Justin Robidas C | CAR
Hurricanes' Justin Robidas: Waived Friday
Robidas was placed on waivers by Carolina on Friday, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Robidas had 23 goals and 60 points in 58 regular-season appearances with AHL Chicago in 2025-26. He also registered an assist in two regular-season outings with Carolina. Although his inclusion on waivers suggests that he won't be part of the Hurricanes' Opening Night roster, Robidas might still get a shot with Carolina as the 2026-27 campaign progresses.

Nikita Chibrikov RW | WPG
Jets' Nikita Chibrikov: Waived Friday
Chibrikov landed on the waiver wire Friday.
Chibrikov was selected by the Jets in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft, but he has only managed to make 16 appearances at the NHL level. At this point, the 23-year-old winger may benefit from a change of scenery, though his record may not be enough to warrant another team picking him up off waivers.
-
Aleksi Heimosalmi D | CAR
Hurricanes' Aleksi Heimosalmi: Placed on waivers
Heimosalmi was put on waivers by Carolina on Friday, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Heimosalmi had four goals, 17 points and 40 PIM in 52 regular-season appearances with AHL Chicago in 2025-26. The 23-year-old defenseman hasn't made his NHL debut.

Joseph had a goal and six points in 31 regular-season appearances with Vancouver in 2025-26. Based on his inclusion on waivers, it seems Joseph isn't slated to make the Hurricanes' Opening Night roster, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him summoned later in the campaign.
-
Isaak Phillips D | WPG
Jets' Isaak Phillips: Hits waivers
Phillips was placed on waivers Friday.
Phillips has logged just six regular-season NHL games over the past two seasons, generating one goal and six shots. Given his offensive limitations, even if Phillips is recalled during the season, he is unlikely to offer more than low-end fantasy value.
