  • Maple Leafs' Chris Tanev: Surfaces on IR

Tanev (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, according to the NHL media site.

After suffering an upper-body injury, Tanev left Saturday's 6-3 win over Colorado. He will miss at least the next three games, starting with Tuesday's matchup against Utah, but it's unclear when he will be ready to return. The Maple Leafs recalled Marshall Rifai from AHL Toronto on Sunday in a corresponding move.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Requires surgery

Shesterkin will require surgery and a lengthy rehab process to address his season-ending right knee injury, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports Sunday.

Shesterkin was hurt during Friday's game against the Capitals when his right leg got jammed into the post while returning to the crease on a scrambled play, and the Rangers ruled him out for the season a day later. He was placed on injured reserve Sunday, and the team has now provided some clarification on the exact nature of his injury. Dylan Garand is slated to serve as the Rangers' No. 1 option in the crease until Joonas Korpisalo (lower body) is back in action.

  • Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Starting against Flyers

Kochetkov will guard the road goal against Philadelphia on Sunday, according to Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Kochetkov has won his previous two outings this season, stopping 34 of 38 shots. He made 16 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers on Oct. 3. Philadelphia (0-4-2) has scored only seven goals during a six-game winless skid to begin the 2026-27 campaign.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Guarding goal Sunday

Daccord will defend the road net against Washington on Sunday, per Sound of Hockey.

Daccord struggled in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Vegas, but he has a 2-1-0 record this season. He has stopped 72 of 79 shots in three games to begin the 2026-27 campaign. Washington (3-1-0) has scored 14 goals in four games this season.

  • Capitals' Pierre-Luc Dubois: Unavailable Sunday

Dubois (illness) won't play against Seattle on Sunday.

Dubois will miss at least one game, but it's unclear if he will be ready to play against Carolina on Tuesday. He has contributed one goal, three assists, six shots on net, five hits and three blocked shots in four appearances this season. Ethen Frank or Ivan Miroshnichenko will replace Dubois in Sunday's lineup against the Kraken.
