 regular-season outings with the Bruins during the 2025-26 campaign, he went off for 25 goals, 54 points and 176 shots on net. With the Red Wings likely to part ways with Dylan Larkin (upper body) and at risk of losing Simon Edvinsson (contract dispute), Arvidsson will likely be relied upon to provide offensively in the 2026-27 campaign, making him a strong option in deep fantasy leagues.

  • Jets' Josh Morrissey: Adds pair of helpers Sunday

Morrissey distributed two power-play assists, launched seven shots on net and had two blocked shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over Detroit.

Morrissey got on the board in the 2026-27 campaign with a pair of power-play helpers across the first period and a half of Sunday's contest. The 31-year-old blueliner took a small step back in his production with a man advantage in 2025-26, regressing from 22 to 16 points. However, he looks sharp on the power play to begin the new campaign, so he could be in for a bounce-back season as the team's clear No. 1 option to quarterback the man-advantage unit. Expect Morrissey to contend for his fourth campaign in the last five seasons with at least 60 points.

  • Jets' Cole Perfetti: Involved in all three goals

Perfetti tallied a power-play goal, recorded two power-play assists and put two shots on net in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Red Wings.

After picking up an assist in Friday's overtime loss to the Bruins, Perfetti played a hand in each of the Jets' three power-play goals Sunday. He scored the first goal himself just over 13 minutes into the contest before picking up a secondary helper on each of Kyle Connor's tallies. While Perfetti is coming off a down year, where he posted just 32 points in 68 regular-season games, he's a strong bounce-back candidate after his hot start to the new year. If he can partially maintain his current rate of scoring, he should be in contention to challenge his career high of 50 points, making him a solid fantasy option in deep leagues.

  • Kyle Connor LW | WPG

Jets' Kyle Connor: Stays hot with three points

Connor scored two power-play goals, provided a power-play assist and fired five shots on net in Sunday's 3-2 win over Detroit.

Connor's excellent start to the 2026-27 campaign continued Sunday. After posting a pair of points against the Bruins on Friday, he played the hero in Sunday's clash with Detroit by plating the primary helper on Cole Perfetti's goal before he scored twice at a man advantage himself. All three of Connor's goals in the new season have been on the power play, which is an encouraging sign that the 29-year-old winger could blow his total of five man-advantage goals from a season ago out of the water. He's poised to be an elite fantasy option in all formats once again in the 2026-27 campaign, where he'll aim to secure 90-plus points for the third consecutive year.

  • Jake DeBrusk LW | VAN

Canucks' Jake DeBrusk: Ruled out for Sunday's game

DeBrusk (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Golden Knights, Ben Kuzma of Postmedia reports.

DeBrusk will be unavailable for a second consecutive matchup due to his illness, but he's slated to travel with the Canucks during their upcoming six-game road trip. He's recorded an assist and two PIM across two appearances this year.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Yields three shorthanded goals

Gibson stopped 24 of 27 shots on goal in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Jets.

After a strong Opening Night performance, where he allowed just one goal, Gibson conceded three times Sunday. However, the skaters in front of him didn't make life easier for the 33-year-old netminder, as all three of the goals he allowed were at a man disadvantage. Across two appearances, he holds an 0-2-0 record, a 2.07 GAA and a .915 save percentage over 47 shot attempts. With trade rumors surrounding both Dylan Larkin and Simon Edvinsson, Gibson's situation in fantasy is set to be unpredictable for the time being. While he might find individual success, he's best left on waivers in standard leagues until the Red Wings can get back on track.

  • Panthers' Jacob Markstrom: Tending twine Sunday

Markstrom will defend the road net against Anaheim on Sunday, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.

Markstrom earned a shutout in his first appearance of the 2026-27 campaign, making 15 saves in a 1-0 overtime victory over Carolina on Tuesday. Anaheim picked up a 4-3 win over Vegas on Friday.

  • Brad Marchand LW | FLA

Panthers' Brad Marchand: Making season debut Sunday

Marchand (lower body) will make his season debut during Sunday's game against Anaheim, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.

Marchand was initially expected to be sidelined through October, but the Panthers announced this week that his recovery was going better than expected and that he could be back in action before the end of the month. He's ultimately been given the green light to return after missing just two games to begin the regular season. Across 52 regular-season appearances last year, Marchand recorded 27 goals, 27 assists, 38 PIM, 36 hits and 16 blocked shots while averaging 17:44 of ice time.

  • Jets' Stuart Skinner: Earns first win with Jets

Skinner turned aside 33 of 35 shots on net in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Red Wings.

Skinner bounced back in a big way Sunday, as he faced a plethora of shots on net and only yielded two goals, including one at a man disadvantage. The 27-year-old backstop is currently unbeaten in regulation this season, as he holds a 1-0-1 record, a 2.92 GAA and a .908 save percentage across 65 shots on net between two appearances. With Connor Hellebuyck (suspension) out of the picture amid trade discussions, Skinner is the clear No.1 option for the Jets moving forward, which should give him plenty of opportunities to find fantasy success this season. With the Jets playing in the second half of a back-to-back Monday, Clay Stevenson is expected to get the nod for his first start with Winnipeg before Skinner likely returns to the crease Wednesday against the Avalanche.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Defending crease Sunday

Vejmelka will guard the road goal against the Rangers on Sunday, per Catherine Bogart of the Mammoth's official site.

Vejmelka is coming off a 15-save shutout in Thursday's 6-0 win over Chicago. He has surrendered 20 goals on 120 shots for a 2-3-0 record in five previous regular-season outings against the Rangers. The Rangers have posted a mark of 2-1-0 this campaign while scoring seven goals.
