Dan Vladar G | PHI
Flyers' Dan Vladar: Re-signs with club
Vladar inked a five-year, $27.5 million contract with Philadelphia on Wednesday, per agent Dan Milstein.
Vladar logged 52 regular-season games for the Flyers in 2025-26, posting a 29-14-7 record and a career-best 2.42 GAA. The 28-year-old backstop appears to finally be the solution to Philly's problem between the pipes, though that has been said in the past of netminders coming off a good first year with the team. Still, he should be the clear No. 1 option heading into 2026-27 and could see upward of 60 games.

Sebastian Cossa G | UTA
Mammoth's Sebastian Cossa: Secures two-year deal
Cossa inked a two-year, $4 million contract with the Mammoth on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.
Cossa was dealt from Detroit to Utah during Friday's draft in exchange for the 2026 No. 23 overall pick. The 23-year-old netminder was a first-round selection in 2021, so he should have every opportunity to be the backup to Karel Vejmelka for at least the next two seasons. However, Cossa has just one game of NHL experience, so he will likely have to earn that role during training camp in September.

Jacob Markstrom G | FLA
Panthers' Jacob Markstrom: Dealt to Sunshine State
Florida acquired Markstrom (undisclosed) and Angus Crookshank from New Jersey on Tuesday in exchange for Evan Rodrigues, (finger) Jesper Boqvist and Ben Steeves, per Pierre LeBrun of TSN.
Before missing the final three games of the 2025-26 campaign because of nagging injuries, Markstrom went 23-19-1 with a 3.07 GAA, an .883 save percentage and one shutout in 44 regular-season appearances for the Devils. However, the veteran netminder will have bounce-back appeal in 2026-27 if he seizes control of the No. 1 role between the pipes with the Panthers.

Samuel Ersson G | OTT
Samuel Ersson: Doesn't receive qualifying offer
Ersson was not given a qualifying offer by the Senators on Monday, Julian McKenzie of The Athletic reports.
While the decision will allow Ersson to test free agency Wednesday, according to McKenzie, the Senators are still working to re-sign the 26-year-old backstop after acquiring him from the Maple Leafs on June 26. If he does return to Ottawa, Ersson will likely battle for the No. 2 spot alongside Leevi Merilainen.

Akira Schmid G | FLA
Panthers' Akira Schmid: Acquired by Florida
Schmid was dealt from the Golden Knights to the Panthers on Monday in exchange for a 2028 third-round pick.
Considering that the Panthers' goaltending duo of Sergei Bobrovsky and Daniil Tarasov is set to become unrestricted free agents, Schmid might have an opportunity to command a sizable role in 2026-27. It will be worth monitoring what the Panthers do with their goaltending situation when free agency begins, but Schmid could be an intriguing sleeper for fantasy managers this coming season, even if he's working in tandem with another netminder. The 26-year-old Schmid went 16-10-6 with a 2.59 GAA and an .893 save percentage over 34 regular-season games with Vegas in 2025-26. He will need a new contract as well, as he is a restricted free agent.

Talyn Boyko G | NYR
Talyn Boyko: Hitting free-agent market
The Rangers opted not to give Boyko a qualifying offer, according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post on Monday.
Boyko, a fourth-round pick by the Rangers in 2021, has never appeared in an NHL game. Once free agency opens Wednesday, the 23-year-old goaltender can sign with a new club.
-
Hugo Ollas G | NYR
Hugo Ollas: Not presented with qualifying offer
Ollas was not tendered a qualifying offer from the Rangers on Monday, making him an unrestricted free agent, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Ollas was a seventh-round selection by the Rangers in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The Swedish netminder played in 18 games with ECHL Bloomington in 2025-26, going 5-4-2 with an .896 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA.
-
Garin Bjorklund G | WAS
Garin Bjorklund: Slated to hit free agency
Bjorklund will become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday after he didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Capitals.
Bjorklund spent the majority of his time in 2025-26 with AHL Hershey, where he went 5-9-3 with a 3.72 GAA and .876 save percentage across 17 regular-season appearances. He'll attempt to seek out other opportunities ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Owen Say G | CGY
Owen Say: Set to test free agency
The Flames did not present a qualifying offer to Say on Monday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Say will now become an unrestricted free agent. The 25-year-old netminder went 6-7-4 with an .889 save percentage and a 3.36 GAA over 19 appearances with AHL Calgary in 2025-26. The Ontario native was never drafted by an NHL club.

Jesper Vikman G | WAS
Jesper Vikman: Doesn't receive qualifying offer
Vikman didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Capitals, and he'll become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday.
Vikman was traded to the Capitals from the Golden Knights in March, but he hasn't yet made his NHL debut. He made 18 regular-season appearances with AHL Henderson last year, going 8-7-3 with a 3.41 GAA and .866 save percentage. He'll attempt to land another roster spot ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. He logged just one appearance with ECHL South Carolina after the trade.
